This is my husband's favorite place in Bandon-- we've always had exceptional customer service and the food was piping hot every time on our most recent trip! I've been traveling to Bandon for years, ever since I was a child, and have seen The Station Restaurant go through many changes. Admittedly, there have been times where it has been so-so, and we'd go more for tradition's sake as a family. However, I've been pleasantly surprised since it's had its re-do! It kept its nostalgic feel, but a different kind. The diner feel is fun and homey, as well as having some fun souvenirs available for purchase. We tried the Station Restaurant on a recent Wednesday morning. We arrived around 8:30 and were able to be seated immediately. When we left about 45 minutes later, there was a line of people waiting. Our waitress mentioned it is often busy, so get there early. What I liked about the Station? The ambiance! Total diner vibe with a Train Station theme. There are lots of signs and artwork to remind you of a train depot. They have a soda fountain counter like you would see in an old drugstore or diner. Their chocolate milk was excellent. The prices seemed reasonable compared to other restaurants post COVID. I also loved the service. We were sat promptly. A server brought us out waters and took our beverage orders. A waitress came by right after that. She checked in on us multiple times. We could see she was busy but she always took the time to check in on us. What could have been improved? The food. I had biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were fine, but honestly, that gravy was not good. Grainy, not sure what the flavor was, but I would not call it sausage flavor. I was really disappointed by these. We also had the sausage and eggs. It was fine, but we usually clean our plates and this time it was, 'eh, I'm good'. Wandered into this place for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of items. Open 8am To 8 pm they offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. A big menu offering diner classics, sandwiches, burgers and seafood combos. I tried the crab and shrimp melt and it was outstanding! My husband had the Philly cheesesteak and said it was very good. Both came with choice of fries or tater tots. Be sure to try the strawberry lemonade it's fantastic! The staff are really friendly but the wait time to get your food is pretty slow. I love this place. The food is..ok..it is hit or miss, we try to eat easy meals here, it is a good stop on the way to the beach or Dragonfly. They are insanely slow (plan for a 2 hr meal) BUT the waitresses are wonderful, they chat, they are engaging (they are the reason for the 5 star) they are attentive (albeit slow) and are available and kind all the time. They treat our kids well, they bring coloring sheets, crayons, bring the fun crazy straws, and their meals are always exactly how they like them... The classic bait and switch has hit Bandon, Oregon. I've enclosed a photograph of the little placard that adorns each table. It was there 2 days ago, when we had breakfast and again tonight. Same placard. We planned our day around going to the station at four o'clock for the burger and beer special. As the placard CLEARLY states 1 to 6, we thought 4 o'clock was the perfect time. We got there a couple minutes before 4. We were seated.My companion went to the bathroom.And I told our sweet waiter that we were there for the burger and beer special and he says oh, that's over with at 4. By this time it was 4:05.So really?If it was over at four , there was nobody in the restaurant you couldn't give two senior citizens a twelve dollar burger and beer at 4:05? WHEN THE SIGN CLEARLY SAYS 1-6. There was another young waiter standing around twiddling his thumbs and I asked him is there a manager here and instead of a professional answer he just looked at me and said "nope". Then asked if there was anything he could do for us.He said he'd be happy to call the manager and came back 5 or 6 minutes later and said sorry, no,we can't honor that incorrect sign that we have posted. The manager!!! I feel as if the owner knew this is how her business was being run when she's not there my guess is that she'd be horrified.This was absolutely an infuriating encounter. This is by far the best place I've eaten at in Bandon! The Mom and Pop diner delivers wonderful service and amazing food. Their gravy is the best I've ever had at a restaurant, and their bacon was cooked to perfection. If you're visiting, don't forget to look for the postcards, they're only 5 for $2. read more

My partner and I came down here with my seven year old twin boys for a weekend getaway. I had planned to make breakfast in our kitchenette at our hotel, but after a busy morning, I decided that restaurant breakfast would be much easier. I looked at a few places and settled on trying out The Station. My first phone call disconnected with no answer, so I was mildly concerned that the restaurant wasn't open due to COVID restrictions. My second attempt was more amusing though. As it was ringing, my son decided that this was the moment he was going to dive bomb me and my partner in bed. So as he launched himself off the foot of the bed onto my partner, she screamed almost as loud as him and that was the moment that the phone call connected with the restaurant. This resulted in all of us laughing so hard we couldn't breathe, because the woman's comment was, 'Oh my goodness, I thought I was getting a call from my own home!" That simple initial interaction and the warmth and friendliness in her voice made this feel like a family conversation. My partner is severely gluten allergic, and we were promised that all precautions would be made, and that the meat and egg cooktop was completely separate from all bread products. We ordered a pretty standard breakfast: steak and eggs for my partner, chicken friend steak for me, French toast, eggs, and bacon for one son, and a huge pancake, eggs, and sausage for my other son. I like my chicken fried steak coating to stay crisp, so I ordered the gravy on the side, and I was assured this would not be a problem. On arrival, there was a group of people waiting for their food, and the staff inside were busy, answering phones, packing up food, and cooking. I thought I'd have a hefty wait, but almost as soon as I got inside, my order was ready. Everything was packaged perfectly, the gravy was a generous amount packed away in a separate container, and we had all the condiments and utensils we needed. When we started eating, it was absolutely wonderful. My partner's steak and eggs were done perfectly, my CFS was great and the gravy was very delicious and a perfect accompaniment. My children devoured everything on their plate and started sniffing around my hash browns. We're looking forward to our next vacation in Bandon and we will definitely be having breakfast at The Station the next time we're in town. We have been here twice for lunch and food and service excellent. Be prepared to wait because they are busy. Hours are different than what shows on Yelp. If I recall correctly they are: Wed-Sun 8:00am - 8:00pm Mon-Tue 8:00am-2:30pm My husband and I had Club sandwiches and Tater Tots our first visit. Very fresh and tasty. And today he had Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs. They give a huge cup of coffee, so he was a happy camper. And I had the Bandon Burger, with Onion Rings. It had Bacon on Ground Chuck with the most tender type bun/roll I have ever had. And the bacon? Wow, Two thick and long pieces of bacon. I gave one to my hubby and he was impressed. This past visit to Bandon was my third visit to this delightful, quaint seaside town. On my second visit, my companions had decided to stop at The Station for breakfast. As we entered the building, I was immediately taken by a strong sense of the cleanliness of the entire establishment. I had no problem with the staff not being masked, it was actually a relief to not deal with that. During both visits our servers were extremely friendly and accommodating.
