Made it here for lunch on 01/28/20. They took over the former The Catch/Smash Burger spot which is awesome to see here. Located in a small shopping strip with a decent sized parking lot. It is a mix between a butcher shop and small dine in area or outdoor patio. When you walk in, directly to the left, they have a cashier counter where you can order and pay for dine in food . They will give you a tag with a number on it and will bring the food out to you. The menu is not huge, but they do have some delicious looking items on the menu. On the day I came, they had most items available and said some were not available. So they may have some options not available based on the day but note, they have only been open for a few weeks now so that may change. All sandwiches and hot dogs include with chips, pickle and water, tea or coffee. They have a water and tea station in the back you can fill with a plastic TMB cups. Once I found a place to sit, it took about 5 minutes to get the my steak sandwich($15) in hand. I would recommend if you're going to eat here to dine in, as the kolache bun might get too soggy if you get it to go. The bun is perfectly made and works well as a sandwich bread. Soft and easy to bite into. The meat was tender with the blue cheese being a prominent flavor in each bite. You get a heaping pile of crispy chips which were also good. Staff here was super courteous, server that dropped off my food made sure to ask if I needed any ketchup and later on, an older gentleman made sure to go around to each table and ask how things were and if we needed anything. The Butcher Shop: Take up the main part of the store space. There is an actual butcher in the back you can see through a window and them cuts of meat in the counters and a few people you can ask about the meat. It's a swanky butcher shop for all your meat needs but i have not yet tried any of their cuts just yet but will definitely be back to try it out. read more

This new butcher shop opened a few weeks ago. The service is outstanding and the meat is incredible. I am so glad we have a real butcher shop nearby. They will hand-carve anything for you, to any weight or thickness that you desire. The beef selection is outstanding, and they also have a number of other items including sausages, chicken, a selection of cheeses, and other add-ons for dinner (salad, twice baked potatoes, etc.). Highly recommend this place. Along with outstanding customer service the food was just as amazing. First off I've never been to a local butcher that made me feel like I was visiting a friends house. I mean they made sure all of our needs were met and even gave us a tour of the place before we ordered. They have all kinds of beef chicken and fish and can cut a steak to your liking if they don't have on display what you would like to order. We were there for lunch so I ordered the hot dog that was suggested by the gentleman working the register. My side was house made kettle cooked chips which were pretty good. All kettle cooked chips taste the same to me but I think it's cool that they make theirs in house. This hot dog was like nothing I've ever tasted. It had a clean pure non processed taste. Not like the typical greasy pork fat hot dog water taste. Grilled to perfection and topped with chili and cheese wrapped up in a toasted bun yum yum and another yum is all I can say to describe the state of bliss I was in when eating my fabulous meal. Back to the customer service everyone was still asking us how we liked the food, did we need anything or if we had any questions about the food or just how did we like the food it was an amazing feeling. I went to The Meat Board last Friday for lunch as well as to buy several meat items for an upcoming family event. First, the lunch was very impressive. I had a BLT sandwich with homemade potato chips and sweet tea. I've had BLTs all over the world and The Meat Board's BLT was "hands down" the best I've ever had--the thick sliced bacon was perfectly cooked and the veggies, along with the bread, were ultra fresh. And the home made potato chips were a real treat--I haven't had those in years. Now, the meats. As you can see from their photos on Facebook and here, their steaks are nothing short of exquisite--perfectly marbled and trimmed as well as fresh. Their briskets are top of the line "choice" and their thick cut bacon is cured to perfection. In addition, the baby back ribs, as well as the St Louis style ribs, have lots of meat on the bone with just the right amount of fat for grilling or smoking. And they have a wide variety of specialty sausages. I met several of the owners/partners of The Meat Board and I was quite impressed with their educational backgrounds (Meat Science and Microbiology) as well as their extensive expertise in meat production and processing--they know their business. As one can see from my attached photos, I put my money where my mouth is and brought home an ice chest full of meat. My purchases are displayed on the tail gate of my truck before going into the deep freeze: 2 briskets, 2 racks of baby back ribs, 1 rack of St Louis ribs, 3 pounds of thick sliced cured bacon, and a package of jalapeño cheese sausages. Bottom line: If you're looking for a great lunch and top of the line quality meats for your grill or smoker, you owe it to yourself to visit the The Meat Board. I found myself on Camp Bowie with a hungry tummy this afternoon so I checked my Yelp Bookmarks to see where I should go. The Meat Board was only a block away so that settled it! I walked in and it was a little confusing with no clear direction of where to go or what to do so here's the lowdown. There are several counters with lots of employees at each counter to help you with the various items offered in each counter. There's a sandwich board with the menu right in front of you as you walk in. Decide what you want and immediately inside the door on your left is a register where you order cooked food. Order and pay and they give you a number. (BTW, when you order a sammie or salad you get complimentary coffee, tea or water!) Hang your number facing out and they will bring your food to the table. They have a long bar with tall stools or several tables that seat 2 or 3. They also had usb plugs and an occasional charging cord. I ordered the Chili Cheese Dog. Oh dang, it's a big weiner on a toasted lobster roll with chili and cheese. They even put an extra little cup of chili on the side if you need more. It comes with a huge stack of delicious fresh made potato chips and a yummy pickle spear. Y'all, it was good and these people are so stinkin' NICE! Several of them stopped by to check on me or to chat. It looked like some people come in just to shoot the $#!% with these people because they're so friendly!? They have a butcher counter with top quality meats of all kinds that they will slice to any portion size needed. It appeared that they also had some fish. They have a cooler with side dishes and desserts (cheesecake and pecan pie) if you want more or want to take it home for supper. Everything was SUPER clean! Even the well stocked bathroom. I heard about The Meat Board online through the Fort Worth Foodies group, and to my delight I found out they carried the Volleman's milk. I went to return the bottle today for the $2 deposit they give and you buy more milk. Unfortunately, The Meat Board no longer carries the milk. This is no fault of their own but due to lack of goods and delivery on the dairy's side. Don, the owner, was so kind and offered to still give us the $2 back on the deposit. He was very apologetic, although this was no fault of his own. We got to chatting about meat and their lunch and I'm so excited to come back and check them out. This place is so warm and inviting and the staff is all so kind and engaging. We will definitely be back to try their lunch. Thank you for the hospitality. read more

I found The Meat Board on Yelp and the 5 stars are well deserved and having never been to Fort Worth I took an Uber there and was not let down. Ordering from Nick, one of the partners and owners at the front, he made sure I added an egg to my BLT...and the chili was perfectly spicy with a cold IPA. Everyone was friendly and most importantly as I took the first bites and devoured the home made perfectly done chips, Don, the other owner came over to make sure I had everything I needed. I ended up speaking with both Nick and Don and it is clear that they have invested their hearts and passion into this business. I am so grateful to have wandered in and been given the first rate care and hospitality that is rare these days.
