I was really impressed with PTs - enough so that I prioritize a visit every time I'm back in the KC metro. They really do have their brews dialed in. The espresso is above average, and I love the house made syrups they offer. I'd highly recommend stopping in for a seasonal beverage and snagging a bag of beans to take home. read more

The staff was very friendly and happy to recommend a sandwich while I was deciding, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the cold brew was extremely weak and tasted watered down. When I brought it back, the staff explained that it's made from concentrate and that sometimes the mixture gets off. Rather than remaking it, though, I was charged extra to add a double espresso. It still didn't taste quite right, but I didn't want to make an issue of it. The turkey club itself was very good, although it had far too much mayonnaise for my taste. Overall, I'd still come back and give the place another try because the food and atmosphere showed promise. read more

The coffee was great! Nice and smooth. The breakfast sandwich was tasty but the bun was a little too big in my opinion. There was only one egg so many bites were just bacon and bread. One of downtowns coffee stops.. inviting and functional with booths that have plugs. My 20 oz Iced Caramel/Lavender Latte Espresso (almond milk) and PT's Classic Breakfast Sandwich were both pretty good. I never really add anything to caramel but took a chance and even when I asked for more caramel which was vegan btw.. they obliged. The vegan flavor took some getting use to when I got to the bottom of my drink, it was very grainy. I don't think I'll have it again. read more

Had a yummy iced vanilla latte at PT's this morning! Many of my coffee-loving friends would appreciate that they have beans for sale as well. I love coffee and find it hard to articulate how nasty this coffee was. I ordered a caramel latte, it contained coffee grinds. It was also very expensive, over $7 for such a poorly crafted drink. I ended up throwing it in the trash during my walk. The staff member I interacted with was nice, the shop is nice and clean, the drink was just horrible. TLDR of my review, delicious coffee, fantastic flavors and the perfect level of sweetness! We stopped by on a whim to grab a couple of coffees to go, and tried two seasonal flavors. My hubby got the s'mores iced coffee and I got one with bergamot which was wild and tasty! I had a moment of buyer's remorse when I got him the s'mores coffee, since usually it's just overly sweet and no flavor. This, however, was the complete opposite. How can they add the flavor of graham crackers without actually adding crackers??? PT's is very spacious and quiet for those who want to get work done! I was very disappointed with the coffee. I tried an iced caramel latte and a lavender latte. Walked by here on our way to brunch and stopped for a quick cup of coffee. It's our first time in downtown KC and aren't familiar with the area. We were quickly greeted by friendly baristas and a relaxing atmosphere. I had a red eye with the flying monkey blend espresso and it was strong and delightful! My husband ordered the frosted mocha which is a current special and is a white mocha with rosemary syrup. He said it was super tasty and the rosemary was a nice change. He was the only one working initially, and had about 5-6 customers waiting. Still, he provided service with a smile and was apologetic for the delay. I love this cafe! It's in the hidden part of Downtown Kansas City. It's off a street (Baltimore and between 13th/14th) that isn't too populated which is nice, but still located in the heart of the city. I been here twice now with my sisters. I ordered the Peach Apricot Smoothie, Jalapeno Kettle Chips, and their Breakfast Burrito. It was the best combos if you are hungry like I was. The barista working, named Sophie, was very friendly, helpful, and overall good at her job for working solo. It got busy at one point and she was able to handle the line gracefully in a calm manner. Great customer service skills! Keep up the good work! The place is new and modern. I love the high top booth seating areas, very comfy with plenty of outlets if you ever need to study, work, or just hangout. There are two single bathrooms that are very clean and organized. NonThe staff is friendly and if your drink isn't up to par they will fix it. Clean, welcoming place, smells great. It doesn't have the same feel as the Crossroads location, but it has a good vibe and internet avaible for working. They still have the same great quality coffee they are known for and a low key vibe. read more

It looks like I've found a new addition to my coffee rotation in downtown KC in PT's. Came in at the recommendation of a co-worker. Ordered a signature drip coffee and a s'mores pop tart. Coffee was some of the best I've had in quite some time - smooth and somewhat fruity/nutty. Pop tart was just okay - it was a bit dry, suggesting it may not have been as fresh as I was hoping. I absolutely love this location! The staff are absolutely incredible! I started coming during the pandemic and I really appreciate that they followed CDC Guidelines on mask and social distancing and enforced it! Absolutely the type of business I want to put my support into. Laura the manager is incredible. She's super kind and has trained her staff exceedingly well. The crew here is definitely amazing!! One of my favorite neighborhood coffee spots. The interior is small but cozy. The baristas are always extremely kind and cheerful, no matter what time of day I've been in. I appreciate how early PT's opens on weekdays, while most other coffee shops don't open until 7:00 AM. And most importantly, they make great coffee. I was just in your downtown Kansas City coffee establishment this morning. I frequent your coffee shop often since I live in the building at the Power and Light Apartments. I was belittled , offended and made feel ashamed because I did not have a mask on as a customer. Your employee was adamantly stating her opinion. ( currently Downtown Kansas City does not require customers to wear a mask.) of course I practice social distancing while on your establishment. This young lady needs to do her job and not pick arguments regarding political/covid stands. I feel hurt and attacked by this over bearing young lady.
