I know people love this place. I've tried over the years and gone to different locations. I'm just not a fan and probably never will be. That being said my Bestie loves it here. It's her happy place. We were doing some pre-wedding shopping at Nordstrom Rack and all met up here for dinner and drinks. I did not order any anything to eat, but I did see a ceramic bathtub cocktail reminiscent of bobby Mcgee's Old bathtub/toilet drinks. This really excited me my mom threw my bathtub away. The bathtub that every Barbie doll took a bath in when I was a kid. