    Clam chowder
    Kim K.

Another amazing recommendation from the staff at THE BANDON INN. We came in for a late dinner and and after reading reviews we didn't have any high expectations. But boy were we surprised! We were greeted immediately and sat. The vibe was a casual seaside home feel. Our server,Bethany, was such a delight! She was incredibly friendly and polite. She took our drink order and have us time to go over the specials and menu. My husband opted for the pork chop dinner and had a salad and clam chowder. They bright out some warm bread, which was delightful! (Especially the cranberry bread!) The pork chop was moist and flavorful. Great portions. And the clam chowder was thick and delicious! There's a great menu selection. And they had a big dessert menu, which we ordered and opted to take back to the hotel with us. Everything was great! Special shout-out to Bethany, as she really was as sweet as the pie we ordered! A true asset to the establishment! She really did make our time there extra bright. Definitely worth a stop in.

We were enjoying Old Town Bandon and chose The Wheelhouse for a quick lunch of clam chowder. It was a nice and casual place with good service. It has the ambience of having lunch at a friend's house. They, also, have a room upstairs for dinner that is pretty plain but has a view of the port so we made plans to return for dinner. Dinner was excellent from start to end. The salad was even stand out with a flavorful homemade balsamic honey vinaigrette. The shrimp skewers and scallops were cooked perfectly and delicious. The side of green beans, peppers and onion was a standout favorite. Nicole was our server and was excellent. She was alone for the first part of dinner and kept all tables serviced with a smile while being the bartender, as well. She is definitely a big part of why this was a good experience. I recommend The Wheelhouse. The food and service is fantastic. The only suggestion is that I would add a vegetarian/vegan meal to the menu for diners who do not eat meat.

Solid local restaurant with many menu options. Our table in the diving room had beautiful views of the ocean (despite the rain). We didn't get up to the crows nest but heard that was a great place for views. I chose grilled shrimp on a skewer for my meal and rice as my side. The meal came with bread for the table and a starter salad. I loved the honey vinaigrette dressing served with it. The shrimp was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their choices. Service was excellent. We were seated right away. Our server stopped over and indicated she'd be right with us as it was very busy. Great stop.

Clam Linguini, excellent and sooo many clams!

This is a busy yummy comfy place. Excellent service, excellent Menü and my choices were truly delicious. From the Wheelhouse salad to the clam linguini. Just yum! Highly recommend this lively seaside restaurant when visiting Bandon

5Service! 4 View 3 Food sorry but the steamer clams were over cooked and the broth tasted weird. The grilled bread served with the clams was from last week. Yuck House made blue cheese dressing 5. Clam chowder o.k. (does have bacon for those concerned. Better clams at Tony's Best clam chowder and fish and chips at BANDON BAIT!

    Oyster shooters

The service is outstanding. We wanted oyster shooters but did not see them on the menu. Our server was more than happy to make us some. Our waters were never empty and someone is constantly walking around busing dishes so your table stays clean. They serve a citrus water. The rockfish po boy was my favorite meal I had in Bandon. My daughter who doesn't like fish actually asked me if she could have some of my sandwich because she loved it! The bread was fresh and the fish was flavorful and not greasy! It was crispy on the outside but flaky on the inside. The clam chowder was nice on a rainy day but I found it to need a little more in the flavor department. It has a nice ambiance on a cold rainy day. You can look at the water and watch the boats. It is rather cold inside. Bring a jacket so you can enjoy your meal without shivering.

    Seafood stuffed crepes

3.5 stars... Nice sunny room with friendly staff. Ice water, side salad and (complimentary and warm!) cranberry and sourdough bread came out quickly. Butter was soft and ready to spread. Recommend the chef offers a home made vinaigrette, it isn't expensive and would elevate the salad. Also, the mix of greens was good and fresh, but watch the large chunks of iceberg lettuce . The crepes were good, there was a lot of liquid in the dish, but it was absorbed by the crepes as it cooled. Also, nice lumps of crab meat and very cheesy. It seemed unnecessary to have a side starch with the crepes, but it works. The sautéed veggies were crisp and flavorful. The jambalaya rice was dry, but good flavor. Everything was at the correct temperature. Speaking with the hotel concierge afterwards, she said that the restaurant is consistent in its food and very popular. A pleasant experience after a long drive.

    Stuffed prawns
    Denise A.

My husband had the Rockfish Yucatán and a cup of clam chowder. He said it was very good. I wasn't very hungry so I opted for the prawns on the appetizer menu. It was full of flavor and just enough. Sukhee was an awesome attentive waitress.

    Rock cod and chips

We had a totally great experience here today. Food was tasty, well cooked, portions good. Had fish and chips and Bacon Cheeseburger. As the restaurant was busy, the food took a little while longer to arrive. Well worth the wait. The waitress was very cordial, fun and helpful. The young man who brought our water was awesome! He was very diligent about ensuring our waters (and others) were always full. A pleasant change from other places that never offer refills. Thank you.

