I used The Lube center in Gambrills for years for all 4 of my vehicles. I used them since they opened their doors. They were always great until the last year. . Over the last year I noticed that all the old managers and service techs were gone and replaced with inexperienced and rude workers. The customer service aspect had shown a steady decline over the last year. The noticeable decline in customer service, and technical experience the last few years was a lot - however they are still close and my primary goal is for a quick oil change and fluids checks for my vehicles when needed. I took two of our vehicles this past weekend on the Thursday before the Memorial Day holiday, as the family and I were headed to ocean City maryland for a long weekend. Upon waiting to get service - me on one vehicle and my spouse in the other - I specifically ask them to look over the older suv as we don't drive it much and the miles are no where close to needing a full change since the last pick change they did. They confirmed that but said the plug was leaking and they would need to do a full change. No problem. I asked repeatedly - is it safe to drive and will it be ok to drive now with the new plug. Should our trip be ok with no leaks. The full report was that the new plug and filter were great and no more leaks anywhere . Again I mentioned the road trip and told them based on the age of the 2001 suv - if it's not road worthy let me know now so we don't try to make the trip and have any issues. They assured us - several times and said there were no leaks. Based on this information. We left straight from the Lube Center to hit the road. Both vehicle It's a 2.5 hour drive but being rush hour and a holiday weekend the drive took about 3 hrs. As we pulled into OC - the low oil light started flashing. We thought there was no way. We just had it changed. Literally 3 hours prior and they assured us it was good. With the truck running we look under the vehicle - on flat ground - the oil was pouring out. I have video but can't upload it. We called AAA and found a place to have it serviced and looked at. Upon thier inspection the plug was never leaking. The leak was from the oil line and had they done the pressure test correctly at the Lube Center it would have been identified fully. They never checked the lights or tires either. They should have never allowed us to take the vehicle on a known road trip without telling us the line was leaking. It was gushing oil. It would have been ok to say they don't fix oil lines but to let older people with two dogs risk being on the side of the road with a blown motor was negligent on their part. I called Corp who has yet to return my call directly. The service manager called and wanted to blame everything but his piss pour services. When I to the manager who said the problem "must have happened after we left". However the repair shop and my trusted mechanics at home all agree that the oil line corrosion is not a thing that just magically appears and there was clear signs on the line that it was rusted and leaking before the trip and before the timing of the oil change at the line center. Their manager refused to refund the 137.00 for that vehicle's oil change at the lube center. I have since put in a complaint withy credit card to reverse payment. The sad part is - I had full services on my other vehicle that same day - totaling 360 dollars all in. And that I am ok with. We have two other vehicles we have always taken there as well and they know that too. We will take out business elsewhere and recommend others do the same until the corp office and this location better train their managers and employees in both customer service and satisfaction and expertise in the oil changing business- understanding that 1. They in a service industry 2. Their techs are not experienced and don't hold the basis knowledge to report problems on a vehicle that their customers rely on. I rarely return or complain to a company but in this case I think it was just and the refund requested was reasonable. They left us stranded in OC without our normal mechanics amd having to pay tourist pricing to get the vehicle fully repaired. While it would have still cost something to repair those repairs could have waited and we could have taken a different vehicle. This discussion was up front and well discussed with the manager on duty and the service tech. We would have been the full oil change price in addition to the 2000 dollars we had to spend to get the vehicle back home. it all could have been avoided had the business done the minimum required in their line of business. Please use another facility so you aren't stranded. In addition, the lack of any customer service and refusing to honor their warranties - my request to refund 137 and their refusal to make things right - lost them life long business for all of vehicles and all of extended family business. read more

So far, so good. I had to wait an hour to be seen, and my service took a little over an hour, but that is the only negative thing I have to say. Yes, they could move faster, but their service was top-notch. I'm soo mad at myself for deleting the note I made with my tech's name and the manager on duty. I took my daughter's car for an oil change before she went back to school. The drive in oil change was not something I had done before, but Taylor made it really easy. They checked all lights (including tag lights), tire pressure, informed me my daughter's car needed synthetic oil and would be more expensive (I knew that but she wouldnt have). I bought a battery at this place and was unable to use it in my car. I had it for maybe 30 minutes, before I called them back to ask if I could return it. The cashier said it would be fine only for me to try and return it the next day and be told by the manager that they won't take it back even though I have a receipt. Don't use this place. read more

