Mediterranean food is definitely one of my favorites so I'm excited that I found a spot close to my work that delivers! I ordered the feta fries, a drink and the falafel plate. The feta fries were amazing!!! Super yummy and filling. I would definitely order those again. The falafel plate was okay, I think I would want to try their pita wrap the next time with falafel to see if that would be a better option for me. Overall the food was fresh and tasty and I will he ordering again! read more

Came across this place by accident while doing some business in Vernon on this busy Friday morning. I originally want to have lunch at Yoshinoya Japanese Kitchen, but it was a little bit too crowed when I showed up, so I ended up walking across the parking lot to give them a try. The place itself is very small with several tables inside and some seating available on the outside patio. Given that I arrived at noon the place was pretty packed. I ordered the Gyro from the menu which was served quickly on a nice plate and silverware. The Gyro had plenty of veggies but no yogurt sauce but instead came with some green chili sauce on the side. There hardly was any meat on the wrap and I never before had such a mushy Gyro meat. You would expect the meat to be nice and crunchy but not here. I truly was disappointed since I spend over $11 for my meal and ended up leaving hungry. Verdict 3 Stars for cleanliness and friendly service. I'll most likely not be back. I love locally owned spots that have good food. And this spot, The Mediterranean Kitchen, delivers! (That's hard to find in Commerce) The food is fresh and healthy. I especially love the Chicken Thigh kabob and the Ground Beef kabob. The Eggplant dip (which is BabaGanoush) has a unique spicy kick that I love. I also really enjoy their salads. This spot is clean, delicious, delivers and is owned by a very sweet and hard working family. They have my regular business and are worth checking out if you're in the area. read more

First visit here, I ordered the chicken breast skewer plate. The food was average. Chicken was dry and rubbery. Rice was bland and the pita seemed to be mass produced wasn't made in house. Most disappointing thing was the meal did not come with hummus. That's crazy, what's the point of having Mediterranean food with no hummus. If you want great Mediterranean food you must try golden olive in Huntington Beach. Best ever!!!! read more

My job recently moved to this area so I was happy to see that a Mediterranean place was close by. I did a to-go order, I got a beef wrap. It was really good and everything was fresh. It is a little pricey...I paid around $15. I did asked for a small size of yogurt dip but I didn't think it would be that much more. So in total it was $15 for a wrap and a side of yogurt dip. Fries is an extra $2 if I'm not mistaken. I would go again because at the end of the day it was delicious. I would totally recommend this place. read more

Was a tad disappointed with the food here! The staff were nice and the place was very clean but the food was underwhelming. I'm toggling between a 2.5 and a 3! The food was fresh though. I ordered the salmon kabob plate ($13.95). The salmon was well-cooked, very soft and tender. I appreciated that it was not overcooked. It came with rice, cucumber/tomato salad, and pita. The pita was sort of dry...and the rest of the dish was super bland. This was a bigggg bummer. I tried adding salt but man, it just lacked flavor overall. The salad too. The parsley was a nice addition on the fish, but overall, combined with the rice and other components, it fell flat. Just a bit bland. More seasonings were needed for sure! read more

Got that Combo Plate $20 that came with rice, grilled tomato and jalapeno, salad, pita bread, and 3 different kabobs (chicken, kubideh, and beef). It was pretty good. The best meat was the chicken, it had a smokey taste to it. Kubideh (ground meat) was also very tasty. The beef was the least tasty, but still pretty good. Lots of meat for sure. I drive by this plaza quite often. I've been meaning to drop by for lunch sometime. Food: Ordered Beef Koobideh kabob. Lacked the strong salty flavor I'm use to. My wife and I loves Mediterranean cuisine very much because everything is made fresh. We were surprise a Mediterranean restaurant in the city of Commerce. It's called the Mediterranean Kitchen it's in same shopping center like Rakken Tacos. The city of Commerce slow bring new restaurants in this working city. This is our first time at the restaurant and we were looking the menu on the wall and decided what to order my wife order the falafel wrap and I order the chicken kabobs. They brought us the food we say wow the food looks so good. I took some of the feta fries they very good they nice and crunchy and full of flavor. My wife enjoy her Falafel wrap but she told me it need more spice in falafel to make good and they to add more flavor in the garlic spread. I enjoy my chicken kabobs,the chicken have a marinated flavor that was so good I enjoy it including wife. The rice was really good. We will come back again. read more

I remember getting kabob here about 3 years ago and it was decent. Just made a huge coming back. Ordered the mixed/combo kabob plate. Super expensive. 21.99! That doesn't even include hummus which is 4.99 extra. All 3 meats tasted like shit! Chicken, beef, and lula. All bad. Not sure if it's the marinade they're using or what, but the meat really had a funky taste. Not dry, just weird. I had to dip each piece in the hummus to mask the taste. Ugh I want my $30 back! read more

Very delicious plate ! I always get double tomato because seasoning is just right, Im thinking it's boiled in chicken seasoning, but honestly I save it for last cause it's one of the best parts The meat is juicy but it depends who's cooking or if it's rush hour, I haven't kept track on the days. The cucumber salad is also delicious, it looks basic but my taste buds are satisfied. I just see this plate "healthy" because I eat more tomato, the rice is my favorite part of it all. I went here with a business client as he was interested in Mediterranean cuisine and this was fairly close to his office. As you walk in, the aura of the place was pretty dingy and dark. You walk up to the front and pretty much have to look to the sidewall where all the menu options are posted for viewing. It wasn't that difficult but I almost wish the menu were to the front towards the register so I can also l actually be looking forward while talking to the person at the register taking my order. In terms of the food selection, it was your typical menu you would see at most Mediterranean restaurants. Chicken and beef kabobs, shawarma, tabouli, hummus, and the like. What I was really hoping for was a lamb kabob sandwich or platter of which they did not have. What they did have was a gyro sandwich and platter so that is what I ordered. Almost every dish comes either in a sandwich or a platter (rice, meats and veggies). I rated this place 3 stars because the food was nothing that stood out wowing me, the tables were not all that clean and the atmosphere was lacking so much that I really didn't feel like dining in. Next time if my client does have a craving, maybe we still may go back but just take the order to go and eat at some nearby park or something of the like. read more

