Went there to take care of a burger craving. When we requested one of the burgers to be rare to medium rare, the waitress stated there was an Arizona ordinance prohibiting anything less than medium. She did not pull out the Arizona codes or reference a chapter and sub-clause but did say it would be impossible. So....we paid for our soda's and left without ordering food. We went somewhere else to break the law!!!! And break the law we did!!! No issues at the other place. Don't go if you want to control the temperature level of your meat. We came for lunch. This place sucks we ordered a mammoth burger and mammoth chicken and some other stuff it came out In about 4 mins no kidding. The buns we're stale the chicken and the burger was cold as if it was just sitting there for an hour or so. The waitress was not friendly when we asked to change our order and she put a 20% gratuity on the bill for her shitty service. I do not recommend eating here at all better off tipping the gun fighters at least they work for there money. read more

This place smells great as you walk around the area and the atmosphere is perfect for an old town saloon. However, the service was terrible and the food was okay for our party of 7. I have to wonder if the waitress focused on other tables since the 20% gratuity was built in for having 6+ people in our party. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was cold and had a lot of fat in it. We paid $54 for 2 sandwiches and two kids meals. Very overpriced for less than average food. Although the service started off slowly, our server came on strong with the best service I've ever had - anywhere!! Kristin was quick to anticipate our order for another beer (and was it ever COLD), talkative and very interesting, and we soon discovered that we had many of the same interests that she had, so there was no shortage of topics to talk about. The atmosphere is amazing. All the staff is very friendly. The food however, was just "alright". It all came out hot but most was pretty bland, like it came from a can or was frozen prepared. It was a little frustrating to use plastic utensils for everything as they were a bit flimsy. This post gets 3 stars because 1) prickly pear cactus margarita and 2) potato skins were the best part of the meal. Definitely recommend to try. Overall it was a positive experience. The good - the view is unbeatable of the Superstition Mountains the steak is good a bit thin for my taste but the flavor was still there. That's where the good ends The bad - as many other review said the service is slow they are friendly but slow. Do not go there expecting to be taken care of quickly. We try to make reservations for a large party of 13 and it never happened. When we finally got ahold of somebody on the phone they said they would try to inform the diner that never happened. The ugly - The Waitresses seem to be bothered to take our order. One waitressed switch to another to finally the one that took her order. Drinks came out slowly and when the food came not one of our orders was correct. As many of the other reviews said getting your order correct is going to be a task. It's a nice place to visit if you have 30 minutes to spare visit the ghost town get yourself an ice cream but that would be the extent of my recommendation. read more

So my girl and i went in on monday it was nice and busy. We walked in and was greated by the nices guy he was a little older what was crazy he was dressed in boots and a cowboy hat that said cowboydan he was so kind he seated us and got are drinks he explained to us that they do not have waiting list they belive i. Letting everyone sit down and injoy there drinks so yes some people waited 30min for food but i looked at it as i would of waited at least 1 hour to just to be seated in anynother place so. Decent service with ok food at best. Main problem was with silly little extra charges for things like water, fee for splitting a burger between patrons and "rocks" (ice). Believe it or not if you order a premium back bar drink for 7 or 8 dollars they charge you an additional dollar because it is on ice. Management should re-think their ridiculous policies as it causes problems for their staff to deal with and leaves a very bad taste in their customer's mouths. Feeling ripped off and won't return. Suggest that there are many other honest establishments with integrity that are more deserving of your business. read more

We went here while my family was visiting us. My wife and I have lived in Arizona since 2007, have driven past this little ghost town several times but never stopped. We walked around the town for a little while and checked out all the shops, which were pretty cool. Everyone was super nice and friendly. This town is a tourist town so anything "extra" you want to do: reptile exhibit, the museum, pan for gold, is all extra cash. Not much, but it is extra......Oh ya, I was reviewing the Steak House! Sorry, got a little off track. Anyway, after walking around we went in to eat. I had a burger, my wife had the tenderloin sandwich, my sister and brother-in-law shared potato skins and a burger. They were all very good. Surprisingly the prices were not outrageous. I was expecting the typical tourist-trap prices but they were average. You can't go through Apache Junction without spending time at the saloon. The setting doesn't get any better, we ended up spending the whole afternoon there enjoying the live music and the fantastic service of Mike and his father.
