This was a lovely place to stay in Gettysburg! Only 10 minutes from downtown. The property has 28 or so individual cottages on their sprawling green well landscaped property. There are trails and a pond to go fishing, an event space a fire pit as well as a tavern and grill. Regretfully, We didn't have time to explore all of the lovely property. Our cottage was very large with high ceilings. The bedroom, the bathroom and the living room were all quite large. We had an efficiency kitchen in the living room, as well as a gas fireplace and a TV. The beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows and extra blankets. The bathroom towels were large and plush. The interior was spotlessly, clean with hardwood flooring and cabinetry. I would absolutely stay here again. It seems like an amazing place to stay with a large group or hold some type of event. The price was right. If I ever returned to Gettysburg, I would try to stay here. read more

This is my new favorite style of place. It's like cabin living with the comforts of home. The cabins are located in a secluded area, however not far from town. It's land all around. Our cabin was a nice room, clean with all the amenities we needed. I love the Admiral(K) TN lodge, with jet jacuzzi tub and shower, with a separate room with couch. You can rent the connected corporal quarters if you have a larger party. The staff is so friendly, they brought our food we ordered from the tavern to our room on their go cart. It's like a mini resort for cabins. I would definitely stay here again. So close to downtown Gettysburg and the military park. Just a little heads up, Wi-Fi is not the best read more

We went to The Lodges for the Mothers Day Buffet today. Originally we were upset because we had a confirmation of our reservation. They told us we weren't on the list. They quickly made it right and moved us to the Tavern room. This is a smaller more private area which we enjoyed more than being in the ballroom with the crowd. The food was absolutely amazing. We were shocked though because in addition to the $37 per person charge they added $33 gratuity to the bill. read more

The rooms (cabins) are huge and very nice. Our view from the back porch was woods and that was lovely. The reason I can't give 5 stars is the lack of communication from staff and lack of amenities. We arrived at 850 and were told the kitchen was already closed. The person working then told me there was no other option for food. When I got to my cabin however I looked up DoorDash and there were at least 5 options. Also, there are no ice machines or vending machines. The coffee in the rooms is not good and there was no creamer. When my door dash arrived no one informed me and they wouldn't bring it to us. Overall though I would recommend. Just remember to bring your own ice and snacks and coffee. read more

Very nice clean rooms BUT at $322/ night you would expect hospitality service .. no beds made or towels replaced or anything straightened up for three days . We stayed at The Lodges of Gettysburg for two nights during our vacation to Pennsylvania in June 2023. We were traveling with two children so having the cabin with two bedrooms and bathrooms was very convenient. The front desk was very friendly during check-in and explained the different aspects of the property. Our kids decided they wanted to try their luck at fishing so we took advantage of the free rods available at the front desk. The property was very quiet and well kept. Only issue we had was the main refrigerator was not working, but since we were only staying for a short time and we had the efficiency refrigerator I did not notify staff until we checked out so they could get it in order for the next guest. The location is secluded enough to be peaceful but is only a 10-12 minute drive to downtown Gettysburg. They had a restaurant on location and have a breakfast basket available for purchase which was large enough to last the four of us until lunchtime. I wanted to add the week prior to our stay they called me to advise the lobby was closing at 11pm and wanted to know when we would be checking in. After some researching, I realized I booked the wrong week, but they were able to accommodate moving the reservation to the following week without any issue, so I considered myself lucky that the lodge had the availability to do that (and was willing to do that without penalty). The female I dealt with was very pleasant and professional, even though my mistake caused some confusion. We would definitely stay there again the next time we are in the area. read more

If you are bringing your family to Gettysburg, this should be a serious consideration as your place to stay. It is an easy drive into town and to the battlefield, but you get to stay in a quiet country camp like setting. The cabins are spacious and they have various sized from 1-3 rooms. The cabins are clean and modernized on the inside. They have rustic charm with all the modern amenities that you would want. The room appeared as advertised on the website. The AC worked nicely. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. The check in process was easy and the staff friendly. The check in lobby is not open all night, but they do have staff manning phones in case you need something in the middle of the night. Our next family trip to Gettysburg we will be staying at the Lodges. read more

To be honest, this review would have been better except that our neighbors who shared a wall with us were the worst I've ever dealt with. There's no night staff, so I cannot complain about noise, the walls, like I said, are paper thin, so I can hear about how "Rob ruined everything and it's the night of her (the girl absolutely screaming's) best friend's wedding!" And not to mention, we heard who may have been Rob puking his guts out, and what might've been someone being slapped around. It's incredibly frustrating because it's a nice enough venue, but if it will allow guests like this, with walls that are about as thin as the half ply paper that you find in a boot camp, you're almost better off in a trailer park. read more