Myself and a co worker just ordered this for lunch and we have previously purchased food from them but now the portion sizes are extremely small in comparison to the amount of rice and paid 42 plus dollars for our plates total please show me how this is 40+ dollars worth of food and they use to include hummus on the plate instead of these now raggedy vegetables. Pissed and still hungry. Lost a long standing customer. read more

This is without a doubt the worst Mediterranean food me and my husband have ever had. The yogurt dip had a very strange tang to it that I am sure meant it was spoiled. I threw it out after the first spoonful but, two hours later I was in the bathroom throwing up. My stomach was upset for the rest of the day. The falafel's were overly salty and dry. Horrible! I also got the minestrone soup that they should have been ashamed to serve. I think it had been cooked on a stove for days and they just shoveled a spoon into it to serve the same soup until it was gone, maybe for a week read more

Sorry, not sorry for the single star rating. My colleagues and I ordered lunch delivered via a 3rd party. The reviews are very skewed and I thought everyone deserves a fair shot, so why not? I anticipated enjoying a chicken kabob plate, however I ate a mound of rice with a few underseasoned chicken pieces sprinkled on top. Where was the cinnamon, coriander and cumin bursts of flavor that I love? My rice entree was accompanied with a spoonful of chopped cucumber and tomato in a pool of tomato juice, garnished with a roasted tomato and serrano pepper. A half pita was also included, I usually enjoy pita with hummus which was not included. I am a 1st time customer (probably a last time as well), this appears to be the norm regardless if the order is placed via delivery or picked up? read more

The combo plate came with bulgur rice which reminded me of oatmeal but in rice form, juicy grilled tomato and pepper, tender, meaty and perfectly cooked filet cubes and juicy and savory chicken thigh chunks with some Sweet crunchy onions. I usually go all in and order the tabbouleh, babaganoush, a pound of lula kebab, and shish kebab. Honestly, if you're with 2+ people (or even just really hungry), ordering by the pound with sides is way better value than getting individual plates. You get more variety and it just feels like the right way to eat here. Every now and then I'll switch it up and get the liver plate -- it comes with tons of greens and onions, and when you wrap everything in their fresh pita, it's incredible. Not an everyday order, but when you're in the mood for it, it hits. If you dine in, the indoor decor is super nice and really gives that authentic Mediterranean vibe. They also play a lot of 90s music, which somehow fits perfectly and adds to the whole experience. I've dined in plenty of times and the service is always solid -- staff is friendly and attentive. Just a heads up, food can take a little longer sometimes, but that's because they're always busy and everything is made fresh, so it's worth the wait. I had to ask a busser for it because the server walked past our table multiple times, clearly saw us, and chose to ignore us. The food runner was also rude, he dropped the plates on the table without saying a single word. Throughout the entire meal, no one checked on us. No "How is everything?" No "Do you need anything?" Nothing at all. Meanwhile, we noticed that nearby tables were being greeted, checked on, and treated kindly. When we asked for the check, the server literally threw it on the table without saying a word. The experience was so bad that we decided not to leave a tip; Something we never do, especially since we truly value good service and I personally work in the restaurant industry. I don't know if the treatment had anything to do with how we looked or how we were dressed, but I've never felt so ignored and uncomfortable in a restaurant before. The food may be fine, but the service completely ruins the experience. I would not return or recommend this place.

You order at the counter. I usually end up getting one of the breakfast meals - and all of them have managed to be both flavorful and fresh - in many ways the opposite of the typical American breakfast. The "bowl of foul", which apparently rhymes if you pronounce foul the Armenian way, is something they advertise a lot on their menu - and for good reason. It's actually one of the least foul breakfasts I've ever had in my life. It's a delicious flavorful bean dip with generous breads on the side to eat with it - as well as a platter of fresh vegetables. Still my favorite food to get here. Also decent was their fatteh, which is cream, yogurt, chickpeas, and a lot of assorted nuts, all dolloped over fried pita bread. Also very good, but I'm just honestly not a huge fan of nuts. It also comes with the vegetable platter which is the perfect combo with the creamy chickpea thing. The food usually takes 10-15 minutes to come out, but that's because they're clearly preparing everything fresh in the back (you can kind of see them do this.) They also have a fountain machine, which is a huge plus to ice addicts like me. Everything is casual, but also very clean and neat. Honestly, it's also a very nice cafe to relax in, do work, talk with friends, etc. etc. This is very much close to the "optimal" place to me when it comes to taking friends out somewhere to reconnect. Anyways, this place is highly recommended for both a wonderful dine-in and dine-out experience. I try to stop by it as often as possible for their breakfast to the point where I can count on my fingers the amount of times I've had breakfast at a place that WASN'T the Old Sassoon Bakery. Honestly, this place stands as a towering achievement of mastering everything that "new hip trendy" food often isn't. It's super affordable, generous portions, super clean, fast service (but you can stay around as long as you want), and the main draw is just the delicious, flavorful, authentic food that very much lives up to all of the hype and more.