I took my car to this place years ago and I had a horrible experience, but today I went back and I decided to stay because I saw new staff and supervisor. Let me tell you that they did a great job. I was only getting an oil change but I was told that I would need to get an engine flush and power steering flush. I looked at my notes, I write everything down my car gets done, and I saw that it was time for both of them. Took my daughters car here for an oil change since the little window sticker said it was due about 5000 miles prior. The staff was friendly informative and patient. I nearly wet myself driving over the open workspace yes you drive up and wait inside your car. All I could think about is veering off the track. Very thorough inspection and great recommendations please listen if they tell you your battery is low and or need replacing. The service used to be great but the last two visits have been sloppy and lazy. They didn't check lights or tire air pressure. Not a big deal but they indicated on the check list that they did and two of my tires clearly needed air. They also left a rag and a tool under my hood. I never imagined myself writing a glowing review for a car care place, but here I am! ;) From the time I drove in to the time I drove out, I was totally impressed by everything. The staff members were exceptionally polite and also very efficient. I've never seen the underside of a car while someone was working under it, but there it was on a monitor just outside the driver's window. I like that they provide the service while you sit in your car - this will be a life-saver for anyone with kids! I plan to take my grandkids with me next time, just so they can enjoy the experience. The price is reasonable, especially considering that they don't make you sit in a dingy, hot or cold waiting room. They even brought me some fresh, hot coffee with flavored creamer in it. One tip: I went on a weekday morning around 9 a.m. and I was the only customer. The supervisor told me that I definitely chose a good time, because on some days - weekends especially - there can be a line of cars snaking out through the parking lot. read more

For those who may not know, Lube Center checks the air in your tires and tops it off for free. Goodbye to the days of me putting coins into a jenky metal machine that may or may not work depending on the day. Since I've been visiting TLC for my tires, they've helped me discover nails and small punctures that were resulting in the loss of air pressure. I got an oil change a couple weeks ago, and I was really impressed. Everyone was really nice and the oil change was extremely fast. It may have been more than your average oil change, but I didn't mind. The best part was not having to get out of my car! You get a free car wash with your oil change which is nice. The automatic car wash is quite outdated, though. I didn't care for the track that moves your car through the car wash, though. I'd recommend their Odenton location for the car wash since it's newer and more modern. I thought my car was going to get damaged in the one in Gambrills. read more

The Lube center was working ok for me for what I needed but I recently had multiple negative experiences so I felt the need to leave a review. I typically get my oil changed here and keep records of service recommendations made (for consistency before I decide to act). The recommendations are typically inconsistent which already brings their reliability into question. Last time, I paid $200 for transmission fluid exchange based on recommendations. I go back 2 months later and they recommended it again. I was quite irritated. They apologized and provided some BS explanation for the error... Basically they are making recommendations without really making sure that you need them, and not checking their records to avoid offering duplicate unnecessary services and cheating customers. I can no longer trust their recommendations and will not be going back. Hopefully this is helpful to someone. read more

I've gotten at least half a dozen oil changes here and only have good things to say about that part of the business. On Monday my wife dropped off her Honda Civic to get the front brakes done (rotors and pads). When she drove the car later, she noticed a terrible vibration and noise coming from the front end so she returned it to the shop. They didn't tighten the lug nuts properly to the wheel studs. I find this an inexcusable mistake for a shop. Somebody could have been hurt or killed if the wheels came off while driving. Their idea of remediation was to offer an extra free car wash. I admire the professionalism they show on the oil lube side of the business, but the auto repair side needs to get their act together. read more

Came here on 4/18/2023 for an oil change. I had previously taken my car to a shop to get new tires and a wheel alignment, and when I left that shop there was a sensor hanging off my car. I didn't notice it until I was home and I was going to get an oil changed anyway. Went to Auto Spa, and my technician Curtis was so friendly and was able to tell me what exactly the sensor was for, was able to plug it up and assure me it was now good to go, and also offered that if it kept giving me issues I could come back and they would take care of it when they topped off my fluids, etc. Overall great, trustworthy experience. I always bring my car here for an oil change, as it is convenient, fast and friendly service. Really, it is the excellent customer service that kept me coming back each time. Over the years, they would always recommend certain services for my car, but recently they stopped doing that (I have been getting some of the recommended services done by them, depending on what it was), so now I just see it on the document I receive after checking out. I find that a bit puzzling since nobody has even mentioned them to me. Maybe because my car is older now and has over 100000 miles on it, they think it isn't "worth" putting money in it for flushes or cabin air filter changes etc.? I don't know. Carlos is the go to guy for me! He explained things with my vehicle in a way that I didn't feel intimidated because I am far from a pro at understanding vehicles. The Lube Center is thorough, fast and efficient! I read where they offered you something to drink, I don't see how anyone has time because by the time they ask, you receive- you're literally driving out the exit! I stopped by The Lube Center in Gambrills this evening in a pinch after work. After two failed attempts over the weekend my co-worker recommended I go here. I was stressed and needed the service immediately. I called earlier in the day and asked for an estimate. The manager, Sean, immediately answered any and all questions I had. I felt comfortable right away. I came by around 6pm and was helped quickly. I pulled in and was offered a beverage while I was being serviced. I know little about cars, but they didn't make me feel stupid, which I appreciated. Fast, friendly & professional! I highly recommend getting an oil change package here. I went to Leo's RV Service Center to get the oil changed on my 2019 Airstream Generator. I was told that it would be 3 months before they could get to it. So, down the street was The Lube Center for Trucks and Autos. The Manager Randy could have said they don't do it but instead he said let's see what we can do. He took a look and had experience with small engines and generators. He said we can change it for you and recommended the exact 15-40 Synthetic turbo diesel oil it needed. I am very impressed with their willingness to help me since my wife and I were planning a trip and did not want to wait to get a small oil change done. I highly recommend this business and Randy. My wife and I stopped in for an oil change, which wasn't due for another 3000 miles but for some reason the dashboard was saying low oil (we got it done last at the dealership). David, one of the techs topped off our oil and other fluids with no charge. They could've easily charged us for the oil or even insisted on an oil change. Very honest and extremely great service. I used to love this location of the Lube Center. I really enjoyed being able to relax in my car during oil changes and maintenance services. They would always offer me refreshments and the employees and management were previously very pleasant, polite, informative, and professional. In recent months, this location has been more inconsistent. Sometimes I am offered something to drink and on other occasions I haven't been offered refreshments. I specifically request a standard or basic oil change with no enhancements or extras and noticed I was charged a fee for some sort of fuel additive a few months ago without my consent or request. After that I was charged a higher fee for some sort of high mileage oil change I did not ask for or consent to. Most recently I have been being charged for a synthetic oil blend package I never asked for or consented to AND noticed today that there was a note added to my history and receipts with them that says my check engine light was on prior to service... except ..... there is NO.... check engine light on in my car.... nor was there prior to service!!!! When I asked why that was on my documents, I was advised by someone I believe was named William that it was already in the system so he included it. Having serviced my car today and in early July, William definitely checked my dashboard which had no check engine light displaying so I was confused by his explanation... but also in a hurry to my next destination. I was not in a hurry enough to not notice that my card was charged and my receipt and documents were issued without my tire pressure being checked or adjusted or my fluids being topped off which were items that were already marked as completed on my checkout documents. I don't believe I should have to ask the staff at the Lube Center to actually complete the items they mark completed on my checkout documents after they have already charged me for completing said procedures. I literally had to say "hey...it looks like you guys marked these completed but no one did any of them" and they all looked at each other obliviously. While I appreciate the convenient hours of this location and being able to remain in my car during maintenance and service, I think the training of the staff and general operation with integrity from employees here has gone down quite a bit over the years with this Lube Center team. read more

I really liked that touch. This time, nothing was offered in that department. My first lube center disappointment.
