3 1/2 stars. I've been there 3 times now. It's a perfect spot for lunch or dinner as im leaving the spa next door in the hotel (Meridian Spa, a personal favorite place to get pampered). The soups I've tried have been good. The drinks as well. I believe we ordered Moscow miles last time, which we enjoyed. The food was actually pretty good. My girlfriend had a steak, which was perfectly cooked to her liking. I ordered the Korean bbq runs which were very good!! Flavorful and tender with perfectly grilled veggies underneath. I would come back for this dish alone. Service was good. It was a bit slow but not the waiter's fault. We had a cheesecake for dessert that was good. Came here for dinner one night during my stay at the Crowne. Service started out a bit slow, but once we ordered everything was great. Food was surprisingly great. Everything we ordered was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. The shrimp pasta I ordered was a bit spicy for me (more than I can usually handle) but it was still very good and I was able to finish it. I had the burger with thick bacon and bourbon bbq and grilled onions. It was a really fat patty that was well cooked. The bun was very soggy so I may not suggest this particular burger dish as a soggy bun takes away from the experience. If you enjoy tomatoes, they certainly give you more than enough... even when you request to leave them off. There wasn't anything special about this burger but it was good. The fries were a tad over crisped and lacked seasoning salt/pepper of any sort. The portion was more than filling however. The service was fine as it was only three of us dining. The meal costs about $17 so choose wisely if it's worth it for you. I didn't have a choice as I didn't have a car to go anywhere else haha BUT I'm glad I chose to sample this eatery inside the hotel. read more

I have absolutely no idea why it turned out like that, but I was with a very important person, so I held back my complaint. Came here for dinner on a Saturday night. Food and service was great. They give you complimentary mini waffles instead of bread. It's served with a honey apple butter sauce that is amazing. I had a burger which I ordered medium. It was a little pinker than I like but still perfect. My daughter had pesto pasta and she liked her entree. Drove all the way to Commerce fr Long Beach to use a Living Social voucher only to be disappointed and told by the waiter that they were not honoring it (I have since contacted Living Social for a refund). I called a few hours prior to make reservations as that is what the voucher instructed, and I mentioned the voucher to the employee who answered the phone and he did not mention anything about not being able to use it (which is the reason why I rated this place only 1 star). If they knew they were not accepting the vouchers they could have at least put up signage indicating so. read more

How is it possible this is in the area's top 10? It's at the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza and is a fine reminder of why I don't like to dine at hotel restaurants. Usually breakfast is safe but not here. I had a burger on my first nights stay that was served to me cold and raw. They replaced it with another that was not "Moo..ing" but the whole process took over an hour. The next morning breakfast was so-so until I found a hair (not mine) mixed in with the potatoes. This morning breakfast I encountered rather bad tasting breakfast sausage. Staff is on the slow side but friendly. Overall there are too few for the size of the Bistro. I've been staying at the IHG group properties for over 35 years, 10000+ nights and this is the worst in hotel restaurant I've ever patronized associated with this chain. read more

I can only speak on the dessert. I had the chocolate lava cake. It was room temperature when it arrived. There was no "lava" in this lava cake and it still had the packaging paper connected to the bottom of the cake. It was served on an empty plate with no decoration. Service is lackluster and spotty. Had the rib eye $26. Pretty dry. Had to ask for au jus or something and got pesto sauce. Asked for bread or dinner roll and was offered complimentary mini waffles. Alcohol menu is limited to beers and wine. You could to the bar and get your own but they won't. Ambience is tranquil and peaceful - vintage Xmas music playing in the background. Food tasted ok but longed for a good steak and this was not it. If you're looking for an experience, or even a nice dinner, more than just satiating/quenching your hunger, this is not the place. I support local businesses and hope this place improves their service and responsiveness. For the menu prices, there is plenty of room for improvement. read more

EH... My Co Worker and I went because he had a group-on and i have worked down the street from the casino for over a year and grown up seeing it and never been and wanted to go. Well the ambiance reminds me of an off strip casino in Vegas ( at one time looked nice but has done nothing to modernize the decor for 30 years) .WE arrived at 11:45 and we were the only ones there. by the time we left there was one other customer. I had a burger, it was a very good burger, probably a 4 star burger bordering 5 stars but it was 12 bucks and the fries were cold. But we did not get our food for nearly 30 minutes, so it seems like they made the fries and then the burger. So the fires got cold waiting for the burger. Our servers were very nice but seemed inexperienced. Overall if you are gambling there than this may be a decent place to eat. But I would not go out of my way for it. read more

Came here on during lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The place is new and looks clean. I was really disappointed at this restaurant. I ordered the three california style mini tacos (2 chicken and 1 beef) & the bistro bleu cheese sliders. It took about 35-40 minutes for these items to come out. With the restaurant pretty much empty, I questioned myself what took so long? When the food finally came, I was told they had ran out of the slider buns and had replaced it with the sandwich type bread. The sandwich bread was dry and the "slider" was tasteless. The tacos tasted horrible. The meat and tortilla was dry. No flavor what so ever. Kitchen probably needs to change their menu cause the items above tasted bland. Also need work on getting the items out quicker, especially when they were not entrees. read more

Not much to eat in this part of town. We sought this place out traveling on business about 8pm when almost everything else was closed. Had to park in the boonies because the casino was packed. Lots of people just hanging around the parking which didnt make me feel good about leaving my car. To get in we had to walk past legions of smokers - very unpleasant. I really enjoyed eating at this spot. I tried the groupon deal, well worth it. I got rosemary chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies. ..the veggies werent great but the chicken was big enough and the mashed potato was amazing. As we were waiting for the food they brought house made waffles with apple mustard sauce....sooooo good. The sauce was delicious and we saved it to use it on our dessert which was delicious.
