Australian wagyu flat iron steaks and grass fed ribeye
    Miguel R.

Meat was very good and super tender! Picked up some Australian wagyu flatirons and a grass fed ribeye. Only thing I'd say besides great product, is it seemed more expensive then most grass fed butchers I regularly go to.

We love this meat shop so much!! We're regulars here for our bbq needs they have the freshest meat here in Phoenix. So purchased two racks of ribs, steak and yes doh food for your four legged fur baby.. Like always the best customer service ever! The staff here is super helpful we don't purchase our meat anywhere but here. This is the store to shop at for your meat.

Hands down, the best Prime Ribeye, I've ever found. Hour smoke at low temp in the Traeger with reverse, cast iron sear and finished with Meat Shops Butter-luxe steak seasoning. It's honestly the best steak I've ever made and largely due to the quality of the meat. Owner is incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Place is spotless and prices are more than fair considering the level of quality you get. After finding this locally owned, small business gem, I will buy my meat from nowhere else!

    $42 steak after trimmed

Very disappointing. $42 for a steak. By the time I trimmed it, there wasn't even enough for 1 person. I spent $250 for 5 of these pathetic steaks.

Definitely wouldn't order a brisket from this place again. The brisket had no fat cap. There was a dark spot due to either old or exposed to air too long. There was also hair on it. Assuming it is from the cow. I cut away what should have been trimmed at the butcher and still tried to cook it. Was the worst brisket I have ever had.

This place knows what they are doing. Dry aging at the front counter, meats trimmed perfectly with no over excess fat to push the price up, the marbling in the prime looks nearly wagyu quality, every sought after cut you're looking for and literally band sawed my steaks fresh for me and then chamber vacuumed it. WHAT!? Not to mention he was breaking a whole pig down in the back. Very impressed.

Don't bother with this place. They magically never have what you want. Whether it be strips, roasts, lamb or filets.

It wasn't easy for me to find parking, even late at night, but I did find one space nearby. It seemed like about 20-25% of their floorspace is alcohol, but in the rest they have a very wide variety of things, tailored to the local college student population. They have a small selection of fresh produce, they have fresh meats and cheeses, as well as a lot of canned/preserved foods and frozen foods. They also have a small/basic selection of pet supplies and they have kitchen utensils. Overall this seems like a very versatile shop, having just about everything you need, until 2am. The place was clean, well lit, and I was very comfortable shopping late at night. The cashier was polite and friendly, though he didn't offer me a receipt and I didn't notice until later, and I would have liked one. Oh well. I bought a pre-made turkey & cheese croissant sandwich for $7 and it was decent.

And his favorite among the great jam producers is Cotton Country. And I have to admit, I'm pretty happy with their product, too. My first visit to their store a few holiday seasons ago resulted in the best thumbprint cookies I ever made. The delicate rum-flavored cookie filled with Cotton Country's Sambuca Blueberry with Coffee Beans jam was devoured by all. Meaning me. I also think their jalapeno jam is excellent. Filled with sliced peppers, it has just the right amount of kick. While equally good, the chipotle plum was just to hot for me. The Cherry Amaretto Delight is my current favorite, but there are dozens more to try. And let's not forget the sauces and salsas and pickled products. Even their vodka sauce makes a pretty good quick meal. While the country store may be a little far for me, I need not worry. They're at the Old Town farmers market and Downtown Phoenix markets every Saturday, too!
