What a hidden find! "Let's go for some Middle-Eastern food", we said to each other. We were in the Robinson area and did a quick YELP search. Found Shah's. Put the directions in and headed there. Not a big fan of the traffic in that area, so we were a little shocked when the directions took us to Walmart. But, boy were we surprised. What fabulous food! The portions are HUGE. Not the best ambiance for dine in but an ok place. Good was also ok. Nothing too crazy. The person serving was kind of dry personality and didn't even smile or said Hi. Came here for dinner one evening, as I was in the mood for Mediterranean food. The guy working the counter was friendly and accommodating. The menu isn't very exciting and so much of what you might order uses ingredients which are pre-made and scooped out to make the order. The first thing I noticed which was odd was that the flat top grill was completely polished and clean, so this told me whatever I ordered was already cooked. I went for the simple chicken served over rice with veggies (in my case a salad) on top. The salad was fresh and the rice was spot-on perfect Basmati with cumin seeds in it. The chicken didn't have any flavor at all and there were some gristly pieces in it. It's a bold red color, but that doesn't indicate flavor, just coloring. Regarding the sauces... The green sauce was decent, it's a cilantro type sauce and it tasted decent. The white sauce was bland. The red, hot sauce was definitely incredibly spicy, but had hardly any flavor. Overall, it's adequate and I'm sure that many who want moderate flavors would appreciate it. I prefer more depth of flavor and spice and this was too bland for me. read more

I've been here at least 5 times and have never been disappointed. The line, if there even is one, is always quick to move. The staff are usually friendly and the portion sizes are always large. I always get chicken over rice and it's typically 2 meals worth of food for me. I always take my food to go, but there are plenty of tables for seating. Stopped by here and had a really good experience! I got the chicken over rice with a lot of toppings and everything tasted really good! You can get as many toppings as you want - I got the cucumber and tomato salad, lettuce, purple cabbage, and peppers and onions, along with the white sauce and red sauce. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Never coming here again. First of all the order taker hardly speaks any English. Asked what kind of chicken sandwich they have wether it's a grilled chicken or a fried chicken or a pre frozen patty. He said it's chicken. So we gave in and got it and it turned out to be one of those really bad pre frozen chicken patty and to top it all off it wasn't even fully cooked. It was raw inside. It is written that it opens 10 am, but I was there at 10:15 and he said they are not open yet even though everything was ready to go. What a guy that works for them. Will yelling at customers become the new norm here too now? I dropped by on Sunday 6th Feb, the food was great and service was quick. A week later they seems to be all over the place. New crew, Took almost an hour for Philly cheese steak, 2 chicken cheese steak and chicken over rice. Complete break down between the person taking the order and person cooking. After 1 hour only 3 out of 4 items show up after lot of confusion. There were folks who had ordered ahead of us who were still waiting for their partial orders.
