Came across this place by accident while doing some business in Vernon on this busy Friday morning. I originally want to have lunch at Yoshinoya Japanese Kitchen, but it was a little bit too crowed when I showed up, so I ended up walking across the parking lot to give them a try. The place itself is very small with several tables inside and some seating available on the outside patio. Given that I arrived at noon the place was pretty packed. I ordered the Gyro from the menu which was served quickly on a nice plate and silverware. The Gyro had plenty of veggies but no yogurt sauce but instead came with some green chili sauce on the side. There hardly was any meat on the wrap and I never before had such a mushy Gyro meat. You would expect the meat to be nice and crunchy but not here. I truly was disappointed since I spend over $11 for my meal and ended up leaving hungry. Verdict 3 Stars for cleanliness and friendly service. I'll most likely not be back. I love locally owned spots that have good food. And this spot, The Mediterranean Kitchen, delivers! (That's hard to find in Commerce) The food is fresh and healthy. I especially love the Chicken Thigh kabob and the Ground Beef kabob. The Eggplant dip (which is BabaGanoush) has a unique spicy kick that I love. I also really enjoy their salads. This spot is clean, delicious, delivers and is owned by a very sweet and hard working family. They have my regular business and are worth checking out if you're in the area. read more

First visit here, I ordered the chicken breast skewer plate. The food was average. Chicken was dry and rubbery. Rice was bland and the pita seemed to be mass produced wasn't made in house. Most disappointing thing was the meal did not come with hummus. That's crazy, what's the point of having Mediterranean food with no hummus. If you want great Mediterranean food you must try golden olive in Huntington Beach. Best ever!!!! read more

My job recently moved to this area so I was happy to see that a Mediterranean place was close by. I did a to-go order, I got a beef wrap. It was really good and everything was fresh. It is a little pricey...I paid around $15. I did asked for a small size of yogurt dip but I didn't think it would be that much more. So in total it was $15 for a wrap and a side of yogurt dip. Fries is an extra $2 if I'm not mistaken. I would go again because at the end of the day it was delicious. I would totally recommend this place. read more

Was a tad disappointed with the food here! The staff were nice and the place was very clean but the food was underwhelming. I'm toggling between a 2.5 and a 3! The food was fresh though. I ordered the salmon kabob plate ($13.95). The salmon was well-cooked, very soft and tender. I appreciated that it was not overcooked. It came with rice, cucumber/tomato salad, and pita. The pita was sort of dry...and the rest of the dish was super bland. This was a bigggg bummer. I tried adding salt but man, it just lacked flavor overall. The salad too. The parsley was a nice addition on the fish, but overall, combined with the rice and other components, it fell flat. Just a bit bland. More seasonings were needed for sure! read more

Got that Combo Plate $20 that came with rice, grilled tomato and jalapeno, salad, pita bread, and 3 different kabobs (chicken, kubideh, and beef). It was pretty good. The best meat was the chicken, it had a smokey taste to it. Kubideh (ground meat) was also very tasty. The beef was the least tasty, but still pretty good. Lots of meat for sure. My wife and I loves Mediterranean cuisine very much because everything is made fresh. We were surprise a Mediterranean restaurant in the city of Commerce. It's called the Mediterranean Kitchen it's in same shopping center like Rakken Tacos. The city of Commerce slow bring new restaurants in this working city. This is our first time at the restaurant and we were looking the menu on the wall and decided what to order my wife order the falafel wrap and I order the chicken kabobs. They brought us the food we say wow the food looks so good. I took some of the feta fries they very good they nice and crunchy and full of flavor. My wife enjoy her Falafel wrap but she told me it need more spice in falafel to make good and they to add more flavor in the garlic spread. I enjoy my chicken kabobs,the chicken have a marinated flavor that was so good I enjoy it including wife. The rice was really good. We will come back again. read more

