I was never made aware of the policy - not in the documents that were sent over for signature (release of liability waivers) and the owner never told me. So how is a first time client supposed to know? It's not even posted in by the check in/out area. So I cancelled my future appointments and requested a refund. Neither of us were disappointed. The Manzanita had the apple flavor but it wasn't too strong. I'd never had flan before and it was quite enjoyable, sweet and smooth. My SIL and I were like "wait, what?" We left it alone and browsed for a sec - the owner then took literally 47 seconds to type a name into the computer and did come up with a couple of products for my SIL's friend, but she acted like we were asking her to violate HIPAA. This store has plenty of tea, and I totally get why other people love it. I also get why December is hard on small businesses and maybe the owner was just having a bad day. For me, the unfortunate part of our visit wasn't the tea, which I'm sure is....fine? It was seeing the light go out of my big-hearted SIL's eyes when she realized the owner was not remotely interested in connecting with an eager customer. Everyone thinks SF is so vegan-friendly, but never do I get to walk into a coffee shop and find dedicated, intentional, and creative vegan dishes! Mildred's has two delicious options: Vegan breakfast wrap and the Vegan breakfast Hash. The wrap is huge and has tofu, potato, vegan chorizo, and vegan aioli. Easily 2 portions! The hash is my favorite of the two. It's the same ingredients but with added arugula. I liked eating it more off a plate, and the arugula added a fresh and peppery touch. This place is always busy, but it's also spacious with plenty of seating. So glad I got to try this place out!