We enjoyed our stay at the Lodges at Gettysburg. We stayed in a single cabin, and found the decor pleasant. Air conditioning worked well and had local control. The kitchenette includes a sink, counter space, some dishes and cups, and a microwave. The Keurig machine was supplied with coffee and tea pods. The bed was comfy and the bathroom included a shower. The entire cabin was modern and clean. The view from the front of the property is quite nice. Two items to note, neither of which bothered us: 1. There was no telephone in our room. 2. The wooden floors are squeaky, which might be an issue for light sleepers. read more

Be careful. Says pet friendly. When we got there the only room was the accessible room. It was not great. Did not have a slate shower, a great kitchenette or a sofa to name of few things that were complemented in other reviews. The only thing in the kitchen was a microwave and a small refrigerator. The door opened into the bedroom. The second bedroom had to walk through the king to get to the bathroom, kitchen or door so no privacy. No sofa. Two older armchairs only. Small Tv hung high to the ceiling. The bed was great and the room was clean. Really small wiindows looking at the driveway. The deck had two chairs but it was shared with another's cabin and you just sat there facing each other! Perhaps the other cabins are nicer but we were not offered a choice. It was kinda like an old hotel room not a cabin. read more

Quaint Place, Rude Staff The Lodges are about a 10 minute drive from downtown Gettysburg. The cabins have a small kitchenette that contains dishes and silverware but no place to cook. They have a small refrigerator and microwave. There is no restaurant on site, nor is there a place to buy snacks. Make sure you have packed all your snacks. The website states there is a small tavern on site for their guests but it was not open when we were there. We had a strange check in experience and other members of the wedding party stated the front desk person was rude. Weirdest thing is that the staff was monitoring how many drinks everyone had at the open bar. I have never seen that before. We went for a friends wedding, we won't be back. Thanks read more

Wow! This place is beautiful and the Capt. Lodge was spacious. I was honored to DJ at a wedding here Thanksgiving Eve for a fellow service member. They picked an awesome place to have it at as the venue itself was spectacular. Food was buffet style and the chicken and pasta was delicious. The coordinator and staff were all super and attentive. I know they went out of there way to take care of us DJs and for sure the wedding party got 20 times that! I did not stay the night but my DJ partner did. I would come back to stay here for a more romantic stay. I also would suggest this place for a wedding or some sort of retreat. read more

You know how sometimes you need to get AWAY? Like, you hit a level of stress where even a weekend trip to Gettysburg becomes the most exciting idea ever? My partner sent me a link and before I could even register what I was doing, the trip was booked. When we arrived, the woman was rude. She grumbled about how she couldn't wait for her day to end, gave me directions to our cabin, and that was that. We discovered that our "private" cabin adjoined to a second room. But it was clean and fine. After dinner in town, we returned to the cabin and did exactly what I needed to do: sleep. At 11pm, we were awoken by the arrival of our wasted drunk neighbors yelling about their fun night. We waited for them to calm down until the man suggested in a booming voice that they HAD to call Heidi. The woman said "A-MEN" so many times I thought I was at Church. They called Heidi and screamed about a litany of things, including how he would go gay for Ryan Reynolds. Finally, we started banging on the walls and shouting profanities at them, requesting that they shut up. Since the walls were PAPER THIN, I believe they ignored us. The woman at check in explained if we had any problems after 11pm, to call a different number. I didn't want to call. I wanted to sleep. So we tossed and turned in bed for what seemed like forever while I stewed and planned out how I would kick their door down and rip his throat out, Mortal Kombat style. Finally, I realized these idiots were killing my relaxing weekend, so at midnight, I called. The man on the phone seemed confused and asked what state I was calling from. Was "Rage" an acceptable answer? I gave him our room number and he said he was far away, but would get in his truck and head over shortly. I don't think he ever showed up, but by 1am, the couple next door decided to go to sleep. read more

Staff was so gracious, food was phenomenal, setting was beautiful, and accommodations were comfortable & clean. I know this sounds weird though I had the best side salad I've ever had at a restaurant -- the vegetables and lettuce were SO fresh and yummy. My meal was excellent as well. Worms, worms everywhere! We stayed in Texas which we discovered was infested with millipedes, especially in the bathroom. They were all over the floor, walls and ceiling. We couldn't use the shower. When we politely complained to staff, they said, "Yeah. All the cabins have them." If they are OK with all the insect infestations in their cabins, THEY SHOULD POST IT ON THEIR WEBSITE to give us fair warning. By the way, the TV didn't work properly either, so there was no respite from the only other form of entertainment: the millipede obstacle course. We couldn't get out of there quickly enough. read more

