I'm not sure why this place has a low reviews. It's a dive bar, it has skeeball, darts, pool, decent food and a fun environment for dancing on the weekends. Atmosphere: It seemed off and doesn't seem like there was much planning in the layout. Service: Substandard at best. The waiting staff uses these tablets that take forever and cause them to always be looking down at them and not the customers. Multiple times the staff were standing around looking at their tablets. We had about a 35-40min wait for 4 burgers and they forgot our single appetizer. Once our food came out one of our burgers was severely undercooked which had to be returned and our friend lost her appetite. Their portions are small and not consistent (the four of us ordered the same thing) and very overpriced. After receiving our food and finishing it we got out appetizer 10 minutes later. By then we were over being there and wanted to leave. It took 30 minutes for the waitress to look up from her tablet and start to work our tabs. 15 minutes after that we finally got to sign for them and left immediately. I will not be coming back here or recommending it to anyone unless things change. read more

I hate to start my first ever Yelp review so negatively, but my experience warranted at least a little bit of a response, and I didn't want to cause a scene in front of the group I came in with. Everone seemed to order without an issue, but for whatever reason, I was met with rudeness and disdain. When pulling out my ID, the bartender walked over and snatched it right out of my hand without a word. Okay, maybe I look a little younger, no big deal. I brushed that off and ordered my beer. The pour was half foam, filled to barely more than halfway up the glass. She shoved it in my hands and said "I blew my keg, that's all I've got" and walked off. I was charged full price, never got an apology or even offered a taste of something else. After seriously considering stiffing her, I walked out and left 20% hoping maybe she was having a bad day and that's why I was treated like crap. Granted, we did come in on a quiet early afternoon with a large group of people. As someone who has worked in the food service industry for several years, I know how that can be a nightmare. However, given the open spaces and scarcely populated seating, it shouldn't have been a problem. Also, we each ordered a single beer, if anything at all. read more

The only thing I like about this place is the fact that's it's close to my house and has a pool table, dart board and skee ball. Other than that the service is absolutely trash. I've waited up to an hour for just a beer more times than not, even when it's not that busy. It's a fun environment and all but almost impossible to get a drink. read more

Used to enjoy going here on Saturdays during mid-afternoon. They had a great bartender. She was probably 50 ish and very attentive and on top of things. Then the pandemic happened, hadn't went there for months and then when it opened we did. Some male bartender who was awful and looked/seemed like he was on something (on a Sat. afternoon). We waited for a while for a beer and finally walked out. I think there were 6 other people in the bar at the time. One group he was talking to for a long time. Then we tried again this weekend. Different bartender, so I was hopeful. Nope. Took a half hour or more to get two appetizers. She also went and hung out at a table with customers, I am sure friends, while our food was probably up. Very unprofessional. She was nice when she waited on us, but still, the place has gone down hill big time. I stopped in on a Friday afternoon....there were SIX other patrons at the bar (in other words, pretty empty). Two bartenders "working". I sat right in front of the cash register. Sat there for TEN full minutes and didn't even get a glance from either of the "working" girls. One gal rang up two sales at the register in front of me and still couldn't be bothered to acknowledge my presence. Oh, Lost Dutchman. Like other "Yelpers", I, too, think you have a lot of potential. We visited during your opening week, and was disappointed with the calamari (rubbery) and the cobb salad (sad lettuce and pretty sure no one in the kitchen knew how a cobb salad is made). We gave you another chance tonight around 5pm. Sigh. We asked the bartender if there were any happy hour specials, and he pretty much mocked us, saying, "Yeah, Happy Hour is from 1-3. And Happy Hours are overrated anyway." (Really? tell that to Hopjacks down the road where they seem to be rather busy during that typical 3pm -6pm timeframe. It's called volume.) Despite that, we stayed, and tried the nachos which were weirdly chewy, and for $10 (allright, $9.99), kind of skimpy. The "triple x" wings had the texture of (longtime) frozen wings, dumped into a fryer and tossed with a dash of chile powder and Franks Hot Sauce. There was really nothing "daring" about them, although that's what the menu led us to believe. You get a star for plating & presentation, though. After letting the bartender know we thought the nachos were stale, he brought out the cook, who graciously replaced the nachos with a quesadilla, which was just okay. Seriously, Bartender Dude, you couldn't simply apologize, and take them? You had to pull the cook from the kitchen? Okay, to be fair, she couldn't have been very busy anyway. The Lost Dutchman, let's talk. Decide what you want to be. Are you really a sports bar? Offer something more enticing than overpriced beer ($6.50 for a pint? Really?) and a few banners from local sports teams hanging from the ceiling. How about a fun special football themed drink? Or a food special for your menu? Do you want to entice people to come in and have a good time? Then why do you have half of your space as an empty dance floor that passersby see as they walk to the Starbucks, or to your competition, the TapHouse? On that side of your floor space, flip it. Move the dance floor to the space next to kitchen. Speaking of the kitchen, no one wants to see the entrance to it, where you keep the extra napkins and stuff. Could you at least hang a curtain, put some swinging doors in place? And your menu: Irish Nachos, The Lost Nachos, Asian BBQ Pork, Calamari, Linguica sausage, Italian Pasta, Steak,--Pick a theme for your menu instead of playing United Nations Menu. Basic economics says that simplifying your menu will simplify/lower your costs. I'm guessing that your new owners put a LOT of money into transforming the Blockbuster video store of yesterday into the Lost Dutchman of today, and I say kudos to them. It takes a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, I'm sure, to put it all together. And frankly, most restaurants fail. It would be a real shame if you, Lost Dutchman, failed, especially in our neighborhood where we need another fun place to hang out, have some good beer, and good food. read more

