Mixed reviews had me thinking twice but I went anyways. Love the classic diner style and decor. Busy place offering classic American cuisine. We waited about 20 minutes. The service was hit or miss and a little chaotic. They forgot a couple of our items. I tried their country fried steak. Small but flavorful so I'll take that. My wife loved her corned beef hash. We were in the area for shopping and decided to grab some food at Ozzie's. We came in on November 30th, around 2pm and were able to grab a both and order. I ordered the Hot Link breakfast with scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and sourdough toast. It was very good and tasty, great meal. After a really long day of traveling, we ended up here at Ozzies Diner. What a gem this place is. The waitress was wonderful. The food was also very good and had some good portions for the price. They serve wonderful comfort food, just like you would get in any great diner. They also have a full bar. The place is so cute and comfortable. There is a counter and great booths. It is spotless inside and out. There is not a bad meal to be had there. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their breakfast fare is great. Their pancakes are fluffy and wonderful. Their hash browns are divine. You have to try their biscuits and gravy. Their waffles are super tasty. We especially love their burgers. They are cooked to order just the way you might want them. Their fries are great and they have a chili that is wonderful. The mac and cheese is so very good. They can make a great salad. You will love their beefeater sandwich. I had Ozzie's on my list. I was in the area at the right time for lunch and stopped by. The restaurant has been in business sense 1957 . It does also have a bar in the back. The restaurant has that old dinner look to it . It was clean and looks great. I ordered the Ozzie club with Cole slaw. They do have many choices on the menu. The food came out and it all looked delicious. I enjoy the the Cole slaw. It had a sweet flavor and a little bit of vinegar flavor too. The sandwich is on lightly toasted bread with cranberry sauce. Stopped in for my first time this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised. I am working down a list of all diners in LA and this being a well-known one on the list. Located in Commerce it's not my favorite area of town, but the food quality is worth the visit. They have a large parking lot with free parking and all of the staff that we encountered were very polite and prompt. Inside is quite large and half of it is a sports bar with big screen TVs and a full service bar. They did a good job on the design inside and would definitely be somewhere I'd want to check out in a future visit. They don't have outdoor seating but plenty of indoor options. They have a huge menu filled with all sorts of classics and they really market their steaks and meat, especially. For my breakfast, I chose the Hamburger Steak & Eggs and thought it was all around great. The patty was extra flavorful and I opted for a side biscuit with gravy, which was a great choice because it was very fluffy and very good. Pricing is extremely fair and the portion sizes are large. I would definitely recommend to any fan of diners and especially anyone in or visiting this part of LA. read more

We came across Ozzie's quite by accident driving down Telegraph Road to get around a major accident on I-5. I parked in the rear, walked in through the back door ... and stepped into a 1950s tavern. Authentic, retro not reproduction. The woman behind the bar was friendly, and service was great. I didn't look at the front dining room, but the bar area had heavy wood pillars and paneling, booths with wood tables and green leather upholstery (? vinyl or leather). The menu looks very good. This visit I had the breakfast croissant with sausage and egg and crispy hash brown potatoes. My friend had the Ozzie special which is a steak two eggs hash browns and toast. The eggs were as ordered his steak was cooked perfectly good flavor and tender. The croissant was fresh and flaky. Service was attentive, and friendly. The restaurant is decided in two the front has large windows booths and a counter. It was updated in the 80s to a 50s throwback look with pink neon and white Formica. The bar is dark with natural woods a small dance floor. In the evening it has its own entry The parking lot has space for both cars and big rig trucks. Restrooms are extremely small in the front while not huge the restrooms in the bar are less claustrophobic. read more

The ambience of this place is very pleasant. Nice diner feel with plenty of space and plenty of tables. Large restaurant area and an equally large bar/lounge area. The food was good, tasty and well made. Prices are high, a bit too high for the diner atmosphere. Service is the pits! No amount of "have a nice day-ing" will compensate for how slow these people are. The place was not busy at all, yet they took FOREVER to do everything. We stood at the "wait to be seated" sign way too long. We came close to turning and leaving but my curiosity was peaked. The entire time we stood there the cook peeked at us through the window to the kitchen. We watched as he lined up plates to be taken to tables, these plates were left waiting for the incredibly sluggish serving staff. We were finally told to sit anywhere (what was the purpose of the sign?) We were presented with menus but were again put on hold before someone finally came to take our order. The time from order point to receiving food wasn't so bad, actually the shortest time of all. Nice people, decent food, but terrible service. Sorry but we won't be back. read more
