I've been back a few times already and im absolutely in LOVE with their basque cheesecakes! There's plenty of flavors to choose from and I've pretty much tried everything but my top five are: taro, ube, mango sticky rice, guava, and pandan. The owners are so sweet and really take their time to make sure each customer gets to sample the cheesecakes before choosing, so sometimes there is a bit of a wait. Once you have a taste of their cheesecakes though, you're bound to be a repeat customer like me. Such a pretty cafe in the middle of Chinatown! I love how they painted the entire cafe to match the color of a classic Thai tea/coffee. Plenty of room to move around and comfortable seating as well. They have such an extensive drinks menu that it becomes so difficult to choose!! Everything on the menu looks so inviting - especially the comfort and the cloud series! I honestly wanted to get everything but my stomach disagreed so I could only choose 1 drink. I asked for the Indonesian style Avocado coffee, and the owner let me know that they will check if the Avocados are ripe or not. Luckily, they did have some ripe avocados so they asked me to wait like 10 minutes as everything they make is from scratch, no premade stuff - which I really appreciate. I like that they do things the right way and choose quality over quantity. The coffee itself didn't taste much of avocado though, it just tasted like regular latte with a slight hint of oil/fat. However, I am not done with them yet. I will come back to try their Pandan basque cake and Pandan based drinks because apparently they hand squeeze fresh Pandan leaves every morning to get the extract out. read more

I've been wanting to come try out Lamoone for awhile and so glad I'm finally able to stop by on a Saturday afternoon. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I was excited to that they offer their Cloud Series, which are coconut water based drinks. I ordered the Hojicha, Yuzu, and Lavender Coconut Cloud. I really liked that they use coconut water, which makes the drinks feel light and refreshing rather than overly heavy or creamy. The hojicha tea flavor was aromatic and it was a pleasant surprise in combination with coconut water. The yuzu was the most refreshing one that's perfect for the summer. The flavors were well balanced and enjoyable. I could not comment on the lavender as it was my 9 year old lavender loving son's request and he did not want to share. For their cheesecakes, we got the Matcha, Ube, Pandan, Vanilla, Mango, and Guava, with the Mango and Guava being seasonal flavors. The cheesecakes were super creamy and smooth, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. The flavors actually come through instead of being overwhelmed by sweetness. None of them were too sweet and each one had its own distinct flavor profile. My personal favorites were the Pandan and Guava. The Pandan had that distinct fragrant, slightly nutty and floral flavor that I love, while the Guava had a fruity and slightly tangy note that made it feel especially refreshing. Both flavors were unique without being overpowering The only downside was the wait time. There weren't many people when we visited, and I was initially told my drinks would take about 10 minutes, but I ended up waiting around 30 minutes. That said, the service was excellent. The staff was very apologetic about the delay and even gave me a complimentary vanilla cheesecake to make up for the wait, which I really appreciated. Overall, I enjoyed both the drinks and cheesecakes and would definitely come back to try more seasonal flavors! My only tip is if you don't have time to wait, skip the drinks for next time as that was the reason for the wait. Another plus is they actually let you try the cheesecakes before you decide which is rare as we normally get to try ice creams or gelato but never cakes. You can tell this place is the owners dream and I absolutely love places like that. The owner let us try some cheesecake and explained which one was his wife and sons favorite as well - it felt like a personal experience. The interior was meticulous from the orange chair in the back to the owners chef jacket. The bags and cases for the cheesecake are so cute too! I got the kabocha pumpkin and got to try the taro and sesame - I love that they have both taro and ube because they're indeed different flavor profiles! I almost felt bad for getting such beautiful packaging only to eat it and throw out the box - I should have kept it as a gift. The owner might save a little by asking for eating in vs out so fewer boxes are used. Regardless the space is phenomenally curated and the vibes are immaculate. I would come back here in a heartbeat! There is care in having a water dispenser, and utensils in a beautifully presented format. This new dessert spot is basque cheesecake meets Thai flavors. The space is a bit tight but very inviting and cute. We got the black sesame cheesecake and lychee Thai iced tea. The cheesecake is nice and creamy. The iced tea is flavorful without being too sweet. And you get the tang from the real lychee. The packaging is also very cute. The lady who I assume it's the owner was very nice and let us sample the flavors. These guys are new but with very limited opening hours. Accidentally stumbled upon this Spanish-inspired cheesecake shop, and I'm so glad we did! The interior is quaint, cozy, and incredibly serene. I especially loved the comfortable lounge chairs, and even the self-serve condiment cart was beautifully decorated with water and other essentials. It's the kind of place that invites you to slow down and relax for a bit. One thing that really impressed me was that they let you sample the different cheesecake flavors before deciding. It's such a thoughtful touch and made choosing much easier. I ended up getting the **Traditional** cheesecake, which reminded me of a smooth vanilla bean cream--light, creamy, and not overly sweet. We also tried the **Pandan** flavor, and that was my favorite. It had a wonderful balance where you could taste both the fragrant pandan and the rich, cheesy flavor without either overpowering the other. I'm really glad we stumbled upon this hidden gem! Oh goodness we have been trying basque cheesecakes everywhere (ktown) and turns out the best one was in Chinatown!!! The girl at the register is very friendly and we tried all the cheesecake flavors. We initially just bought drinks and would come back a few hours later to purchase cheesecakes for the ride home. The