Normally, I like to be present for inspections, but because it didn't work out this time, my wife was there. After several estimates, she settled on Bug Baron for their clear explanation of the treatment, professionalism, and willingness to get their hands dirty and be thorough in locating termite activity. I had The Termite Guy come out since they did the last service over 5 years ago, and they were not as thorough. Not to mention, they focused more on selling me on the company, yet were not willing to do anything that would give me the impression they had identified the issue, so I went with Bug Baron. Simon, my point of contact, is a pro. He was always responsive, willing to answer my questions, and patient in dealing with my schedule. Given that I had received so many estimates, he price matched what i had been quoted. Further adding to the value of them vs the other guys, his warranty was for 5 years, while the others were either 1 or 3 years, and if you wanted a 3-year, you had to pay a pretty penny. Overall, great company, great communication with Simon, great value for the scope of work, and very interested in addressing my issues without pushing to sell me on something I may not need. He heard our concerns, and voiced his own opinion of what was going on. The service (treatment) was only outdoor, but next time it will be indoor as well. The value is unmatched as many other exterminators charge an arm and a leg each month for minimal service and everything above minimum, is an up charge! We recently had a sudden ant infestation in both the kitchen and the bathroom prolly due to the recent heat. (Re: the bathroom, they were apparently attracted to the scent of body wash.) James was available within just 24 hrs and came within the stated time window and discovered three trails and colonies in our backyard. He used a special treatment that the ants take back to their nest to kill the whole colony. Within 48 hrs they were completely gone. Victory! He also followed up the next day to check up on us. That's service we NEVER received from Corky's. We then had them replace all the fascia and corbels on our 2 story home which was extensive. Justin and his crew were absolutely awesome!! Gary and Jason arrived on time every morning and did such a fantastic job. The painter Mike was also excellent. Everything was replaced, painted on all sides and sprayed with a treatment to prevent termites. While waiting for the corbels to come in, they even put mesh over the openings to prevent any rodents from getting in. As Gary did our final walk around, I found out he had also fixed so many different areas with rodent protection that I didn't even know about, which made me so happy. They truly treated my home like it was their own. They also treated for subterranean termites and did ant and spider treatments. We were previously with Corky's for well over 10 years and the level of service we have received from Grand Oak Termite is a MILLION times better. During the process, I came in contact with about a half dozen team members, all of whom were friendly, professional, and personally concerned with our wellbeing. That was important because I found that ridding a home of rodents is not easily achieved. The initial step was to survey the house, seal potential entry sites, then set the traps. The HS team completed the process and set up an appointment to check the traps. after a couple visits, we still heard the vermin scratching around. So, HS brought in a senior inspector who found a few open areas I never would have thought to identify (openings between the outside wall and the foundation that were tucked up underneath the visible area). Those areas were sealed and within ten days, we no longer heard anything. I check of the traps today revealed a large intruder had been eliminated. Home shield performed like partners in our quest to eliminated rodents from our home. They came back as often as needed without complaint and escalated appropriately to assure our problem was solved. And importantly, they never once questioned our reports of hearing critters.
