Great food here and such a nice vibe! I love the interior of this place. It really elevates this place. We started with come happy hour drinks. My friend and I ordered the cucumber strawberry smash and it was delicious! The guys ordered espresso martinis and a drink that contained prosecco. The martinis were great too. For apps we ordered the short rib dumplings and the calamari. Calamari was great, the dumplings were good, we loved the sauce underneath but felt that inside the dumplings was missing something, they were a bit dry. We all ordered the chimichurri steak aside from one that ordered the rib eye. We all loved the flavors. The truffle fries I got on the side were great and so was my side of hot honey Brussels. I've been wanting to try Tallo since they opened, so I went last night for my birthday dinner. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be back. My sister and I ordered the churrasco and rib dumplings, along with cocktails. Both cocktails I tried were terrible. My sister's churrasco came out quickly while I waited for my dumplings. After almost 30 minutes, the waitress came back and told me the kitchen had just informed her they were sold out. By that point, my sister was done eating, so I wasn't going to order something else. I don't understand how it took 30 minutes for the kitchen to communicate that an item was sold out. I ended up leaving after that. Definitely not the experience I was hoping for. On the positive side my sister did in fact enjoy her churrasco and the restaurant's ambiance was lovely. read more

I decided to come here on a Saturday night, and was surprised to see the place wasn't busy. My friend and I got a wine and a cocktail. Both were delicious. Dinner was mediocre at best. The calamari was good to start off with. Nice and light. However, my salmon was dry and the mashed potatoes had no seasoning. My friend got the pesto pasta, and said it lacked salt and overall flavor. The atmosphere was good. Unfortunately with being open kitchen concept I felt that it was a bit hot in there. Saw this place advertised on Instagram and saved it to try. Ended up coming for Sunday brunch. I was able to make a reservation on Toast, which was easy, for 11am. This was my first time using Toast. Typically I use OpenTable or Yelp but they were not available on there to make a reservation unfortunately. Parking was plentiful between the lot and street parallel parking. All the parking was free! Once seated, we were greeted by our fantastic server, Neli. She was absolutely amazing! Very personable & friendly! I ordered the More Cheese Flatbread and a side of Breakfast Potatoes. The More Cheese is a flatbread topped with garlic sauce, mozzarella, Gouda, white cheddar, parmesan, fried parsley, and crushed red pepper flakes. I asked for mine without red pepper flakes. For the Breakfast Potatoes, I questioned if they had peppers in them. Neli and the kitchen made sure they did not put them in. Both were absolutely delicious! The flatbread was perfectly cheesy, the crust was thin and not hard, and the fried parsley was a great addition! The Breakfast Potatoes were crispy and I loved the flaky sea salt on them! Went to Tallo for Saturday brunch, and everything was perfect. Made a 10:30a reservation and it was not too busy. The inside decor seems pretty upscale and a nice atmosphere. The service was warm and welcoming, and our server made us some tasty cappuccinos. We had the PR donuts to start which were pretty good and not too sweet. Walking in, the space is beautiful. The lighting fixtures really stand out and give the restaurant a stylish, inviting ambiance. I'll be honest, I don't know what all my friends ordered but my dish was amazing and they all agreed that theirs were delicious! I moved next door to this admirable restaurant just 2 months ago and my girlfriends wanted a girls night out to wine and dine. So, we made our way here and were super happy we did. I'll be taking my husband here for date night and will definitely become a regular. I had the Cabernet bottle and shared that with my girls. It was superb!! I wish I had remembered to write down the name of the bottle. However, if you're looking for a nice place to wine and dine and not end up spending a gazillion dollars... give this place a try, you won't regret it!!! By the way, the staff is AMAZING! Great place in a Zephyrhills/Wesley Chapel area. It's relatively new and very beautiful inside. Definitely an upgrade to the area. I believe this is the only upscale place in the close proximity. Service was attentive and friendly. We had cod croquettes, vendura pasta and seafood risotto. Food was pretty good, flavorful and portions were decent. Croquettes were nice and filling, definitely could taste some cod. Seafood risotto was pretty good, had decent amount of the seafood. Vendura pasta was good but pretty heavy and it said that it will have pistachio but we couldn't taste it. To finish we ordered tea and cappuccino with oat milk, it wasn't a cappuccino and tasted really bad. It was just coffee with oatmilk and not a good quality coffee. So I wouldn't order a cappuccino from them., Other than that food was pretty good, but a bit pricey. read more

