Stopped by with friends, and it's such a lovely little bar well-deserving of its name - The Local. Feels like it's a hidden little gem that really only locals go to. Great cocktails and beer options. Love a good cider, and it was nice to see some good options on tap. Their pineapple cider was delish. Hubs also loves whiskey, so it was fun to see that they do a mystery whiskey of the week. Good location to catch up with friends or watch a sporting event. Will definitely be back!

Wow !!!! This place is so much fun !!! They went all out for Halloween ! They had drink specials menu and made these cute cool drinks ! There was a dj playing great musics , lots of dancing & singing!! There was a food stand outside the bar , tacos 5 kinds and quesadillas. All the ladies and gentlemen at the bar were so sweet, attentive and on point . I love it here !!!! I will definitely be back !!!!

National Irish Coffee Day!! HAD to arrive at Noon for their opening. Mikey was just unlocking the door. I told him I was just happy to be here and to take his time setting up. But the whirlwind that he is he immediately started searching for Crème de Menthe that I had messaged asking him about. I love seeing a little green swirl on top of an Irish Coffee, though few places still do that. I'm old school. Mikey found the Crème de Menthe and all was good in the world! (Even the LA Fires are subsiding.) Moments after I arrived many others piled in. Lots of laughter and recognition among friends. I just need to get down here more often. Love this place!!

How can you rate this anything less than 5 stars? The Local is the hidden hole in the wall that you want to gatekeep but also let everyone know how great it is! Shoutout to Melissa L. for putting me on, I mean $10 cocktails and Guinness on tap? Legendary Everyone is so nice and welcoming, and the lilac wine cocktail blew me away with how nice it looked, not overly sweet, floral, and with nice balance between the wine and gin, you wouldn't think it works together, but sit down and find out for yourself!

B I G shoutout to Melissa L. for putting The Local on my radar. This bar is tucked away in an unassuming shopping plaza in a quiet neighborhood, but once you walk in, you know you're in for a good time. I've always been a fan of dive bars and have been to quite a few, but this bar stands out in so many great ways. Right after walking in, you can see that The Local has so many locals -- everyone knows everyone and is having a great time. The atmosphere is lively, fun, and welcoming to anyone new. Not only does The Local have great beer on tap, they also specialize in craft cocktails! There's a variety to choose from, they all look beautiful, and I'd say they'd rival high-end bars. I've tried a few, and as a non Whiskey drinker, I was surprised to say Honey 4 my Honey is my favorite so far. All of the bartenders I've met so far are awesome, especially Victor and Jen. They are great at what they do and they have fun banter with the locals. Even the owner, Mikey, takes time to chat and is so passionate about his bar. The last thing that makes The Local my go-to bar now is that it is c l e a n! I love that I can walk around without having my shoes stick to the floor and that I can actually use the restroom when I need to. If you've ever been to even one dive bar, you'd know what I mean. Besides the above, they have a must-have pool table and a few other table games. While the actual bar isn't too big, I can see it getting packed, so if you're planning a visit with a larger group, plan ahead to snag a table and I'll see ya there! *Hot tip: while there isn't food served here, you can order food delivered to The Local and enjoy it there!

    Sooooo yummy! Addicting!

Such a gem! Fun crowd, amazing drinks, super cute vibe, really sweet bartenders. It's small but so, so fun! $10 drinks on Wednesdays, FYI! Get the espresso martini, it's AMAZING!!

I just want to say this place is an absolute gem! Came in for a drink and was lucky enough to catch a UFC fight. The atmosphere was so nice that it just made you feel like a LOCAL. The bartender was on her game and definitely loves what she does. I will be back more than once!

Loved it ! Great service ! Gorgeous drinks! So happy Melissa L. Introduced me to this place. Located at in a very unassuming spot but the vibe inside is awesome! Owner is super friendly and lively! I def will recommend. I most def like this place over another cocktail bar in Ventura ( off Main Street). Prices are more affordable and service is on point. My drink was $13!!! No food here but you can get it delivered or from Next door!!!

Super friendly & hilarious beer deity.

There is no better place with the combination of ambience, service, and excellent craft cocktails and wide selection of beer. They are food friendly, and you can bring in anything from anywhere. Or Friday and Saturdays they usually bring in a local food provider that is well picked and well suited for pub food. Both the owner and the staff are incredible. It is our favorite place. Great for sports, hanging out, first dates and after work, relaxation.

