I've been here a few times and agree with how it brings a different vibe to riverside. I appreciate the diverse menu and think am glad it is in the area. In generaI I would give this place 3-4 stars based on concept. However I write a 2 star review based on my experience tonight. My friend and I came in *before* 930pm, of course feeling bad for coming towards a little before closing, but still reasonable enough to be served. We were greeted with disinterested faces that already made us feel like we were imposing. While we were acknowledged in passing upon entry, it took almost 15 minutes for someone to finally say "have you been helped?" Also must add that there was only one person in front of us the entire time, granted they had multiple orders. A female worker finally started to help us. Now I have worked food and I know what's it like to be so close to closing and still having customers, but already our greeting put a bad vibe to our experience. She was making our bowls at the same time and had to ask what kind of base we wanted a few times. The way she asked felt a little too nonchalant and added to the less-than vibe. Throughout the process, we felt rushed. I was sad they ran out of spring mix, but that was just a minor disappointment. When she asked for here or to go, we said here. She paused and gave us a seemingly dirty look and stated that they would be closing at 10pm. Again we understand but we were already unhappy with waiting that long to be helped and acknowledged. So to hear that made us even more unhappy with the experience. She finished our order and said that the cashier would be right with us. Then she left to clean up tables and start closing. Maybe the guy who was helping a customer after us only had access, but at this point we waited about 5 minutes to be acknowledged again. Two of the same workers kept passing us and could tell we were waiting and looking unhappy. I'm always a sucker for the seaweed salad add-on, but the food tonight was just all right. Long story short, even toward closing, acknowledging your customers with a great attitude goes a long way. While the waits/ out of stock items may not have been a big deal, the way we were treated - or lack of - made this particular night not fully enjoyable experience. We quickly ate most of our food and had to save the catching up for outside, in the cold. read more

The hot cheeto gave the pokeburrito an extra texture w/ a little spice and a trip down memory lane to when I was in middle school and had hot cheetos and Gatorade for breakfast! You get to pick 3 proteins so we chose spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and tuna. The protein was flavorful and it doesn't stop there, you to choose sauces, sides, and top offs?!? Idk how the girl managed to roll the damn thing but she made it happen! The cilantro lime corn was delicious and would pop in every bite, the crab meat turned the burrito into a huge sushi roll, seaweed salad had the perfect amount of sesame oil for flavor. The burrito was so big and filling! The poke bowl was another story, the spring mix was good but I think next time I will get all rice. We had a similar combination to the burrito and all the flavors blended beautifully. Get their jalapeño bizness sauce & their sirachacha! I promise you will not regret it. I happened to come across this restaurant when I was nearby at a hair salon appointment. What intrigued me was that, one it was in Riverside, close to home and two, they have poke burritos covered in hot cheetohs crumbs! When I arrived it was busy, but plenty of seating was available. The first thing I saw when I entered the restaurant on the menu were the sauces. Which threw me off and made me really confused as to how to order. When it was finally my turn to order, they kinda walked me through the ordering process but it would have been better if the menu was better organized so that customers could begin to think about how/what they want to order. For example, size of the bowl, or do you want a wrap/burrito, then the type of rice, then fish, etc etc. The girl that took our order was not at all welcoming and was just impatient. The atmosphere of the restaurant was just a bit unwelcoming. Maybe they were having a rough day, I dont know! I just hope my next visit is different. Back to the food: I really like the green tea rice. I cant describe the taste but its good. It's a must try. I ended up ordering a wrap/burrito with the hot cheetohs crumbs. I enjoyed it a lot as it did not fall apart on me like I had expected to and I think its because they have this special machine that flattens the rice for wraps. The fish was fresh; they do charge $1/extra scoop and they provides the sauces on the side which i liked so my wrap/burrito wouldn't fall apart or soggy. We did try the bowl but it was average, nothing too crazy about it. I highly recommend trying the wrap though. Ive had a sushi wrap/burritos before and nothing compares to what Low Key Poke has to offer. ----- They do have a bar with a happy hour, however I didnt see any times for their happy hour when I went so I didnt get to try anything. This place has a really cool hipster vibe going for it and the special 'boo-tea' rice is delicious and unique.