I recently visited Tallo with a reservation for three to celebrate a family birthday. Family had recommended we give it a try. The restaurant has a classy ambiance with great music, making it feel like a high-end destination. However, the noise level was so overwhelming that our party could barely communicate, which made the celebration feel a bit strained. We started with drinks and appetizers, but the experience was mixed. My smoked old fashioned lacked balance; other than the smoke, it tasted like straight bourbon and felt like a very small pour. We also ordered the calamari, which was priced at a premium but served in a very small portion and was significantly overcooked to a "burnt crispy" texture. On a positive note, the accompanying aioli and marinara sauces were excellent. For entrees, the churrasco and the fried yucca were the highlights of the night. However, the filet mignon was surprisingly chewy and difficult to cut--not what you'd expect from a $49 cut of meat. My seafood risotto tasted good, but the portion was small for the $34 price tag, containing only four mussels, three shrimp, and two scallops. There was no lobster to be found in the dish, as stipulated in the menu. When a restaurant positions its pricing alongside the higher-end competition, the execution and portions need to be comparable in every way. Tallo has potential. This is after 2 visits. The ambiance is chic; you can tell time and energy was placed into the aesthetics. Probably one of the few "fancy looking restaurants" in the area. Great for celebrations. The drinks are delicious. The Sunshine Spritz was my fave, if you like drinks on the sweeter side. The watermelon basil is also good too. The potential is really working on elevating the flavors of the food and consistency. I had the seafood risotto my first time here and it was fantastic. I brought my mother after raving about it. They ran out of the risotto so we opted for the lemon chicken and the salmon and we were both not impressed. The salmon was too dry and lacked flavor. I took my leftovers home and never finished it. The chicken, as per my mother, was pretty basic, nothing to rave about. The calamari appetizer was delicious. So the inconsistency has me a bit concerned but if they can really hone in on their craft, they can remain a great staple in Wesley chapel. read more

What a great find! We have lived in the area and was not aware of this great place as it is tucked into a "strip mall" area with a lot of other cute shops and boutiques off the main road. We dropped in while having our dog groomed next door. Cute area and the inside is classy/elegant. We had lunch and enjoyed the burrata and steak sandwiches. I came here for my birthday brunch with friends, I'd been wanting to try Tallo ever since I got the news that they were open. My expectations were blown out of the water. Our waitress was very sweet and the service itself was pretty quick. We ordered the smoked fish dip for a starter and it was so yummy! The dip paired with the baguette was perfect. I then ordered the Steak a Caballo (basically steak & eggs) for my entree. This is usually my go-to, and I have had several bad experiences recently, but I would come back solely for this dish! I ordered my steak Medium and it was grilled to perfection. The chimichurri was the perfect addition, and the eggs and rice were delicious as well. The restaurant itself provided a very elevated feel, the noise level was pretty quiet and it wasn't too crowded. I absolutely enjoyed my experience and will definitely make my way back. The servers were extraordinary, pampering our guests. I had dinner with a group for my friend's birthday and was immediately impressed by the decor when I walked in. I ordered a watermelon mocktail which was SO good, sweet and refreshing. For the meal, I got the cod entree with garlic broccoli. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of the cod entree when I received it so the attached picture is half eaten. The cod was beautifully placed and was pretty tasty with the avocado and tomato tucked in. For the most part, everyone enjoyed their food. For the main dishes, I ordered the Chimi Burger which was very good and cooked perfectly. My fiancé got the steak sandwich and I have to say it was seriously impressive -- probably one of the better steak sandwiches I've tried. So I visited this restaurants for a friend's birthday celebration that I added onto my reservation when booking online and I was kind of surprised this was not acknowledged whatsoever by host or waitstaff. We visited for lunch on Saturday afternoon and were quickly