    Sherried Scallops. So good.
    Victoria H.

I went an hour before closing alone. My service was so friendly and so fast! I was so pleased. My food was delicious and be aware portions are big! I had pasta for two days after that haha. Scallops were cooked to perfection and the cream sauce they tossed the linguine and scallops in would make you want to take a bath in it. Highly recommend when you're swinging through Bandon. It's also one of the very few places with somewhat normal hours that stays open until 9. Most other places are closed or you get bar food :-/

The sunsets here in Bandon are like little Picasso's.

The restaurant itself is small, clean, with a good amount of seating. We came in when the machine was broken so they only took cash. Thankfully, there's an ATM in the Bandon cafe down the street so it wasn't much of an issue. I ordered the dungeness crab and shrimp sandwich at market price which was around $21. A little pricey for a sandwich, but worth it. The sandwich was packed to the brim with fresh crab and shrimp. You have the option of coleslaw or fries. I chose the fries which were fresh and flavorful with a nice crunch. The sandwich was extremely filling and can easily be split between 2 people. I'm tempted to come back again one day to try their fish and chips and clam chowder as well.

Not terrible. Everything came piping hot except the coleslaw it was chilled. The batter was a little thicker than I prefer and even cooked to a deep brown (not burnt) there were clumps against the fish that was still uncooked doughy batter. The batter had interesting seasoning that was a bit on the sweet side but overall tasty. Six big nuggets of fish. I forgot to get a picture right away but pulled two out. Lots of fries. Under seasoned but for health reasons of various people that is understandable. Coleslaw was not bad, had dried cranberries which was different. Not bad but not life changing. Overall a good meal.

We received a list of restaurants from the front desk and I checked yelp and Wilson's Market showed up- so we tried it. Well- let me just say- I'm so glad we did! My husband and I traveled the Oregon Coast for a week and who would have thought that our favorite meal would come from a deli in a one horse town like Bandon? When we walked in, an amazing guy with an epic beard clocked us for the tourists that we were and started telling us about his amazing offerings. He said he had smoked pork, smoked chucked, and carne asada. "If you are new here (duh!), you might want to get three tacos so you can try all three," he explained. Well, who were we to go against his recommendation? We noticed the other chef putting curly fries into a burrito and he said "that's for your next visit." Ok.... On a ten day road trip and we came here based on rave reviews including several about vegetarian options. Perhaps the meat options are delicious. But I got a veggie nacho and a veggie burrito and it's the first time in a long time I threw my burrito away. It was white rice, a few shreds of lettuce, unseasoned black beans, and since I ordered it spicy, some sauce that tasted like straight fire without any other flavor profile. I don't want you to think I can't handle spice. I order spicy at most restaurants. This burrito was one of the spiciest yet blandest things I've eaten in a long time. My child's mild veggie nacho was fine but again I wouldn't go out of my way to come here for it.

She was also quick with bringing me ketchup and hot sauce and anything else I asked for. She really made both meals excellent :) The food was just as good as the service! My Traditional Breakfast really hit the spot! Thanks again to Kat for recommending the bacon. My gyro was a little plain, because I got mine without cheese and tzatziki. Odd policy IMO; seems like it makes more work for the servers. But that is a very small complaint for an overall very great restaurant!

When the food was dropped the server took off so fast we couldn't ask for anything to dip our fries in and she never came back to check on our food quality. She walked by and dropped the check drive by style and never asked how the food was. I think the servers must know the food isn't good. We sat there (it was relatively slow) and watched our server just stand around and chit chat. Also we had to ask for a rag to clean our table which we didn't purposefully sit at a dirty table, the few smaller ones available were all dirty. For $20 burgers you'd think they would be amazing, normally you're asked what temp you want your burger cooked. It was just frozen Sysco garbage. Not worth the money at all. Lord Bennett's was still high in the ratings and since my wife and I almost always split our entrees, we went here. Not only did they not charge a split fee, they split it for us. We started with a small Caesar Salad and a bowl of Clam Chowder. Both were excellent. We paired it all with a glass of King Estate Pinot Noir, one of our favorites (we're from Eugene, so we're biased). The main entree we split was the Pasta with Applewood House-Smoked Salmon. It was in a creamy white cheddar sauce with bow-tie pasta and was phenomenal. There is one other place we went that had a similar dish in Port Angeles. Fresh salmon and house-smoked is what does it, I think. Our server was attentive, but we were not rushed. She checked in periodically and never made us feel like they wanted us to just eat and go. The restaurant is also oriented to the Pacific Ocean and almost every table has an ocean view. Highly recommend. (One two-star review from a few months ago said they were "not impressed but if it were half the price it would have been good." We disagree). We felt the prices were VERY much in line with a nice dining experience, which this was. The salmon was $33, the small Caesar was $9, the Chowder was $8 and each glass of wine was $16.