My 700th Review hands down has to go to The Local. Not only is it the best bar in all of the 805, it's also probably my favorite establishment in Ventura Co. as the vibes are always right and the cocktails are perfection. I've only taken this long to review The Local because I never felt that I could do this bar justice in a review but here is my best attempt. The local is located in Camarillo Springs - Camarillo and has been open for 5 years now. It's off the beaten path but word of mouth has spread that this is the best Irish Bar EVER so thankfully people come from all over the place to cozy up to the bar and to check it out for themselves. I'm always impressed when I meet new people at the bar and they tell me from how far they traveled to give this spot a try. I'm blessed to be a real "local" of the Local, but if I wasn't I'd surly make the trip as this bar has fantastic cocktails, beyond talented bartenders, and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. If your a fan of a dive or a higher end cocktail bar The Local meets both demands. I'm more a dive bar kinda gal myself and I love the vibes here. The interior is dark and cozy, yet welcoming. It's a classic neighborhood dive were everyone knows each other and If your a newbie your instantly treated like a friend. However, the cocktails here can always compete with any 5 star trendy bar as they have a huge variety of liquors & unique ingredients to customize your cocktails to your liking. They have an extensive cocktail menu with the classics but also some really unique sips that keep me coming back for more. The staff here are the best. Mikey is the owner and he doesn't need much of an introduction. Everyone loves Mikey and if you give this spot a try you'll likely find him here behind the bar, ready to welcome you and be prepared for him to strike up a conversation with you. Again, regardless If your a newbie or an OG, your treated like family. All of the staff & bartenders here are lovely. Quality people work here and they definitely deserve your business. They are passionate mixologists and turn out delish drinks every time. Oh and don't forget the craft beers on tap! The Local always has an awesome selection of beers and they rotate daily/weekly so it's fun knowing you can always try something new. I've learned a lot about different beers, ciders, and seltzers after drinking here over the years. Just some extra bonuses before I wrap up my review (if I haven't sold you already): this bar is super clean & a comfortable hangout spot, they allow you to get food delivered so it's foodie friendly, they have a nice spacious bar and a good amount of tables inside, the prices can't be beat for the quality of the drinks, and most importantly it's a fun yet safe spot to grab a drink with some friends. The Local is a true gem and the 805 is lucky to have this bar. It's my favorite spot to drink and to have a good laugh, I hope you'll try this spot soon and I'll see you there!

This place was awesome. We loved finding this place thanks to the Yelp community and my local Cam Foodie group, and I'm happy to put a 5 star stamp on it. Welcoming homey vibe inside. Drinks were excellent. We tried a few things like the newbs we were and loved it all. Nice variety on the menu without feeling overwhelming. Strong whiskey selection, which was a huge plus for me. Also, there were lots of fun drinks that my husband was really into. We will definitely be back to this friendly local watering hole.

The vibe is industrial and low-lit, like the kind of bar where the walls have stories but won't snitch. Small space, metal-and-concrete aesthetic, but somehow still warm and cozy. Perfect for a date night or a "let me mentally unpack my life over cocktails" hang with my best friend. What keeps me coming back? The bartenders actually listen. I can walk up and give the vaguest description -- "classic but not sweet, strong but not too whiskey-forward, smooth but still gives main character energy" -- and they'll just... create it. They've made me drinks that aren't even on the menu -- Army Navy, Aviation, etc. -- and every single one was spot on. They always manage to find the right drink for me, which is honestly a skill more people should have. The servers are genuinely nice, the liquor selection is solid, and the energy is chill without being pretentious. I've also heard there's a speakeasy hidden in here somewhere, and trust me, one day I'll find it like I'm unlocking a side quest. Definitely one of my favorite bars in Thousand Oaks -- industrial vibes, great people, and bartenders who match drinks to my personality better than most men can.

The place was full, including indoor and outdoor seating, great ambience and light level, and lovely string lights above the seating outdoors. To start they bring over a delectable dill popcorn which was a rich, salty, dill and butter creation. Totally set a fun tone for the meal. Then we had the crispy Brussels sprouts (ORDER THESE!!!) they were divine, the sesame and lime combination was reminiscent of a great pad Thai, with the perfect amount of sauce and tiny bites of figs which all worked together in a way I wouldn't have expected. For the mains we had the shrimp toast and the pork ribs, both fantastic both well portioned and both 10/10s. Pork ribs fell off the bone easily and were spicy and tangy without overdoing flavor and the shrimp toast tasted like a great gumbo sauce and the shrimps were big! This is a meal I'll be thinking about and recommending to others for a long time, thank you Lark!

The restaurant was busy. Our server was great. She introduced herself (Giana I believe she said) and helped us understand that the intent of the menu and dining approach is a sharing format. The plates and portion sizes vary depending upon the item. Cocktails: The Lark has a very interesting (in a good way) cocktail menu. Our party tried 5 different cocktails. Everyone loved their drink and commented on how well made they were. Food: The restaurant provides complimentary dill pickle popcorn (10/5) as a snack to get your appetite moving. This unique popcorn flavor was one of the best things I had all night. Everyone in our party agreed. We ordered 40% of the menu. The standouts were the fried chicken (5/5), the duck confit (5/5), and the pork ribs (4/5). Dessert: The chocolate pot-a-crème with banana cream (5/5) and donut holes (5/5) were both very tasty. We had a real good experience at the Lark. My only comment as a first timer was gauging how much food to order. We found the menu items in the Farm and Ranch sections were entree sized plates, while the Ocean section plates varied in size considerably. We consequently over ordered and wasted some food. Although our server Giana was helpful, we could have asked more specific questions to assess the quantity of food better. We enjoyed the restaurant vibe, cocktail program and many of the plates. If I lived in SB, I would have dinner here every other month and enjoy the dill pickle popcorn and the fried chicken with their signature Paloma to wash it all down.