seated. The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning! Aside from the restaurant being beautiful I feel like they really need to work on the menu and fix some issues and inconsistencies. One thing I did not like is that it's 1 menu for lunch/dinner so if you are looking for something lighter their isn't too many options. I hope in the future they offer a lunch menu and dinner menu. We had a very sweet waitress but she did not seem knowledgeable about the food options on the menu so when we asked questions she really didn't know what to tell us nor did she offer to go ask the chef how the dish was prepared. Another negative is we ordered the same appetizer twice (Short Rib Dumpling) because we enjoyed it so much and the presentation was completely different which was off putting. There should be consistency amongst the dishes. Their Parmesan fries were very basic and by basic I mean they just sprinkled some Parmesan cheese sparsely on them. The portion size on the calamari was very small it was a bowl and only half of it had calamari. Aside from these discrepancies we really did enjoy the dessert we tried (Quesitos) which was almost like a deconstructed guava and cheese pastry and our drink which was the Sunshine Spritz - the drink wasn't overly sweet which I really enjoyed! Social media tricked us! We've been following Tallo for months. Never was able to visit Tallo because its in Wesley Chapel. Honestly, what is in Wesley Chapel? Mostly, nothing. Anyways, several reasons why I gave Tallo a one star: *Came to celebrate my friends birthday, no acknowledgment of her birthday by the server and no dessert offered. *One of my friends ordered the surf and turf. When it arrived looked more like turf and no surf. He sent it back because its not worth the money for the amount of food you get. *The manager came over to tell my friend that the restaurant deducts the food a customer sends back from the servers pay! We were shocked and looked at each other mortified. *Food serving inconsistencies. Most of us got Churrusco steak, they were all 3 different sizes. 2 out of the 3 were small portions. *The side of Yucca had too much olive oil in them. They were drenched! *The server never refilled our water unless we asked, didn't tell us anything about the specials of the day, we had to ask, the instagrammable drinks took forever to receive. For the amount of people in the restaurant, there should have been 2 bartenders, but only 1 was present. *Asian Pig Wings, not great. I was expecting fall of the bone. I was afraid the bone was going to go flying, when I attempted to cut the meat off the bone with the knife. We won't be back. Went for our anniversary mid week on a very cold night and yet a nice crowd. The decor is very very nice. Love the open kitchen. We started with the pumpkin soup which was excellent. Ordered the Puerto Rican bread which was warm and delicious. It came with compost butter. That evening the bread was Sobao (which means sweet bread) . I had the chirrasco with rice and tostones. The steak was cooked perfectly and loved the chimichurri. The tostones were perfectly crispy. The white rice was not my favorite but that's a taste thing. My wife had the lemon chicken with mamposteao rice (which is yellow rice with beans cooked in it with chorizo) , fried yuca and garlic broccolini. It was excellent . A great meal. Next time I want the chimi burger. Then came dessert; after listening to choices I went for the Tres Leches after she explained how they make it. They put the slice of cake in middle of plate then fill the bottom of the plate with tres leches. It was heaven. I have to say there is plenty of parking, the restaurant is beautiful inside with exquisite chandelier throughout the restaurant. Their bar stools in the bar area gave a unique look. Tallo is a great local restaurant to add to the neighborhood serving American/Caribbean fusion cuisine. The executive chef is Puerto Rican and did an outstanding job. This place is a vibe. Beautifully decorated and has a great ambiance. Drinks were A+. We seen other tables with the fancy smoky drink but the pina colada was great! As far as the food, the bruschetta was different but very good adding platano and avocado. The sobao bread with a hint of that sweetness was just delish. Main entree I had the churrasco and it was cooked perfectly with that chimmchurri. The garlic potatoes were delicious and veggies. My cousin personally did not care for the potatoes or either entree. Giving grace since they are a new restaurant, but about three food items we were interested in on the menu were not available because they ran out ! The three items that weren't available that we wanted to try was the short rib dumplings, tres leches, & chocolate sensation. So we decided to opt out of dessert and get that elsewhere after dinner. Considering the location is only 10 minutes from me I am interested in going again, mainly due to convenience.