By far the worst bar around. Terrible wait staff and dirty beer. I found stuff in my glass while drinking and could finish. To top it all off my tab for a single $4 beer turned into $104 on my bank statement. I have left 7 messages over 2 weeks and have gotten no help on fixing this situation even after they said it was compelling their fault. I can't speak to the weekend night life but a few friends and I went here on a weekday to get a few drinks while on vacation. This place was really friendly, you have to pay for pool which is a bummer and they only have two tables so a packed weekend night might be hard. Like many I was excited to have yet another watering hole in MV but once there I felt like I was in a Community Center waiting for a reception to start.. the lighting is horrible and there is nothing warm and inviting about the place.. sorry. Stopped in to have a couple drinks and kill some time. First impression: meh- whatever... Just another bar. Plenty of TV's, appeared clean. Ordered a whiskey and diet. It was fine. Very weak, but to be expected (since I'm not a regular). The bartender seemed put out when I asked for a MENU. He handed me a leaflet card with drink specials and finger foods. I figured that's all they had. Later, as he walked by, he slapped a full menu down "in case I wanted to see it." Anyway, the menu was appealing. Figured I'd find myself in here again for lunch or take out. Then my next drink arrived. One sip and I was grossed out. It looked different so I asked if it was Diet Coke. He said it was and debunked my theory it was ginger ale by stating they don't have ginger ale on tap. OK. "It's awful", I said. He poured a slight amount of diet into a glass and had me taste that. It tasted a little flat and I let him know that. He then walked off. Look, I am not a snob but I also do not drink crappy drinks. They didn't offer to remake it. So, I (stupidly) left the guy a tip and a full drink and walked out never to return. I feel like going back in and getting my $2 tip back because as I walked out I told the bartender he should check his ingredients out. He seemed to not give a rip. So..... The Lost Dutchman is a total dive bar in Maple Valley. It's located in the same shopping center as QFC. The space is large, with a small stage, and plenty to do. A large bar sits in the center with the regulars on tap and plenty of hard alcohol choices. After a long day I was looking for some comfort food. Dark, dank, with that old bar stink. Although a dive bar is not my usual hang out, (but I have a few favorites) I noticed on their menu here on Yelp, a Monte Cristo sammich! Definitely a favorite... If it's made right! I sat down at the bar but was never greeted or even approached with a menu for another 10 minutes. Once I finally did get the bartenders attention, I ordered a Bloody Mary, the Monte Cristo with tater tot's. Apparently, they ran out of Bloody Mary mix. I was offered spiced up V-8 instead. Needless to say, the drink was definitely not the same and tasted like crap! The sandwich was dry, lacking in flavor, and the jam/jelly was missing. Plus, the tater tot's tasted like old oil and the ranch was extremely watery! Bad service, bad food... I don't know, I guess that's what you should expect out of a Maple Valley dive bar? Most likely will not be heading back! Definitely room for improvement. read more

First time here, and I would give zero stars if I could! I love divey bars, and was hoping this one would be our new haunt. The service was terrible. We were ignored, after about 20 minutes a waitress came by asked for a beer and pizza. Beer took another 20 minutes, pizza 1.5 hours! Hubby asked for water she said sure didn't come back....went up to the bar to get him some water since he was done with his beer. Two bartenders were busy chatting with their friends and ignoring me. She saw me and finally got a water for him. She disappeared again...at this point we just wanted to pay and leave. My husband had to chase her down to pay the bill. She admitted we were treated poorly and apologized to him for the "shitty service"--her words. The pizza was terrible hard over cooked and tasted nasty frozen pizza crust! We WILL NOT be returning ever! Sad that a local business wants to run off potential new customers and revenue --owner really needs to get his shit together and do an overhaul of his staffing and menu if he wants to stay in business. I have tried this place twice and both times were bad. Walking in, it looks like blockbuster moved out and they came into this empty space and put in a bar, tables and games. Maybe they ran out of money? The first time I went there the service was bad and the food was awful! I ordered wings because I love wings at a bar! These looked like they took frozen wings, put them in the microwave and poured some hot sauce on them, they were still bloody, they were awful! They knew I was not satisfied because I spit it out and didn't touch it again and they didn't offer anything or ask why I didn't eat it. I went with some friends and it was pretty dead, because the music wasn't what the crowd wanted (however no one bothered to request something new to the dj). We have been thinking of trying this place for months since you opened. EVERY SINGLE time we go by there are hardly any customers and now we know why. We decided due to a babysitter cancel to get philly cheese steak sandwiches to go. BAD BAD choice The bun was fresh and the fries were decent fries for take out. The sandwich wasn't at all what was described on the menu. Hardly any meat and 2 count them 2 slices of onions 1 slice of cheese and 4 slivers of green pepper. WOW!! Onions and peppers are pretty inexpensive and really for 12.99 you should provide what you market on your menu. Smothered in cheese NOPE This place will be another small business gone sooner rather than later, and honestly no loss. Don't even try to talk yourself into it, not good. read more

Came here for Super Bowl this year, wasn't too busy and I was super stoked about that. Angel the bartender, all in all she's great and has good humor. I won a raffle here so it was awesome to win a gift card. Can't wait to come back hopes it's just as good as the second time. Also the wings are great!
