The family enjoyed eating dinner looking out at Lake Michigan. The Cobb Salad, chicken salad croissant, and beef sliders were tasty . Looking forward to returning to go to the rooftop.

Food and drinks are tasty and the views are amazing. It's a great place to watch a sunset. The Sunday evening live music is also great.

The main dining room has a view of the kitchen, and the second dining room is adjacent to the bar. I recommend the bar, as I am not a fan of open kitchens and if you are lucky you can get a table against the windows, secluded from the hubbub. It is a loud, energetic space. They have a solid cocktail program, particularly their riff on a Black Manhattan with bourbon and Demerara - a refugee from an Old Fashioned. I recommend swapping out bourbon for rye and holding the Demerara - its an excellent drink. A good collection of Italian and American wines. We ordered the Lemelson, a light bodied Pinot from Willamette Valley. It paired well with the lobster ravioli special and roast chicken. For food, we ordered the aforementioned entrees, and started with the meatballs and the beet salad. The meatballs were superb, flavorful and juicy. The beet salad was delicious, as were the entrees. Just a note, they have a very heavy hand with the sauces. The lobster ravioli came with a cognac cream sauce that painted the plate. It had much more tomato than I was led to believe but the dish was still very good. Kelly had the red wine reduction on the side for her chicken, and it was a veritable bowl of soup! The mushrooms are actually in the sauce, and it has a strong bitter flavor - I liked it but it was not Kelly's favorite. Still, a very good dish. We went light for dessert and had a scoop of gelato and a scoop of sorbet. They were both excellent. Service is friendly, the tables have plenty of space between them and the restrooms are accessible. No valet, but a free city lot is a short block away and street parking is available. Definitely worth a trip from the city.

I am not sure if it takes place here or the building right next-door, but they are part of the same venue. Maybe just sniffer names? But the venue is nice, it's dark, which I do like because when you're on stage, the audience isn't something that you can really see so it makes you feel a little more comfortable. The DJs are super nice and friendly and very supportive. There's great singers, mediocre singers, first timers that are really nervous and you can tell but everybody cheers them on! Karaoke is not about being the best singer in the house. No one's gonna get discovered by a record label here. We are all just here to have fun and sing songs we like. The bartender that usually works is super awesome and really nice. The drinks are really good and decently priced and they have a bunch of different snack foods that you can get. In the rockstar karaoke room you can always go next-door and order food and have it brought over . While the rockstar karaoke area just has appetizers. That's been my main experience. I haven't gone there on other nights, but they have a nice stage and sound system with cool lighting and bands. Come and play there. I haven't seen any bands there yet, but I'm definitely interested.

For starters, we ordered the kimchi pork dumplings and grilled octopus, which both tasted great, but the kimchi flavoring did overpower everything. Our main course included the marinated short rib, wag rib eye, and a5 5 brisket which were all cooked to perfection by our server. However, my experience at Perilla Steakhouse was hands down frustrating. Upon arrival, things were off to a rough start when I could barely hear the server over the music. At times, I felt like our server was rushing us through our meal based on how much less attention he gave us versus the other tables. I'm not someone who needs my glass refilled every minute either to be clear, but things did feel off with how slow our meal was paced out and the general disinterest the server had in us. For reference, we arrived early to a nearly empty restaurant that hadn't started peak dining time yet. I recognize the steakhouse is an upscale, chic take on traditional Korean dishes and I admire the chef for sharing his culture with the city. I also understand restaurants are going to be more expensive, the closer you are located in relation to downtown. Even so, in comparison to other nearby high-end restaurants, the price to portion ratio for our meal felt off. For example, our $16 dumplings included 3 dumplings on a plate. Yes, there's an argument for inflation and the cost of quality ingredients, but I argue that at this price point we shouldn't have left hungry either.

As for the food, the ramen was just okay. The broth could have used more flavor, and the dipping ramen in particular would have been much better if the broth was hotter. It came out lukewarm, which really took away from the experience. One highlight was the chicken karaage, which was nice and crispy. Since the mochi was not available, we ordered the matcha panna cotta instead, but that was also disappointing. There was barely any matcha flavor, and even the color seemed off. It was more of a mint green than an actual matcha green. Overall, the space is great, but the food did not quite live up to expectations.

We had not counted on finding such a wonderful restaurant as part of the experience. To begin with the restaurant space is gorgeous. We arrived to find beautiful lighting, and various rooms dressed up with Christmas trees. This space was clearly something else in its former life, perhaps a home? Our waitress Melissa was an absolute sweetheart. She made a point of checking with us several times throughout the meal, and was Delightful to talk to. Our meal was magnificent. I went with their signature Bolognese, and it was absolutely perfect. Heaping amounts of sauce with generous amounts of meat, and perfectly cooked pasta. I was so pleased I almost licked the bowl. Dessert was a must and I went with their sticky toffee pudding. This was another triumph, wonderful toffee bits and soft finish. Frankly I'm a little sad that this place is so far away from where I live, or I would be inclined to come back just to have dinner.
