I honestly think our last experience was just a fluke or off night for the wait staff and kitchen. This time everything we ordered was accurate and well seasoned. Our waitress was super fast and friendly. Our food was delicious in every single way. We loved the shrimp scampi, the salad was crisp, and the loaded jalapeño potato bites with white cheddar and tender juicy pulled pork were absolutely mouth watering. Our in house made desserts were out of this world,especially the addictive coconut cream! The owner came over and served us our desserts, she was such a nice lady. We were in the area for an appointment and decided to look for a different place to get an early dinner. We had been to The Main Landing a few years ago and remembered that we liked it. Today we arrived and we're greeted by Mindy. I was cautiously optimistic, but right off the bat things we're looking promising. She seated us in our favorite area and advised us on the menu and specials. We ordered drinks and Shrimp Cocktail and Lobster Bisque app. The drinks, ambience, appetizers and company were all perfect. Then we ordered the mains. We had the Seafood Medley with asparagus and broiled Cajun haddock with broccoli. Both arrived in good time, cooked perfectly. We were given good portions, not skimpy like some places. We don't often get dessert, but when Mindy told us they were made in-house and the coconut pie was gluten free, we had to. I ordered the peanut butter pie. Both were a perfect ending to a wonderful experience. I don't often review, but I had to this time because it was so good. We stopped for lunch on a road trip. 4-stars on Yelp - on the lake, sounded good. Service: Not very busy. Our waitress was by herself. We asked to sit on the deck - no, because it "might" rain (it didn't). Service was slow - not because it was busy, but the waitress was gossiping with another table. Food: Grace got the fish fry (fish, fries, coleslaw) - very bland flavor, undercooked fries, watery slaw. Me: I was just going to get the mussels but asked if the lobster bisque was good- waitress got a bit offended and said they wouldn't have it on the menu unless it was good. I have to disagree. Bisque was pinkish, salty, not creamy (grainy - like when a béchamel breaks), and no discernible pieces of lobster. Mussels were served in a bowl with a garlic sauce and garlic "toast". Again very salty with not much of a sauce. The toast was a few pieces of what appeared to be the heel of a bread loaf - limp and soggy from touching the broth. I went here with my fiancée intending to have a nice evening out since both of us work so much, we barely have time for ourselves. Instead of warm, even enthusiastic service, we stood at the door waiting to be served only to be passed FOUR times by 3 person employees either so much as a peep. So then I simply sat a table; (I have back problems stemming from my service during Operation Enduring Freedom 2001-2002) and was told we had to wait to be seated, in a very crass way. I had to assume it's because of my brown skin, because my Caucasian fiancé had never experienced such a thing...until I came along. Shame on those employees. I'll never ever go back again, and that's a shame in itself because I was looking forward to good seafood. But I decided I'll only eat where it's served with a side of kindness and love. Came in on a Sunday when they were going to close in about 45 mins. No problem! They seated us and were glad we came in. We orders the Cobb Salad, Sail Burger, and fish sandwich. All 3 were very good and were enjoyed by everyone. Service was attentive, and our server was very helpful and informative. View was great! It was a nice fall 70 degree day. My only complaint and it isn't really too bad was the menus needed to be cleaned off and the table needed to be cleaned a bit better. Stopped in for the first time and even though we had a reservation for a Saturday night, it wasn't needed as most tables were empty. Maybe it's because the summer is winding down and they're on the water? The view from inside the restaurant was peaceful, I bet this place is packed in the summer though! Their menu wasn't huge but it had enough of each category to find something- some apps, some burgers, some sandwiches, seafood, chicken, pasta, and steak. Prices for everything were very reasonable ($12-$16 for most entrees). I ordered the Chicken Veda Marie which came with seasoned mashed potatoes and a side salad, very good. I normally don't focus on the side salads but I liked that their croutons weren't super hard and their house raspberry vinaigrette dressing was really good too. The cream sauce on the chicken was very flavorful as well. Service and food were mostly fine. Everyone in my group loved what they ordered, most got pasta dishes which came out in huge bowls! Most of the time everything came out quick except for our second rounds of drinks which took awhile to get to us even though it was just wine and beer. Restaurant was clean. Our hotel concierge described this place as a "hidden gem" and boy was he correct. We almost passed it by. It is tucked back behind large white buildings and you would miss it if not for the sign on Boulevard Avenue. The food was reasonably priced, delicious and all homemade. I had the salad with homemade raspberry dressing a huge piece of haddock with garlic butter. The home baked carrot cake dessert was the best I ever tasted. Since my first review I have been back four times. This was my fifth time, and it has changed for the worst place. We waited an extra long time for our water and drinks then food no check up to refill drinks. Waitress forgot fries for one order and did not bring back. Also other guest I was with wanted condiments and refills I finally had to go in to restaurant to complain since our waitress stormed off without an apology. Another server came out and claimed she was going to get our drinks instead she came back with one $15.00 dollar gift towards further purchases. When we had three bills. Never got our drink refills basically they wanted us out. On way outa group very sarcastically said have a good night I said I doubt after this service, they then argued with another guest saying we don't care if you give us bad reviews we don't care if you don't come back. Went here on the Fourth of July and lucky us they were open and it wasn't busy! They are right on the lake so rather your inside or out there is a great view of the water. We were sat right away, and our waitress was very friendly. My sister in law and myself both ordered their strawberry basil mojito which was made with cucumber vodka. Sounded delicious and came out looking so pretty! It definitely looked better then it tasted, it was good but a bit too basil heavy tasting. Then the other 3 people I came with all ordered their chicken finger platter and I had ordered their fish fry. The fish fry was absolutely delicious and I substituted their fries for sweet potato fries. Definitely a good choice because it comes with a sweet sauce to dip them in! The others said the chicken fingers were good but nothing amazing, they did not have honey mustard and they were out of franks hot sauce but they did have a wing sauce which they said they absolutely loved! My sister in law had also ordered their side of deep fried cauliflower bites and says she recommends as they were very tasty! The pricing was great, the location is wonderful, and it's nice low key place. I would definitely return as their menu offers a good variety and the manager even came around to make sure everything was good, that the temperature was good and that the music wasn't too loud.
