We walked around the property beforehand it was quiet, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. The landscaping is lovely, and there weren't many people around, which added to the relaxing atmosphere. At the spa, we received bracelets for locker access. I had forgotten my sandals, and when we asked about slippers, the staff was very courteous and provided them. We later learned slippers are included with overnight stays, which was appreciated. We did run into a small issue with the bracelets not consistently opening doors first mine didn't work, then later my husband's didn't so we had to return a couple of times to have them reactivated. It wasn't a major issue, but it did interrupt the flow of the experience slightly. The food was delicious. We had lunch in a charming area with a window view, and the staff thoughtfully seated us so we could enjoy it. That detail didn't go unnoticed. One small observation: when we asked to take leftovers, I noticed our server packed other guests' food & placed them into bags but handed ours to us unpacked. It wasn't a big issue, but consistency in service matters, and it stood out. Another observation was that they had a toucheorming note for my husband which was his birthday along with wine and desserts. Overall, the resort is beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing. With a few small improvements, the experience could be even better.

Cons: Expensive and felt "nickled and dimed". $65 for group soaks. Spent $50 on lunch, and they require people to rent the robes for an additional $20. They also run out of lockers sometimes, so in that case, you've got to put your valuables in your car (parking is also not great/limited). I asked that my robe rental be comped because we had to store our stuff in our hot cars, and the assistant manager wouldn't budge. We also waited quite a while to be seated in the restaurant and a number of other groups were waiting as well -- even one that had reservations. Advice to management: If you run out of lockers, reduce the price of something or give a customer more. As an example, forsake the $20 robe rental fee if you are not delivering the full experience and are putting the customer out (this is not Motel 6). Make sure the restaurant is properly staffed - even in between lunch and dinner rushes. Advice to customers: Bring your own robe! Expect to drop at least $150 there, if you eat anything. Call ahead to see how busy they are -- probably best to go in the middle of the week (not Friday or the weekend). I was there on Friday at 12:15P and it was packed. No chairs were available by the pools.

It was more than we could imagine, we stayed in a lovely room, with comfortable beds, a fire place and a cute bathroom. There was even an enclosed patio with a gate off of the room (made it easier to let the dog out in the morning). The space was very open and we felt like we were at home. There was wireless internet, satellite TV and plenty of space for my friend, my dog and I to roam around. We were the only ones there during our stay and my dog LOVED it! Plenty to sniff and explore. Anne, the owner is wonderful and sweet. She recommended great places for us to eat and helped us find our way around. They offer great pet services and we were allowed to leave our well-behaved dog in the room. The breakfasts were delicious, every morning there was coffee, tea, juice, granola with fresh fruit and yogurt. And if you wanted eggs and bacon made to order with scones! This is a little ways outside of Santa Fe but so worth the stay, much better than being in a city. The views from the Hacienda were gorgeous and we saw snow, clear skies, cloudy days, and starry nights (in the two days we were there in late March). It was gorgeous! Can't wait to go back!

Each room and main room had a fireplace which was a nice touch to add to the ambiance with the fall weather. The place decorates itself- the architecture is southwestern and unique. The views are gorgeous and the place is perfectly secluded, yet there is still access to the funky little town of Madrid close by. We couldn't have picked a better spot for our intimate family wedding. The team at the Hacienda made planning from a distance very easy for us and we were well taken care of. We are truly so happy with our choice to get married at Hacienda Dona Andrea :)

It was very hot, so we drove up to near the ski area and the temps went from 93 to 66, very close. Lots of restaurants snd shopping around, so close to everything. Park is gravel on concrete. We had shade trees and some parts are really shady. Hosts are very nice and great tour guides. We didn't use the baths but laundry good, $2 load. They have a dog walk up front and a giant dog park about .3 mile from front. It's a walk, but nice. Wifi is pretty much non-existent. Tried to pick up local channels thru air since no cable, but couldn't get any locals. Had to stream Cowboys/Buccs game via ATT but still blurry. Probably a good thing. If you are in Santa Fe to sightsee, this is a great place. Go to MeowWolf. Eat at La Choza. Get Bryan's Auto Detail to come clean your RV.