My friends and I were sitting in a booth near the karaoke stage when my purse and white sweater accidentally slipped into the gap between the booth and the wall. Apparently, this gap contains part of the karaoke power setup, because the karaoke briefly stopped working when my belongings fell into it. If that area is truly that critical, it seems like a serious oversight that it is left completely uncovered and accessible to customers. The way the situation was handled was completely unacceptable. The karaoke DJ, Eric, came over to retrieve my belongings. Instead of simply placing them back on the booth seat or handing them to me, he threw my purse and sweater onto the floor while yelling at me and my friends. As a result, a bottle of perfume inside my purse shattered, my belongings were scattered, my purse was damaged, and my white sweater was dirtied. What bothered me most was not the accident itself, but the level of hostility and aggression directed toward me over something that was clearly unintentional. At no point was there any attempt to calmly explain the issue or address the situation respectfully. Instead, I was publicly embarrassed and treated as though I had done something wrong rather than accidentally dropping belongings into an exposed gap in the seating area. I was genuinely shaken by the interaction. In all my years of going to bars, restaurants, concerts, and other public venues, I have never had an employee throw my personal belongings on the ground while yelling at me. The response from management was equally disappointing. When two of my friends approached management to express concern about what had happened, they were threatened with being removed from the bar rather than having their concerns taken seriously. I understand that technical issues can be frustrating and that mistakes happen. What I do not understand is why a customer was subjected to that kind of treatment over an accidental incident that could have been handled with a simple conversation. The entire experience was humiliating, unnecessary, and completely avoidable. I hope management takes a serious look at both the exposed setup near the karaoke stage and the conduct of the staff involved, because no customer should be treated this way. If anyone from Whiskey Richard's would be willing to contact me further, I'd genuinely appreciate it.

From fun nights out, special occasions, whiskey tastings, exploring the speakeasy... playing some pool, enjoying libations, taking in live music, perfect outings on the patio, the occasional cigar. So many great memories and experiences created here including some awesome date days with my other half. If stopping in for the first time you'll discover S.G. on 7th and Grand Avenue with a door person usually always at the bottom of the staircase just outside of the restaurant/cocktail bar Zaya (which has been many incarnations including Bar CDMX, V and Mas Malo). Provide them with a valid ID, as anybody over 21 should have a valid form of identification on them at all times, not just for driving or access to 21+ events or establishments, but for safety. And Seven Grand cares about everyone and their safety. They value their staff as much as their customers. And it shows in every way from thoughtful space in all directions, great pool tables, a whiskey, bourbon and scotch curated cocktail menu, even some good brew/beer. Awesome hallways with cabinet lockers, the cleanest restrooms, great dim dark warm lighting, fun fixtures and true DTLA vibes that feel old timey yet also very modern. Seven Grand is open to all and all are welcome. Stellar daily happy hour 4pm to 8pm. I love a good $10 Toki Highball at 5pm, but you can't go wrong with their classic old fashion also. All the bartenders are incredible as well as personable. S Grand is open every day from 4pm until 2am. Loads of lots close by as well as the Metro station at 7th and Metro. Though the trains currently stop just a little after midnight. Rideshare is also your friend, which now includes Waymo in the area. Discover Seven Grand also in San Diego, Austin or Denver. If planning an event you inquire with Stephen via email for personal parties, events with a budget and even corporate parties. They're very accommodating with a good amount of notice. The environment is casual, with indoor and outdoor seating. I love to people watch here! Located next to the Granada and the perfect spot to grab a few drinks before a show. Happy hour is Monday - Friday from 4-6pm and offers a small menu of $9 cocktails. Sometimes it gets pretty crowded depending on what events are happening downtown. My only gripe is that I wish they had two bartenders during the busier nights. They could be short staffed though. Nonetheless, it's still a great spot for good quality cocktails.

Located right next to the Granada Theater on the main drag, it looked to have undergone recent renovations and had a very chill but stylish ambiance. There was plenty of seating on a Wednesday night, and our bartender was a friendly young woman. The hubby got the spiced rum old fashioned, which had an ice cube with a lion's face etched onto it--a nice touch. I got one of their tiny Negronis, which came in a cute tiny mug and cost $5 (it sounded fun). Both tasted great and we had a nice time sipping our drinks and taking in the decor. Alas we had to be on our way so couldn't linger long, but we'd definitely love to stop by again the next time we're in town.
