I had such a wonderful experience here today. I was having a bad day and stopped by hoping to get a tri-tip sandwich, not realizing they were already closing. As I was walking up, I saw someone with a meet up shirt on, leaving and asked if they were closed. He said yes, but immediately asked if there was something I needed. I told him I had just been hoping to get a tri-tip sandwich, and instead of turning me away, he went out of his way to make sure I was taken care of. I mentioned that I had been having a rough day, and the kindness he showed me genuinely turned my day around. 6/20/26: In preparation for Father's Day, I visited the Meat Up for the steak we have depended on for a good time: Carrara Farms from Australia. They were rated BMS 8-9 and were (IMO) the best meat to marbled fat ratio. They have since switched brands to another Australian farm with a BMS of 9+. The fellow behind the counter (~1430) was super helpful) and assisted us in finding a ribeye that was comparable to that good beefiness. He helped us select American Wagyu Beef from Winter Frost Farms in the good ole US of A! He said it had a low melting point for the fat and great tender beef flavor throughout. We deferred to his knowledge and's I requested a thick cut. They will butcher whatever size you want. Winter Frost did a great job. At $36 per pound, it was significantly less than the $50 per pound we were getting. We enjoyed the ribeye immensely. Thanks for all the help! read more

I have to update my review to add the tri tip sandwich. I should have asked for no bbq sauce. That was my bad. I don't like bbq sauce on tri tip. But the meat itself was smoky and tender. Not my favorite in town but a close second, and they give you a generous amount. Unfortunately, both my husband and I ordered half sandwiches and we were charged for and given full sandwiches. Since we were given the full sandwiches my husband didn't want to go back and complain. It seems they have added more tables on the side to accommodate more seating. I got a sandwich smaller than my hand for 11 There is a good amount of meat in there which I like but I had to pay an extra dollar for onions Sadly they put BBQ sauce on my sandwich which I hate. This is a great place to buy any type of meat as well as a great hot lunch. They have a different sandwich everyday and always have a tri-tip sandwich available. But get there early, they will run out by 2 pm most days. Their fries are fried in beef tallow which makes them incredible. As far as the meat selection goes they have great options, from sliced sandwich meats to wagyu beef and tomahawk steaks. The ambiance is casual and very clean. Bookmarked for too long, we visited on a Wednesday whim for lunch. Polite staff. Clean and sleek both indoors and outdoors. There was a bit of a line that shortened quickly. We ordered inside, and we were served outside. Had to try their everyday served, what they're known for, the tri tip steak sandwich. Also ordered beef tallow fries and tater tots. Everything was awesome, and I could revisit for each separately. Obviously, I won't because I want it all again. A nice variety of packaged raw and butcher cuts is available for purchase. Been wanting so bad to try this place and the stars were aligned so I finally made it. Wow let me start with that. I am a carnivore the selection of sandwiches were out of this world so many to choose from made hot or cold you name it and no scrimping on the meat on your meat selection. Also the meat counter was so cool I mean very select cuts could be purchased to take home and prepare. The guys at the counters were so nice and friendly making sure you got everything you wanted. Lots of uncovered parking in the lot. Super friendly staff lots of meats to choose from anything from chicken that's been marinated and some of it frozen as well as frozen fish, scallops, etc. They also have ground pork beef but check to see if they have it not frozen. But other than that, they have all the meats , you would ever need very high-quality and worth coming here for it. read more