drinks taste so natural and healthy. There is no added sugar, make sure to mix the drink! The foam was perfect, we just didn't realize we had to mix until we were almost done with our drinks. For cheesecakes I bought the sesame for the family of aunts and for the first time in my life they loved a cake I bought for them. They usually complain that all the other cheesecakes were too sweet, but this sesame one is perfect for the older generations! The only type of cheesecake I'm a fan of is basque cheesecake, so I was interested to try the Asian flavors from Lamoone. The owner was super friendly and welcoming, while explaining their origin. I was able to sample the pandan, ube, and seasonal sweet potato cheesecake flavor. All of them were fantastic! We ended up ordering the 2 mini cheesecakes ($10.50 each) and Butterfly Pea Flower Tea ($7.50). Cheesecakes had a good flavor and was not too sweet. I've never had Butterfly Pea Flower Tea before but it tasted like sweet Chinese herbal tea. This is a small café, where up to 8 people can sit comfortably. This store was soooo cute. The decor and everything felt extremely elegant which made me want to stop by. Starting off, they have a lot of flavors from Pandan to Taro to Sweet Potato and even Kombucha (Japanese Pumpkin). All of these flavors did make it hard to choose which cheesecake to grab but the owners (I believe) were so accommodating and offered free samples of whatever cheesecake we wanted to try. We chose a couple of flavors and they added a couple themselves as well which made the choosing process so much easier. We did enjoy quite a few flavors because they were all pretty light but decided on Pandan (their top seller) and Red Bean (limited edition for Chinese New Year). Another thing that I really liked was the fact that they have 3 different sizes so we ended up getting 2 smalls to go. The cheesecakes themselves are organic so they only last for 7 days! On top of this, we decided to try one of their drinks from the Coconut cloud series. This was sooo addicting because again, it was not too sweet and overpowering but instead so refreshing. The Peach syrup they used was purchased from Japan and the coconut water was natural so there wasn't any added sugars. There is of course the original version in its namesake city, viral versions across most of Türkiye, and renditions across all of East Asia. Visiting Lamoone was my first time trying a SEA take. All the flavors we tried were excellent, including the pandan and the ube. Unexpectedly, my absolute favorite was the vanilla - when I told the chef this, he nodded knowingly, saying that they pride themselves on the quality of the vanilla beans they use. Is this what it feels like when a person walks into a first-class anything? What it feels like to walk into a brand name store? The customer service here definitely made me feel rich and special. Top notch. My coworker and I was given a sample of all flavors before being told to make a decision. Meanwhile, they made sure to tell us where everything was imported from and showed how much trial and error it took for them to present us with the options we currently have. To start off, I am chinese so of course my very first compliment is to say that they are not very sweet. Just the perfect amount of sweet. They are also very smooth, like having mousse. The signature madagscar vanilla custard is a really good classic one that you cannot go wrong with. Its so rich in flavor. The basil was the most surprising flavor they have to offer. So unique. Upon hearing the flavor, I expected it to be overly floral -- pungent, but it was not. It was just enough to make a scene without overwhelming you. Definitely give it a try. Family favorites include the ube and black sesame. Very strong flavors. I feel like I need to compliment the black sesame more because I have been to many dessert places that just cannot seem to get the flavor out. I just learned they also have a red been and I can bet that my family will love that too. So smooth. I personally am not a fan of the texture of biting into individual beans and they have eliminated that for me. It's become so smooth that even most smoothies cannot achieve it. It shows that they took great care to sieve it through and through for perfection. I felt like the pumpkin (kabucha) was also a special one because I personally like to eat Japanese pumpkin but only when it's prepared a certain way. I usually see people use the western pumpkins in their menu so I was excited when I saw this one. My dad is a fan and apparently my daughter is too. She finished it all by herself. The taro is very subtle but I feel like that is just how real taro are like. The fact that they were able to keep that taro essence despite it being naturally unnoticeable while changing up the texture is pretty cool. Their thai tea and matcha are strong enough to be good without being overwhelming. They recently had me try the chocolate and espresso flavors. The chocolate was good but it did not feel all that special. I bet my daughter would love it though. I really liked the espresso one. A coffee-lover's must-try. Unfortunately they do not have it all the time. They said even their coffee goes out of stock a lot too (hence they cannot make more of the cake). They also let my coworker and I sample the pandan coconut cloud. So good. It is refreshing and not too strong in flavor. It will 100% be a hit during the summer time. I cannot visit too often though because my wallet cannot support me enough. Trying to save it for special occasions (at least the cakes). read more

I ordered the Velvet Ube Latte iced and tried the Madagascar Vanilla, Pandan, and Ube cheesecakes which were ALL phenomenal! The Pandan was definitely my favorite, but the Ube was the softest of the three. I especially love how everything is delicately sweet and not overpowering. The owners were quite kind as well! I enjoying talking with them and learning about their shop which had actually opened last winter. All ingredients are imported as well. So glad I stumbled upon this wonderful addition to the community. The owners were so kind, we arrived after closing and they still allowed us to purchase a small cake and try a few samples before they headed home for the night. I love that the cheesecakes were on the 'less sweet' spectrum (still delicious and sweet as a basque cheesecake should be, don't get me wrong) and were light compared to others I've had which always feels so heavy in the stomach.