I drive by this plaza quite often. I've been meaning to drop by for lunch sometime. Food: Ordered Beef Koobideh kabob. Lacked the strong salty flavor I'm use to. It had a sweet kick to it and very light salty flavor. Sides were pretty good. Service: Order at counter and have food brought to you. Ladies who took my order were pretty nice. The Mediterranean Kitchen was the perfect halfway point for lunch with a friend. I ordered the generously portioned chicken kabob plate. The chicken was deliciously flavored, the rice was accented by saffron, and the grilled tomatoes were not to be missed. The staff was friendly and attentive. Very delicious plate ! I always get double tomato because seasoning is just right, Im thinking it's boiled in chicken seasoning, but honestly I save it for last cause it's one of the best parts The meat is juicy but it depends who's cooking or if it's rush hour, I haven't kept track on the days. The cucumber salad is also delicious, it looks basic but my taste buds are satisfied. I just see this plate "healthy" because I eat more tomato, the rice is my favorite part of it all. I remember getting kabob here about 3 years ago and it was decent. Just made a huge coming back. Ordered the mixed/combo kabob plate. Super expensive. 21.99! That doesn't even include hummus which is 4.99 extra. All 3 meats tasted like shit! Chicken, beef, and lula. All bad. Not sure if it's the marinade they're using or what, but the meat really had a funky taste. Not dry, just weird. I had to dip each piece in the hummus to mask the taste. I went here with a business client as he was interested in Mediterranean cuisine and this was fairly close to his office. As you walk in, the aura of the place was pretty dingy and dark. You walk up to the front and pretty much have to look to the sidewall where all the menu options are posted for viewing. It wasn't that difficult but I almost wish the menu were to the front towards the register so I can also l actually be looking forward while talking to the person at the register taking my order. In terms of the food selection, it was your typical menu you would see at most Mediterranean restaurants. Chicken and beef kabobs, shawarma, tabouli, hummus, and the like. What I was really hoping for was a lamb kabob sandwich or platter of which they did not have. What they did have was a gyro sandwich and platter so that is what I ordered. Almost every dish comes either in a sandwich or a platter (rice, meats and veggies). I rated this place 3 stars because the food was nothing that stood out wowing me, the tables were not all that clean and the atmosphere was lacking so much that I really didn't feel like dining in. Next time if my client does have a craving, maybe we still may go back but just take the order to go and eat at some nearby park or something of the like. read more

Myself and a co worker just ordered this for lunch and we have previously purchased food from them but now the portion sizes are extremely small in comparison to the amount of rice and paid 42 plus dollars for our plates total please show me how this is 40+ dollars worth of food and they use to include hummus on the plate instead of these now raggedy vegetables. This is without a doubt the worst Mediterranean food me and my husband have ever had. The yogurt dip had a very strange tang to it that I am sure meant it was spoiled. I threw it out after the first spoonful but, two hours later I was in the bathroom throwing up. My stomach was upset for the rest of the day. The falafel's were overly salty and dry. Horrible! I also got the minestrone soup that they should have been ashamed to serve. I think it had been cooked on a stove for days and they just shoveled a spoon into it to serve the same soup until it was gone, maybe for a week read more

Sorry, not sorry for the single star rating. My colleagues and I ordered lunch delivered via a 3rd party. The reviews are very skewed and I thought everyone deserves a fair shot, so why not? I anticipated enjoying a chicken kabob plate, however I ate a mound of rice with a few underseasoned chicken pieces sprinkled on top. Where was the cinnamon, coriander and cumin bursts of flavor that I love? My rice entree was accompanied with a spoonful of chopped cucumber and tomato in a pool of tomato juice, garnished with a roasted tomato and serrano pepper. A half pita was also included, I usually enjoy pita with hummus which was not included. I am a 1st time customer (probably a last time as well), this appears to be the norm regardless if the order is placed via delivery or picked up? read more

