It is actually impressive their ability to have dry meat and soggy starches. There is also an over all lack of flavor.

The food was just insanely delicious and the service was amazing. I mean ending the night with that candy cart is just genius. It's pretty low cost for the restaurant but such a fun photo opp and nostalgic box to take home. This was probably the most expensive meal I've ever had, so I'm also really glad it was the best. Starting with the bread service the olive oil, honey, and butter were amazing. It was hard to restrain myself from eating a ton of it. The corn custard, scallops, and pierogi were delicious, but that wagyu beef, so freaking delicious. It came with a steak sauce where you mix the quail egg into it. Yum! It was just the best beef dish I have ever had. I can say enough good things about it. The kombucha pallet cleanser was also adorable before dessert. They think so much about the fun and whimsy of the presentation here, it just makes it that much more memorable. The posset for dessert, (their signature dessert) was beautiful and delicious as well. The wine pairing was spot on and I enjoyed every glass. The champagne tasting they also offer was pretty tempting, but also a bit more pricey than what I needed to tack on to an already expensive bill. My only complaint was the $10 small cup of coffee. Like they could have at least left the pot on the table. It just felt a little overkill to me when you already are spending $350 on the meal, maybe include the coffee. The singer was also a lovely touch to the meal. She had a beautiful voice and could sing everything from pop songs to opera. Super impressive! I really want to head back here with my husband, it is a dining experience you will never forget!

Staff are all so nice and very helpful in explaining everything if it's your first time there. You order first, then sit at your table (you can keep an open tab to order more food or drinks when you want), and they'll give you your table number. Food comes out pretty quickly and they're attentive in removing empty plate plates just as fast. Quite tasty! As meat eaters, we really appreciated this vegan twist! The pierogi's are an excellent choice for perhaps the less adventurous- yet does not disappoint! The stuffed cabbage was really yummy! And we enjoyed our appetizer- cucumber and radish salad with rye. It made me like radishes again! Simple and fresh ingredients, make for a tasty dinner. Can't wait to come back!

Fantastic vibe in there as well, cool lighting (although something from up above kept falling). It's a highly acclaimed place for a reason. I got to try their beet soup (borscht), tea, potato pancake, and rice pudding dessert. The menu changes decently consistently I believe, and I did visit a little while ago, for notice. The food was very tasty. Huge potato pancake that was cooked perfectly with a nice topping of what I can only describe as vegan sour cream and some sort of very flavorful vegetables. I quite liked it, surprisingly tasty and creamy topping. Now the borscht, which I tend to be picky with, was just okay. The number one detractor for the borscht was the salt level. The food is just far, far too salty (the pancake was pretty salty too). Other than that, quite good. Love the side of rye. The dessert was very good. Surprisingly light. Came with a little caramelized baked fruit on top (apple/pear, something like that). Rice was reasonably creamy and very flavorful. So good! All in all, a nice spot for a nice dinner. Especially great for vegans. However, the food did taste too salty for my liking.

Service was also very friendly and personable. We ate in the back courtyard, it was hot, but we were so preoccupied by how good the food was, it wasn't a problem. I'd like to try sitting inside the restaurant, but when it's a bit cooler. One critique I'd offer is that two of us ordered the "pot pie" dish, which tasted great but the temperature was too high - we had to wait 15-20 minutes for any small amount of heat reduction. Perhaps that's something to look into, but the dish was still excellent. Note that it's cash and/or Venmo only, so be prepared before visiting.

If a restaurant requires automatic gratuity, that needs to be clearly stated ahead of time and shown on the bill. Tips should not be demanded after the fact through pressure or intimidation, especially with younger customers who may not fully understand the restaurant's cash/card policies. This should have been handled with professionalism, not embarrassment or intimidation. they didn't know it was cash or or cash app or venmo and these kids panicked to make sure that they could pay and came up with it and my question is why can't they take tap on venmo i'm a small business owner and I can use tap to pay with Venmo. You didn't need to embarrass them and make them have a horrible experience. I would've came myself later on as a parent feeling bad about what the experience was and made sure that that waitress got a huge tip now me and my family will never come there. And I will never encourage anybody to go there. You embarrassed a bunch of kids I hope you're proud of yourself. these kids came specifically here because they went to France with their high school and wanted to experience the vibe that Cafe Du Jour had to offer and felt mortified, which is an understatement.

It was amazing!! it started with the bread...oh my, so fresh, with a sprinkle of salt on top, delicous flavor and served with fresh olive oil. what a fantastic way to start! It was incredible. the melon was so fresh and ripe and the prosciutto was wonderful. we both ordered the lasagna for dinner. the 7 layer freshly made pasta is thin, delicious and one of the best lasagnas I have ever eaten! We had the bread and lasagna leftover and it was just as delicious the next night! You need to try this place!

The standout of the evening was the compressed watermelon salad. Served over a bed of creamy Gorgonzola with strawberry reduction, basil oil, pepitas, and microgreens, it was honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten. Every bite was incredibly fresh, bright, and perfectly balanced. I could happily eat this every day for the rest of my life. For entrées, we shared the veal saltimbocca, which was fork-tender with a beautifully rich sauce, and a light zucchini, corn, and shrimp pasta that tasted like summer on a plate. Fresh vegetables, sweet corn, and a delicate sauce let every ingredient shine without feeling heavy. Excellent service!!! We'll definitely be back.
