This will be the very first time I walk into the iconic cake shop. The entrance did not look like a cake shop but more like a souvenir smoke shop in my opinion. They do have a menu board but don't have much baked goods for sale so I think the place has a lot of space mainly for sitting. It honestly look a bit ghetto in my opinion. lol When I walked in, the two ladies in the back didn't even greet me. They were too busy on their phones. This was supposed to be the iconic paper lined cupcakes shop but they only had two flavors when I got here and it was around 5pm. I guess they sold out? The flavors they had left were original and butterscotch. The original was $1.25 and the flavored was $1.50. My first impression when I got them were they were tiny. Two bites and I'm done. The flavor was okay honestly. Not the best paper lined cupcakes I've had. I found them a bit gummy. Also super tiny. Probably smallest sponge cakes I've ever seen. I wouldn't buy them again. Not for the size but mainly for the taste. My mother apparently has been coming here for 30 years and the cakes were only 35 cents back then! The translation is literally paper wrapped cake and they really nailed the recipe here. It's not the usual cup shaped cakes but it's a flatter, wider version. Highly addicting. The sponge cake itself is SOOO soft and has great flavor (as described). If you go early you might be able to grab a fresh one - this is totally worth it. They are hot and there is a slight crust/crunch to the top exterior which doesn't retain once it's cool down and put in a bag.