wow. As soon as I entered the restaurant I knew I was in for a treat, I ordered my favorite food, the tri-tip shawrma wrap, and as soon as I saw my food I fell in love. You could see the meat cooked to perfection, hand wrapped be the best chefs I've ever met in my life, my mouth started watering as adrenaline flowed through my veins. I was like a cheetah about to eat a fallen gazelle, except the cheetah hadn't eaten in 3 days and was close to starvation. I grabbed my shawarma wrap in my left hand, drink in my right, and for the first time in my life since my girlfriend left me, I felt happy. Time froze as I took my first bite, it was a perfect movie scene that I wished would never end. I was tempted to swallow the whole thing but I knew I should take my time and savor every single bite, which proved hard to do because it felt so good in my mouth. The best feeling was when I swallowed, I felt like I was a new person, every worry I've had in my life had washed away and the thought of my girlfriend cheating on me with my best friend left my mind for the first time. *Read before you come here* Long story short: Came in when it wasn't busy, and ordered 2 simple dishes - no one was in the kitchen when my order was taken. 5 mins later, a kid comes in wearing AirPods and went into the kitchen. Walking back and forth on his phone I'm assuming until the front desk lady told him to start cooking. I confronted her about this, and all she did was make excuses + was rude. It took about 30 mins to get my food, while another customer came in at it took literally 5 mins. If there were a lot of people, I understand. But there was no one in there. They just had degen customer service and does not know how to run a business. They clearly didn't train the kid well. Also, the fact that the front desk lady was rude and made excuses was the part that triggered this review the most. So yea, if you're reading this lady - it's your fault. The food? did not taste like mediterranean. Average at BEST. I would avoid this place for bad customer service and fake Mediterranean food. There are WAY better places than this. When I went ahead and search this place on yelp due to one of my friends recommendations, I was a bit shocked at first seeing such nice plates and healthy food in the commerce area. While reading reviews I realized how people were hating on the rice, im going to give you some knowledge of rice. Rice taste does have affect on the overall rating but have you seen the rice they use. I have not seen any fast food even attempt to bring this rice out. The owner clearly knows the quality of his rice and in my opinion is doing a great job. Other factors to my five star rating is, the service they provide and the quick turn around time. They had a line out the door and line moved fast was in and out in less then 15 min. read more

I live a couple blocks from the plaza this restaurant is located in and since I've discovered this wonderful place out, I have been ordering for my whole entire family ! Their food is fresh and delicious, they have a wonderful atmosphere at the restaurant with very nice furniture but if youre too lazy to go out of the house you can go ahead and order over the phone and get it delivered to your front door. There is no delivery charge either which is kinda cool. Staff is extremely freindy and I would highly encourage anyone around the area to try this place out. You wont regret it. read more

Where do I even start. I had the best get-a-way from work. I walked into a very nice and modern restaurant. Very clean and they had the friendliest staff. I wasn't too familiar with the type of food but they went ahead and walked me through the whole menu. I went ahead and ordered the chicken kabob plate and god it was amazing. The plate came with rice, salad, grilled veggies and and of course the protein. It's very hard to find good food in the area since it's so commercialized but will definitely returning and would recommend to anyone. read more

Their chicken kabob is sooooo juicy and their hummus is highly recommended. I got the chicken wrap and loved how you can add feta to the wrap and a side of your choice for $2! The pricing is average and expected for what the prices are today and the quality they serve. Highly recommend this place for catering and dining in. Heard nothing but positive things about this place from my coworkers and decided to give it a try. I ordered the combo plate which comes with 3 skewers of meat including one of each type of meat; 1 chicken, 1 beef, and 1 beef koobideh along with the usual rice, salad, and the grilled tomato and pepper, and pita bread. If you'd like you can also replace the salad or tomato and pepper for hummus or any dip. This plate was very fulfilling and satisfying. This is an amazing new restaurant! Went in and had an order of the beef kabob... very tender, tasty, and fresh meat! Their rice is tasty as well and the plate had me full for hours. My husband had an order of the chicken kabob and he made me try some of his chicken and it was very good and very well-marinated with a unique taste to it. As a very picky person, I was highly surprised how satisfying the food at the restaurant was. I had the gyro wrap which was by far the best I have eaten. Every thing tasted fresh and well cooked. The chief surprised me by throwing together a special "secret fries" dish. He prepared fries with veggies, chicken, topped off with sauce and it tasted as amazing as it looked. The hummus was excellent and so were the kebabs which were my main interest. The kabob had well cooked and tasty meat. Had the food delivered. Had 2 chicken kabob plates and 2 beef kabob plates.The chicken kabob plate came with pieces of chicken alot of rice a veggie salad, a grilled tomato and jalapeno. I am a local in the area and didnt even know this place existed. They are new in town but have many years of experience and know what they are doing. First time here and the menu is very descriptive and states what each plate comes with, and you can substitute the sides for whatever you prefer such as hummus if you'd like.
