I heard about this place a couple months back but I am never in the area to stop by and give it a try . And boy was I amazed by not only the delicious food but the customer service was like nothing I have ever experienced in my life . The lady That took my order pretty sure she runs the place , was so pleasant welcoming and she put together a meal for me I will never forget . Double patty melt garlic fries and a strawberry lemonade . Absolutely amazing . I would recommend this burger spot to anyone . Thanks for such a great experience 10/10. read more

First time customer and I'm on the fence about back. I was missing an order of French fries to go along with the bacon burger I ordered, which sucked but I know mistakes happen. I proceeded to eat the burger which was completely soaked with bbq sauce on the bottom bun which gave it just a wet and mushy consistency. On top of that, I asked for well done and got a cool medium rare in the middle of my burger. Not okay. I couldn't eat the hamburger because I can't consume under cooked beef and it was undercooked in the middle of the burger. Icing on the cake for my order was the fact that the amount or shall I say little amount of fries that came in that little container cost $3.99. That's just ridiculous. I'm hoping an employee just didn't fill them up all the way because if that is the way you serve them shame on you. I've heard great things about this place, even the president is a fan. However, you guys completely dropped the ball on my order today which sucks because that is the first impression of your establishment for me. Doesn't bode well with me. I will say that the BBQ sauce was on point though, best bbq sauce I've had in a long time! Whomever packed up this to order needs to pay attention to detail and also make sure everything is in the bag before sending it out. To go orders only get one shot at being correct, you should want it right every single time! If you put something in the bag, mark it off, cross it out, something. Do a double check. If one double check had been done with my order my review would have been more pleasant and positive. read more

I do indeed love it here! I came in today and ordered a specialized patty melt and forgot to ask for no onions. I tried to pay for a new one just how I like it but deandre insisted he remake the sandwich free of charge. He was super professional and accommodating and it's service like that you don't see everyday. The energy in the building is infectious. This is definitely my new go to! read more

Terrible experiences with one redeeming quality. Ordered the combo of "naked fries," "patty burger," and "mint and chocolate chip milkshake" for a little over $17. Ordered at 11:41 with no line, my food came around 11:50, but the milkshake didn't come until 12:10 so be warned. The patty wasn't thoroughly cooked and was red in most parts. The cheese they used seem be leftover as even melted it was hard. The fries were nothing special, but then again it's hard to screw up fries. My partner ordered the trio mac n cheese which tasted perfectly like reheated Hamburger Helper mac n cheese. The atmosphere was nice, no complaints there. The staff was friendly enough and courteous but not enough to make up for the lack of quality. For beverages they have craft soda, milkshakes, and can soda/ etc. The craft soda is tasteless which means it doesn't at all distract from the lack of flavor in their food. read more

If you like gut-rot and long waits for your food, this place is for you! I can here one evening with a friend, and it wasn't busy at all. 'Great!' we though, since we were on a little bit of a time limit. However, the service was incredibly slow, and my friend had to send something back because the lettuce was all brown and wilted. They responded well to that, and actually gave her her food for free, which I must say is really great customer service. I just wasn't impressed with the food at all, and I felt really crappy after eating it. I'll try anything once, but I don't be trying The Melt twice. read more

I visited on Friday, Feb 12, 2021 when I was coming through La Jolla on a tight schedule and The Melt exceeded my expectations on four levels: 1. I needed a place to pick up lunch at 10:45 am which limited my options. The Melt was open earlier than most places, I found a parking spot and wide open doors! Huzzah! 2. I was greeted by Logan who was very friendly and very helpful! Thank you, Logan!!! 3. Logan took my order and the kitchen got to work. The food was ready in a very timely manner. Huzzah, again! 4. I grabbed some extra napkins, said thank you, and got back to my car to get going on my tight schedule, where I was able to enjoy a very tasty Italian Job sandwich. apart from the food being f-ing amazing (literally melts in your mouth), they by far have the best customer service I've ever seen. my order got accidentally mixed up through uber eats but when I called, a super sweet guy upgraded my order and sent it over to me with a small shake I ordered. I ordered delivery through GrubHub so I won't blame you that the food was cold. One of the burgers was ordered as a lettuce wrap. It wasn't wrapped in lettuce, but rather put between way too many lettuce leaves which is really hard to eat. If you are going to offer a lettuce wrapped burger, please actually wrap it in lettuce and use iceberg like all the other restaurants. read more

Saw the melt as I was leaving Sprinkles cupcakes and the food on guest's trays got my mouth watering. I carried on with my afternoon and literally on the way home turned around because I couldn't stop thinking about the grilled cheese I saw. Unfortunately it didn't meet my expectations but it was still good. Wish they had sourdough bread for the grilled cheese. It was good but it just wasn't great. Ultimately not worth the turn around. This spot is right next to the sprinkles. I got the healthcare meal and tried this place for the first time. The melt burger is my favorite. It's a simple burger with cheese. The have really good season fries that I have continued to get when I go there. The craft soda here is great. Not too sweet but has good flavor and the right amount of sweet. The sandwich I got was really greasy. The bread was smashed super thin, almost wasn't bread any more. Just really expected more from this place. I had a hard time ordering because i felt like ive seen all the items on this menu at every other restaurant in the area. I waited forever for my food and when it finally came my fries were cold. Sheer disappointment. If I wanted subpar, low quality ingredients and absolutely zero creativity on the menu I would just go to McDonald's, at least I won't be left waiting forever read more

Cleared room with a good belch and soldiered on. My love had the melt burger, she reports that it was ok but greasy and the meat a bit too pink.
