Orange Espresso Martini- yes please! Found myself wandering around the area with a friend and decided to stop through here! The Colossal burger was extremely filling, loved the elote ribs and the sweet potato fries too (I had them with a side of caramel sauce, thank me later)! AVOID. For real, just avoid it. Came in for a birthday tonight 3/7/25 so the man of honor could get the tomahawk steak. They shoved all six of us into a booth meant for five max, and dark enough to necessitate a small lamp on the table to even read the menu. I got the fillet, and everyone else in our party got burgers or sandwiches. The steaks were good, everyone else said the burgers were fine but overpriced. That's the vibe here btw--good enough food, expensive gimmicky drinks, but overall extremely overpriced for the product. Our bill was over $500 for this meal. The table was too tiny for the number of plates coming out, so we had to get creative to make room--especially for the steaks, as they came out on hot cast iron skillets. The skillets had handles, but unlike literally every other restaurant I've been to that does this, the handles were not covered by anything. It was just a hot protruding piece of metal. The table was very tiny for the amount of plates on it, so I put the skillet down in what I thought would be the least damaging way possible. As I shifted to grab something, my bare arm made brief contact with the skillet handle, but that was enough for it to cause a mild but painful burn. First of all, I was not offered a way to treat the burn. And I'm talking a wet paper towel to treat it would have been enough for me, but I was offered nothing even though one of their employees witnessed it happening. I pressed the cold glass from my drink to it, which is very much not how anyone should handle a burn but I was given no options. When I addressed the issue with our server, I was chastised ("we WARNED YOU it was a hot plate") and I was not given a sufficient answer as to why the handles on their skillets did not have covers. "This has never happened before," he said as explanation, as if that explains why a bar thought hot uncovered cast iron handles was a safe idea. I told him to his face that I doubted I'm the first person this has ever happened to because the tables are too small for the number of plates being put on them. He didn't really address it further, just kind of dismissing it more and trying to downplay my stinging arm. The server basically disappeared after that, except to bring us all ~complementary bottled waters~ and to bring me another cocktail on the house. At no point was I approached by a manager to address what happened. If they came by the table, they did not identify themselves. A responsible facility is going to make a note of anyone being injured for records, but I guess they can claim that I'm lying if I went after them for their negligence. Other than a free $18 cocktail and what were likely $8 bottled waters, they did not acknowledge that I had been injured. What I wanted more than anything was an apology, but instead I was blamed and plied with more liquor (and let's be real: if it WAS the customer's fault for the burn, why would they serve that person more alcohol?) The only reason I didn't push it was because it was my partner's birthday and I didn't want to bring the vibe down for my friends. The TLDR of it all is that they overcrowd tiny, dark tables and then put hot cast iron on it without covers, but it's YOUR fault if you get burned trying to navigate that. If you're in the Downey area and you want a tomahawk, go to 19Seventy in Whittier. It's a better dining experience, better quality food, a better health score, all for a similar price point and the servers won't blame you to your face for getting injured. We came here for the first time to celebrate a birthday for a friend. This place had pretty good reviews and I saw that it was a little pricey so I expected it would be worthwhile and good. Unfortunately I was disappointed. We tried the 12 oz wet aged ribeye, the hangar steak with Cajun shrimp added, garlic mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts and honey walnut shrimp. The Brussels sprouts were decent but a little overly oily. The shrimp batter was way too thick for the small piece of shrimp inside, and my wife commented the mashed potatoes tasted a bit like they were made out of a box. The hanger steak was good -- tender with a nice crust. But the Cajun shrimp I added were just 3 medium shrimp on a stick. Service was pretty good, he was attentive and had a lot of energy, but I have the say the back booth area is a little too dark for my taste having to rely on a small table lap. We also were sat right next to the bar where we were "lucky" to have a guy within arms reach deciding he wanted to yell constantly why face timing people. We tried a couple of signature cocktail drinks and $200+ later, we finished what I would consider a lackluster meal. Music was good though! Most frustrating and irritating restaurant ever to deal with, online it says open till 1 AM - I had been CALLING since 9 PM asking if that was correct, their phone is constantly off and goes straight to voicemail - on the voicemail it says "if we missed your call please text this number" and I had sent 4 texts over a span of 2 hours to the number - so clearly their iPhone they use for handling the phone is just on do not disturb, and NOBODY responds to the texts, still no answer. I drove 40 minutes to get here, arrived at 11:45 and then they tell me when I arrive that the restaurant closed early because "it's dead tonight". MOST FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE EVER AND WASTE OF TIME! If it's "dead" tonight then why has nobody answered the phone or responded to the text messages since 9 PM?? I just wasted 40 minutes driving out here and now 40 minutes to go straight back home. I ordered the most basic burger they have which is called the OG. The meat was cooked perfectly! The fries are added for an additional charge and were very crispy. The menu has loads of different fun burger options. My friend ordered one with Cheetos and surprisingly it was very good! Prices are okay, definitely on the higher end for a burger. Beef burger that comes on a brioche bun - topped with pork belly, american cheese, onion rings and a dab of barbecue sauce. The beef was moist and cooked medium well if I'm not mistaken. But the two THICK pork belly slices were the highlight of the burger. oh man was it mouth watering! The onion rings were good but not necessary as a part of the burger - took them off and ate them as a side. Ordered the Mule Passion Mule Money. Great cocktail. Actually all of the cocktails we had were amazing. The bartenders definitely know what they're doing behind that bar. We also ordered the Steak sando burger - 8oz Filet mignon on a brioche bun - topped with sautéed onions, garlic aioli, and mornay sauce. Unfortunately this was a huge miss. Filet mignon was good, juicy and tender, but the amount of sauce that is put on the burger is awful. It makes the burger a sloppy mess and a pain to eat. We ended up using a fork and knife to eat it since the bottom bun basically dissolved from all the juices. On paper it sounds good but poorly executed. I wouldn't recommend this particular burger. The house fries were excellent though. Crispy and went great with the spicy ketchup. Takeaways - great service and cocktails! Will probably be back for the drinks rather than dinner itself. I did see a few people order steaks around us and they looked delicious, so maybe we'll give those a try next time. read more

I have been wanting to try this place for a while now and today I finally was able to go. Let me start by saying the hostesses has the mostest hospitality. He sat us down quick and did not rush us to order. I asked for a drink recommendation, I am extremely light weight so I told him I wanted something that wasn't to strong but tasty and his recommended drink was perfect. The drink was called ready set go! And the hubby got a Jack n Coke old fashioned. They even had a square ice cube with their logo imprinted on it. Let's get to the food. For an appetizer, we ordered the corn ribs. I have never had corn ribs. It's basically a corn split to look like ribs and whatever sauces and cheese that was on. It was absolutely perfect. I had a filet mignon that was delicious! You have to order the sides a la cart so get ready to share. I got a side of the mashed garlic potato which was very good. The hubs got some burger with lots of cheese and hot Cheetos. He said it was good, something new for him but he said the combination worked. Let me just say that the appetizers and our meals were kissed by an angel before they were served because everything was absolutely perfect! The place is very clean, a bit dark for me but they have a small table lamp for us over 50 to see their menu, LOL. Who ever the chef is I can tell that you take a lot of pride and really worked hard to make your vision a reality. I like that your menu wasn't 4-6 pages long, this tells me you want the food fresh and don't want to waste anything. I will be back for sure to try their tomahawk . It was our first time dining here, and it did not disappoint. We tried different sorts of food, and we enjoyed every single one of it. The elote was exceptional; it was super crunchy and flavorful.