All that said is this place perfect?, No. - but is there truly a perfect in-city RV campground? No there is not. The main problem for me is the noise from Cerritos Blvd. Nothing can stop this as young New Mexico drivers seem to be "praised" and "adored" for removing their mufflers from their cars and racing away from every stop light. All this leads to my initial point. This campground was likely plotted in the 1950's when this part of Sante Fe was ranches way outside of the metro and road noise was never an issue... The vintage-ness exudes from this place and provides it with its charm - It brings back memories of road trips in the backwards facing seat way in the back of the Country Squire Station Wagon and Olds Vista cruiser wagon - Even visits to summer camp in the 1960/70's. This campground is actually a tiny piece of Americana that will be lost in a few months, never to be again. Beautiful tress to be eliminated and vintage adobe buildings to be razed. If my information is correct, this is the last summer, and this site will fall to the hands of developers to build another ugly mini mall or faceless and devoid of personality condo buildings. A sad farewell to the place and to all the people who have kept this place all these years - PLEASE DO STAY HERE until it all ends. I am unsure of the dates.

Perched between Santa Fe and Madrid, Crystal Mesa Farm allows me to spend time in both places with ease. The owner Marie is a delight, knowledgeable about the area she told me of a "secret" place I didn't even know about in Madrid which I can't wait to visit again (it's a cemetery so "can't wait" might be the wrong term). I've stayed here a couple of times before and each time I've been in a different room, but the San Marcos room is one of my favorites. Looking up from the bed to the night sky with the stars so close you can touch them is what dreams are made of.

The unit was very nice but, to our surprise, it was in a commercial center with businesses on the bottom. The business were quiet but it was unexpected. We thought we were in a sweet residential area and we know Santa Fe fairly well. More surprising were the industrial buildings surrounding it. We pulled in with a Party Place warehouse on the left, and various other industrial warehouses lining the street. While most of the place has beautiful views, the front faces the warehouses. All a big surprise to us and we felt the advertising was not forthcoming. While they do indeed share the address after booking, we did not notice the neighborhood. We were more focused on "location", not neighborhood. We were there for a month and had friends in Santa Fe who also looked at location and did not realize or notice the "neighborhood". For us, that was important. Nonetheless, I assumed after staying with them they would have given me a chance to review the place. As you can see there are 5 star reviews but when I asked how come they haven't sent me a form to review I was met with no answer. The company does a good job managing the properties. They felt they had properly shared portrayed the property but we did not. The lesson, check out the surrounding area where you are staying. After many many many stays in Santa Fe and around the world, this was the first time we had such a surprise. But now we know to get a good google map of the area!

I love that we can pick exactly what we want to eat, as well as accommodating to any dietary restrictions. The portion size was super generous as well! During our stay, we highly enjoyed our interactions with Raymond, he is super polite and thoughtful! We had plenty of privacy during our stay, and highly enjoyed taking our outdoor showers! In our 5 day stay, we did not get bored of things to do, never did we leave the property once to explore ABQ or Santa Fe. This place is truly a restful, rejuvenating retreat! The wood burning hot tub was probably one of the most special moments for us there as we got to be outside in the dark watching the stars. Madrid Casita is a private lodging for daily/weekly rental in the historic mining town of Madrid,…read moreNew Mexico--just 20 minutes from Santa Fe on the historic Turquoise Trail. The casita is located behind the owner's artist studio and home. It is a very small home equipped with a queen-size bed, a full-sized futon, roomy closet, full kitchenette including: coffeemaker, toaster oven, stove, utensils, refrigerator/freezer, blender, complementary coffee and tea, air conditioning, a space heater, a private outdoor deck with an amazing mountain view, and private parking. The fridge is stocked with bottles of water, a couple of sodas and two beers and if consumed you pay a reasonable price unlike what hotels try to charge you for that stuff. A bottle of water was a dollar and it was $3 for a beer. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Casita for 2 nights. It was super romantic and peaceful. We spent the evenings stargazing on a little deck next to the roof and one night we heard the coyotes singing. The bed was comfortable. The casita was quiet. It is really nice to stay somewhere that you don't have the housekeeper knocking at your door at 8 in the morning and you don't have to listen to the people in the next room doing who knows what. It was also very affordable, $95.00 a night including tax. Now for what I would call the weak points. 1. The water pressure isn't so great but you are out in the desert so what do you expect. 2. The driveway is unpaved and a bit sketchy unless navigated with care, mostly while exiting the casita. 3. This is my least favorite thing about the casita. You can't flush your toilet paper and have to put it in a trashcan next to the toilet. I kept forgetting and having to fish it out and the sink was not in the bathroom so that part was a bit gross and kind of a pain. Despite the three weak points mentioned above. The casita was way better than staying at any lame motel in Santa Fe or Albuquerque. The town of Madrid is amazing and a walk to town is only 1/2 mile. You are also close to hiking, horseback riding, and/or a massage.You can also visit owner Mike Wright's artist studio and sculpture garden. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family.