The TVs were tiny but honestly you really should not be coming to Gettysburg for the TVs. It said a jacuzzi tub. And it was basically a bathtub with water jets. We stayed here for the weekend and wow! What a beautiful place! Sure, they are currently doing construction, but the cabins are lovely, quiet and peaceful. We had an issue w our heater. The staff offered another cabin, but we just stayed in it. The 2 space heaters proved to be enough. The view is amazing. At night, we could see every constellation in the sky. Plus, it was so quiet. I'm so glad we stayed here (less than 10 min to downtown Gettysburg) instead of an overpriced b&b. The breakfast baskets were not the best. The muffins/Danish were not a good choice. The coffee was weak no matter how we brewed it. A suggestion: more healthful choices like oatmeal or yogurt w fruit. Or a hot plate where we could cook something. We ended up just eating in town. This was the only bummer. Overall, great place and reasonably priced. read more

Beautiful lodges with spectacular views. I could see Little Round Top and the sprawling battlefield from the lodges. It was nice to go back to such a peaceful place after dealing with the crowds all day in town. I was there for the 150th but I will stay here for return visits too. The lodge was very comfortable and had one bedroom and another bed in the living room. It had an HDTV in both rooms, free WiFi, mini-fridge, sink, plates, silverware, microwave, and Kuerig. It's about a 10-15 minute drive into town, but well worth it! read more

Very cool place to stay and I will definitely go back on my next overnight stay in the Gettysburg area. The individual cottages are way better than standard hotel rooms...private, quiet, very clean. However, I'm not "sold" on the food at Gloryridge Tavern. The lump crabmeat in the sandwich and sliders was excellent, but crap dip and chips were only so-so. We stayed in the little part of the Kentucky cabin, it's nice but not what we expected after seeing the interweb pictures. The management may want to mow the high weeds around the cabin and call an exterminator to kill the bugs inside the cabin. We live in a more rural area than this and don't wake up with something crawling on us. read more

I stayed one night mid-week in late October. The overall setting was beautiful, The Lodges is located on a hill in the rolling country side, with panoramic views looking to the E/NE. One can see Little and Big Round Top, Culp Hill and other icons of the great battlefield from the central lodge veranda and from the individual lodges. Beautiful! The service upon check - in was very friendly and helpful. I stayed in a Captain's Lodge (Michigan). The setting is rustic, but everything was new, clean and all the modern accommodations were available and in good working order. The continental breakfast at the main lodge was nice. The purpose of my his it was to visit the GB and Antietam battle sites and Harpers Ferry. I will definitely stay here again on any future trips and perhaps stab longer than one night! read more

Read before booking any package deals at this place! My boyfriend booked a night at the lodges for my Christmas present. The package was the ghost hunter package. This includes a nights stay at the lodges, a $50 credit towards The Farnsworth Inn, & a 2 hour extreme ghost tour of a civil war battlefield or abandoned civil war hospital. I would have given this place a 5 star rating if it wasn't for dinner(which wasn't at The Farnsworth Inn) or the ghost tour(which didn't have a single thing to do with civil war Gettysburg). When we checked in we immediately got switched to another food location (I couldn't even eat my food at this other place & had to spend extra just to use $50 at this dumpy local corner bar) which we were expecting a nice romantic dinner! Ew. Then the ghost tour was in a murder house of a woman who died 32 years ago and had nothing to do with civil war times. Unacceptable! The whole reason for our trip was this tour, my boyfriend a war buff and I'm a ghost tour lover. At check out on March 19th we expressed our concerns to three people during check out who told us the GM would call, a week went by they never did, we called again March 24th and spoke with a man who said we'd get a call from the GM, another week goes by no call, my boyfriend then emailed on March 31st to get a call back from the sales department who expressed her apologies for all of these issues in communication on April 5th and said the GM would call and we would be getting a refund. It's now April 17th, no call or refund. This GM is a disgrace and this place is a rip off! Completely ripped off by everything we signed up for and now that they have our money the don't care! I stayed in a Captain's Lodge (1 bedroom with bathroom and kitchen) this past weekend with my husband and baby. The cabin was very nice - the decor was tasteful, the cabin was well-equipped, everything seemed new, in good repair, and most importantly, clean. We had the Alabama cabin, which was nice as it's on the end of the row, so somewhat more private. The view was spectacular (although it could have been significantly better if it weren't for the illuminated pop machines on the back porch of the main lodge). The cabin came equipped with linens, towels, toiletries, iron/board, hair dryer, keurig (regular and decaf), sugar, sweetener, microwave, plates, bowls, silverware, wine opener, various glassware, small container of dish soap, paper towels, small fridge with freezer (that actually froze things), 2 bottles of water, television, wifi, and electric 'fireplace.' Although they might be aiming for a rustic feel, it certainly was not a rustic experience. The main bedroom area was very spacious, which we really appreciated with all the extra baby gear. Check in/out was quick and easy. They offered a daily continental breakfast for $5.95/person, but we did not partake. I have only 2 complaints from our stay. First, is that the bathrooms have only a shower, no tub. Normally I wouldn't mind a bit, but a tub is actually pretty important for people with small children. We had to bathe our 6 month old in the bathroom sink, which was a really tight fit. The description on the website says that the cabins have an "expanded bathroom." I really think they need to indicate that there is no tub. The second is that the shower did not drain very well. We called to have housekeeping address it, and after it was marginally better, although still not great. In summary, I would stay here again, especially if with children. So many of the B&Bs in the area did not allow guests under a certain age. read more

We called around 10 am to inquire about early check in, Jess told they were moving quickly and we should be good for 1 pm check in and she would call us when ready. We arrived at 1:15 and Jess said the room was not ready and that she said she would call us. She said we could wait around since it shouldn't be too much longer. When we checked back aroun 3 pm she said they only had 4 more rooms to do and one was ours. Nona, the front desk manager overheard the conversation and told Jess that " it'll be what it'll be " since it was Saturday and we were there for a Sunday wedding our room would be one of the last done. You would think since we were waiting in person they would have expedited our room. They never should have told us early check in was possible. Nona didn't seem to want to help the situation at all, she just hung around listening in on our conversation and putting her two cents in whenever she wanted. She should have identified herself and try to remedy the problem. "It'll be what it'll be " is not a professional way to handle an issue when the customer is right there. Some front desk customer service training is required. read more

Spacious, modern-rustic, well-appointed accommodations. Just minutes from Historic Gettysburg and Liberty Ski Resort, but with the sense of having your own secluded lodge. I reserved the Lieutenant's Lodge which suited our party of 6 perfectly. There is a gravel parking spot for 2 cars in front of the lodge, a welcoming porch with chair to enjoy the views of the grounds. I was surprised at how open and spacious the accommodations were. Very clean and plenty of room to spread out here. The Lieutenant's Lodge has a lock-off (which I later discovered) is shared with the Captain's Quarters. Good to know if you are looking for even more room. The common room had a tv, kitchenette, sofa bed, end and coffee table, wing-back chair, and desk. I believe our favorite part of the room was the remote-controlled fireplace/stove. A nice warm touch after playing in the snow all day. The bedroom is also very open with its high wood beamed ceiling. There is a TV, closet with iron/board, chest, side table, alarm clock, valet, and 2 plush queen beds and pillows of down. The bedroom is attached to the bedroom and is nicely tiled with modern fixtures and toiletries. Never ran out of hot water. The kitchenette is well-equipped with a microwave, coffee maker (coffee/tea/honey/sugar/hot cocoa included), compact fridge/freezer, sink, plates, glasses, and utensils. There counter seating for two. The groundskeeper did a phenomenal job at plowing the roads and walkways after an overnight snowfall and was responsive at my request for a light bulb change. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable for recommendations for local eats and sights, and prompt when I needed towels. I used the Keurig at the reception desk for my morning coffee, just my preference. The resort was hosting a wedding reception one evening of our stay and they had fireworks--what a treat in the middle winter! Took a morning stroll and the view at sunrise is incredible. Saw deer across the lake. I was told that spring at The Lodges at Gettysburg was even better and to come back then. I may have to take up that offer! read more

We went for a New Years Day buffet. The setting and service was superb. The food which was catered by the Carriage House in Emittsburg Md however left much to be desired. It was cold. The pork and sauerkraut, vegetable lasagna and chicken all were cold. The cream of crab soup, which is normally excellent, was also barely warm. I'm not sure what the disconnect was since they do a lot of catering there. It was a great idea, but next year, please, we would love to come back, but only if the food is going to be warm at least. I must say that if you are handicapped like we are, the service was above and beyond. Our waitress helped my aging Mother and attended her every need. The open ballroom gave us lots of room to move about and the floors are easy to walk or drive across. Kudos on great service! read more
