Thank you Yelpers for helping us re-find this place. When I was looking for breakfast I had not realized we'd been before. We were actually staying in Pendleton but wanted to explore out. This spot was perfect for patio sitting with Daisy. The staff were attentive and friendly. We asked our waitress what she recommended and she didn't guide us wrong. What was really interesting, is that the omelettes are the oven baked in so they come out really puffy really moist and it's so delicious. Understanding that this place is very popular in Walla Walla and gets good reviews. I thought it was OK. They do give you a lot of food which may be why so many people give great reviews. The food itself was fairly average and nothing that I would say was exceptional. It is very busy and loud inside the café. The service was OK, but our server seemed a bit rushed and was actually looking around the restaurant as she was taking our order. That was odd. She seemed disinterested in us as diners, which I can partially understand as the place was very busy on a Friday morning. The weight was approximately 20 minutes to be seated. If I am to go to breakfast in Walla Walla again, this would not be my first choice. I know compared to other reviews. We walked over to the Maple Counter from the Marriott during a wine tasting weekend trip. There were six in our group and in October it was still warm, we elected to sit outside in order to be seated right away and enjoy the weather. I had the corned beef, which was excellent. A slow roasted traditional corned beef, layered on homestyle potatoes with a cooked to order egg atop. The buttermilk pancakes that my companions ordered, I'm told were delish. The staff was working overtime to get orders out and refill coffee. The Maple Counter Cafe has a large menu of items to choose from, with breakfast items as its specialty. They do have lunch fare, but the breakfast should not be missed. I started with a bloody mary, and my friends and I shared a dutch baby. For an entrée, I ordered the corned beef hash. The dutch baby was yummy! It was huge, so is definitely worth sharing. It also came with a side of powdered sugar, whipped cream and butter; but honestly, I didn't even think it needed any of that because it was so good on its own. My corned beef hash was also fantastic. It came in a skillet with the corned beef chunks over the hash browns and I had two poached eggs over it. It was so delicious that I didn't want to stop eating, but it's a hefty one, so ended up taking half to go. We all loved our food from here! Staff was also super friendly and service was on point, with multiple servers refilling water glasses and coffee mugs throughout our entire time. Definitely a cozy spot with friendly service. The food is heavy and laden with butter and sugar. A 3 egg omelette comes with a side of 3 pancakes. It is enough food to feed two adults and a small child, but would it be weird to order a single dish for your whole family? Honestly, I don't understand the portions. Just cut the serving size in half and charge 3 or 4 dollars less. The meal left me not feeling great but I generally eat a pretty clean diet and am probably more sensitive than most. I have enough takeaway food for my family to eat another meal, but I'm not sure I want to. Sigh. read more

BF and I went here yesterday morning and it was absolutley wonderful! They were very busy, but we were seated right away. Lots of attentive staff, we didn't have to wait long for anything. Great mimosa options, beautiful bloody mary. Our waitress recommended 2 of her favorites, which we ordered. The Blueberry Crumble French Toast was out of this world, I've never had better! This was our first visit to this restaurant, although I'm surprised to make that statement. We've been coming to Walla Walla at least once a year and often more than that, but we never stopped in. Now that we have been here, this will be our go to breakfast joint when in town. It's often busy, but you can order a drink while you're waiting for your table and they'll bring it out to you. If you go there on Sunday mornings, know that you will probably end up on waist list for a while. The tables are crowded and close together so it's not really conducive to great conversations, especially if you have kiddos in your group. However, if you don't get too hangry (grab a snack before you head over) it will be worth the wait. It was close to lunch so I went for the special burger only available Monday through Friday starting at 11am. It was 11am so I ordered the Chuck Ground Burger with Two Strips of Bacon with Walla Walla Onion Jam, Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato and a massive side of waffle fries. The fries were a little salty with the seasoning but very tasty and cooked perfectly. This is our midway stop between Seattle and Boise and a good place to bookmark if you are in the area. The food was amazing and had some nice, additional options for breakfast. The portions are enough to feed a person for at least two breakfasts, which is great when a traveler wants leftovers the next day. However, this order was placed for delivery online. Second time we have attempted thus with this place. The delivery once again was an hour later than first anticipated or promised. The delivery driver was working with a different agency and was angry when they arrived, due to the treatment they said they received in the restaurant while waiting to collect the order to deliver. They stated that this particular restaurant is notorious for treating the drivers this way. Whether or not that is true, I think it is worthy of noting, so that customer service can tighten up in all areas. read more

Maple counter is a well known locals favorite! When I first moved here I came to see what all of the fuss was about and I decided to try eggs Benedict for the first time. Of course it was incredible. The holly sauce was so creamy especially when the yolk oozed out with it. I believe I got the Californian so there was avocado as well and it was just amazing. They are famous for their pancakes so I got one on the side and I've never had a pancake like this- it literally melted in my mouth. So fluffy, tender, delicate and buttery! The only thing is didn't care for was the potatoes. I was expecting more traditional cubed breakfast potatoes and they were scalloped and less flavorful than everything else. Overall great experience and worth the longer wait times. If you're vegetarian and especially if you're vegan, your options here are more limited but there is something for everyone! read more

What an amazing breakfast and service. I was surprised that even though there was a long line we were sat within 10 minutes. I got scrambled eggs and bacon and my lord the eggs were fluffy and cooked to perfection as was the tasty bacon. I also got the apple pancake which was the highlight of the meal.