I let her know I would be on my way...... Arrived! Greeted right when I entered. I let him know and he got my order. Very kind worker! Offered salsa and yes please! Added. Order ready and received. My family and I stopped here for a Sunday lunch. The inside of the shop has refrigerators full of combo boxes with steaks, chicken and kabobs ready to be cooked at home. The menu offers daily sandwich/burger specials. There are also staple sandwiches that are available daily. I ordered the roast beef sandwich and they do not skimp on the meat! I definitely had to take half home for later. There is an option to order half a sandwich as well if you don't want leftovers. I ordered fries as a side and they came out piping hot and fresh. Man was I excited to try this place for a couple months now and was highly disappointed. Last night we ordered the trip tip cooked, chicken and sides as a relative was visiting and we wanted to treat them to a family meal. The trip tip seems to be sous vide, not bbq or smoked, overcooked, but still tender like a lunch meat texture. Lacking of flavor and crust I desire from a tri tip, which seemed so odd for a place that is meat based. Also slices wear so inconsistent, some thick as heck and some thin, they also regrilled it after it was cooked, very odd looking and did nothing for it. 4/10 Chicken was nice and tender also not grilled or flavorful. No rating it was just okay, Baked beans are full mush, you couldn't even really see a whole bean anywhere in it, the only ingredient you can tell was in it was cubed chunks of meat fat. 0/10 Rice pilaf was basic. Nothing to write home about. 5/10 Potato salad is extra extra chunky, flavor was good, but the 1/2 boiled egg as a bite was displeasing. 6/10 I definitely expected a better cuisine for the area of Shepard and willow with surrounding restaurants. Our cashier was very friendly, made conversation, jokes, and was very helpful in guiding us through the menu and other items they sell. This location was very clean and organized! Well i thought this was a butcher shop, its not....this is more of other business butcher shops on display....companies like SRF are sold here...so i was a disappointed in that.... ... I also got a couple of tri tip sandwiches...well the meat was super tender like we all like but...it was also lacking more flavor and ingredients...it was just meat and bread with a thin layer of bbq sauce for $15...i see today, when posting my pics and review, i could of also got grilled onions for $1 more....say what? to me, its like going to a hamburger place and they ask you if you want condiments & veggies, and they tell you its going to be $1 more for each item you select...i will pass, thanks.... I also tried the fries, cooked in tallow...and they're okay but, mine were not hot and were warm at best...for me they have to be hot or they'er not as good...so that was disappointing It's a brand new building so everything is brand new but...the seating is very limited and its outside...and so I dont want to sit out there in the middle of winter in the morning time... bottom line...will i go back...naw im good, thanks... read more

Here's a cleaned-up version that keeps it warm, human, and genuine...just tighter and easier to read, without losing your voice: First time visiting, and I was impressed right away. The place was very clean, and I genuinely enjoyed walking through the doors. I was immediately greeted, and all of my questions were answered quickly. I originally came in just to grab some bacon and ended up choosing the Hickory Smoked... and decided to try the Churro Style too (very excited about that). Before I knew it, I was getting lunch as well and went with the Tuesday special: the Shredded Beef Dip sandwich with tots. The sandwich was delicious--soft bread, perfectly cooked beef, and an au jus that wasn't overly salty (which I really appreciate). The tots were amazing. First time trying them in beef tallow... wow. Crispy, flavorful, and the perfect bite with the ranch. And that ranch? Definitely not your regular ranch...can't quite put my finger on it, but it was really good. I'll definitely be back. The breakfast burrito was really good with tritip in place of bacon.However I went back the second time and the lady gave me a bad time about wanting to replace the bacon with Tri tip. She said they could do that in a bowl but not in the burrito. So I ask you what's the difference between putting it in a bowl or just simply wrapping it in a tortilla? Pretty damn good sandwich! Finally got over to the new location at The Row. Hadn't been in a rush to get over there though because the parking lot in this shopping is severely inadequate for the amount of people it draws to the businesses here. Almost every storefront is a popular draw, the small parking lot is a bit of a deterrent to even try to get in somewhere here to patron the businesses. Fortunately, I was driving by just after 1pm and decided to give it a shot. There were a few parking spots so I didn't have to circle the lot. I have been looking forward to trying the pastrami for some time and it was my luck day because it's only available on Fridays ... and it was Friday! I ordered the half sandwich for $9. While I waited for my sandwich I perused the freezer and refrigerated cases that had all different varieties of meat, chicken, sausages and lunch meat for purchase. When I received my sandwich, I was initially disappointed in how small it looked, however, upon opening it I saw that it was loaded with paper thin pastrami. Sandwich was tasty! Meat was soft and tender, not fatty and melted in your mouth. The stone ground mustard wasn't too tangy, almost unnoticeable. The bread was soft and super fresh. The only thing that could have made this pastrami sandwich better would be adding some tangy sauerkraut. Maybe it could be an add on? Overall, great sandwich! Would like to try the tri-tip. Would come back for the pastrami, parking permitting. Sidebar observation: If you're a single lady and looking for a unique place to meet a guy that isn't the dating apps, Move over Home Depot and grocery store produce isle, The Meat Up (wink wink) low key might be a great spot if you're a single lady to "meat" someone new. I visited The Meat Up on Monday to get a chicken sandwich. It was very good. The chicken was very tender. I would say I would visit here every once in a while because the sandwiches are very pricey!
