    Tostada

Restaurant had locals - families with small kids but there were empty tables. There was only 1 server so hostess warned us in advance service would be slow. We should have left. Hostess decided to step up and took on waitress service for us. Ordered 3 tostadas and a taco with shredded beef. They were awful. Toppings were all lettuce and not much else. Missing flavor in the meat and no extra salsa offered. Refried beans were like paste - no flavor in these and rice. Maybe I'm just used to more flavorful tacos/tostadas - even Taco Bell.

Lots of TV screens for the sports fans.

It has been four years since I was last here and it's still a great place! I wish I lived closer so we could come more often. Tonight I ordered the taco salad with grilled chicken and it was really great. My boyfriend had a chimichanga. I didn't take any food pictures tonight cause I didn't plan on writing another review since I reviewed this place so long ago, but then after such great service by the staff, particularly Diego, I felt like I should. He was very friendly and very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. He's also a little bit of a prankster, he told us they were out of water when I ordered water as my drink. :) really great welcoming atmosphere, nice place to hang out! Won't wait four years to come back!

I always like coming here because I really like the margaritas. And, now that they have it I'm looking forward to trying out their new happy hour. Everything looked like a great deal. Today I had the fish tacos. I got one grilled and one breaded. Definitely get the grilled because the breaded was really dry, crusty, and hard. I did not like it, but the grilled was alright.

Went for lunch today, ordered an array of seafood dishes. Ceviche, pescado frito red snapper (bomb), chips and salsa/guacamole... good stuff. Service was quick and attentive, food came out fast and fresh. Great choice today.

A family favorite! We've been coming here for years and there's something for everyone - even the grandbabies. Friendly staff and great food - I especially like the oysters (pictured).

I was skeptical of this place since it was tucked away in a shopping plaza, but I was proven wrong. I highly recommend the mango margarita with a tajin rim. Super delicious. My wife said the first three stars are just for their. Chipotle sauce and the last star is for the margarita. Overall the food was good. There aren't many places that do high end Mexican seafood and this place has it all. It lives up to its name. I got the fajitas and they were good. Maybe second on my fajita list. My friends got the giant bowl of fish, as they called it. An interesting mix of seafood with the star actually being the fried white fish. Service was excellent. Food was good. Drinks were awesome. I was torn on three to four star but I went for four on account of the mango margarita.

"Move over, coffee. Today is a job for champagne."…read more Oh yeah, we brunchin'! A bunch of us from my spin class decided to get together for a farewell brunch for one of the gals in my Cycle class. She's a snow bird, coming to Arizona for the cooler months, and was headed home for the summer. I ordered the Bloody Goode Time ($14), shared the Porch Teatime ($45) with the table, and I ordered the Porch's Famous Mac + Cheese ($12, cavatappi pasta, four-cheese blend, with toasted parmesan bread crumbs). I had their Bloody Goode Time at their DT Gilbert location and enjoyed it so much that I got it again. It's a super savory drink that feels like a meal in itself. The Porch Teatime, we had green tea shots instead of Jamesame orange, came in a tiny teapot the server poured out into six tiny tea cups. It was adorable. As for the Porch's Famous Mac + Cheese, it was good! The portion size is just right with no leftovers in sight. Never a bad experience at The Porch!

The Border Bowl is vegetarian-friendly and gluten-free, featuring ateamed white rice, black beans, pico de gallo, roasted jalapeño, housemade guacamole, cilantro-lime crema, and roasted tomato salsa. We walked in just before 430 and the place was packed. That was totally unexpected. Not sure if its always like that or if it was because of the NBA finals. There are large screen TVs everywhere and all playing some sport on it. There was music playing too. With all the people, TV's and music it was very loud to say the least. Our server was super attentive and nice. I ordered the southwest eggrolls that came with a ranch dipping sauce (it was not traditional ranch but I forget what our server called it). It was $5 for my order. These eggrolls were AH-MAZING! The ranch was amazing too! Our server said all their dressings and sauces are made in house which you can definitely taste. My order came with three eggrolls cut in half and I was full after 2. They were very flavorful and not spicy at all. I would order these again in a heartbeat. I tried a friends guacamole which was really good and also not spicy. I would love to see chips and queso on their menu. They had chips and salsa and chips and guacamole but no chips and queso. Also, and the only thing that bothered me is they don't print your check. They hand you their handheld POS device and stand there while you tip them. I don't know if the suggested tip includes tax or not because they don't print your check. I tip on the cost of the meal before tax but this process they have doesn't allow me to do that.

From the moment we sat down, the vibe was right, relaxed ambience, comfortable setting, and the kind of place where you can actually unwind and enjoy your meal without being rushed. The environment just feels good. Our waitress was awesome, attentive, friendly, and kept everything flowing without hovering. That kind of service makes all the difference and she nailed it. Now the food. Let me start with the real star of the show, the Cheesy Mashed Potato Balls. Golden, perfectly crispy panko crust on the outside, and when you bite in? Creamy mashed potato loaded with gooey melted cheese that literally stretches. Paired with that smooth cheese dipping sauce, these are dangerously addictive. I'd order a double next time without hesitation. The wings were incredible, and yes, I taste tested both the Garlic Parmesan AND the BBQ. The Garlic Parm had that rich, savory coating with a beautiful caramelized char. The BBQ brought a sweet, smoky glaze that had me licking my fingers. Both were meaty, juicy, and fall-off-the-bone tender. Honestly couldn't pick a favorite, you need both. I also grabbed a burger on a pretzel bun with bacon and sweet potato fries, stacked high, messy in the best way, and the pretzel bun held up like a champ. The Hub has that classic neighborhood grill vibe with quality that punches above its weight. Delicious food, generous portions, great service, and a relaxing spot to kick back. Will absolutely be back. Pro tip: Don't sleep on those mashed potato balls. Order them first. And get both wing flavors, thank me later.

Roosters Country is hands down the worst excuse for a bar I've ever set foot in. Calling it a "dive…read morebar" is an insult to actual dive bars. This place is a cesspool with booze. The floors are sticky enough to rip the soles off your shoes, the air smells like a mix of old cigarettes, sour mop water, and broken dreams, and the bathrooms are straight out of a horror movie. If you don't catch a staph infection here, consider yourself lucky. The drinks? Absolute garbage. Watered down, overpriced, and served in glasses that look like they haven't seen soap since the Bush administration. The bartenders couldn't care less -- they'd rather ignore you than make a drink worth drinking. The bouncers act like they're auditioning for a WWE villain role, puffing their chests at anyone who blinks the wrong way. And the crowd? Imagine every bad Tinder date you've ever had stuffed into one room with a soundtrack of off-key karaoke and a sound system that makes your ears beg for mercy. If you like fights breaking out over spilled beer and listening to drunk strangers scream into your face, congratulations -- you've found your paradise. Save yourself the misery. There are porta-potties at construction sites in Mesa that are more inviting than this dump. Roosters Country should come with a warning label: Enter at your own risk, and don't expect to leave with your dignity -- or your shoes.
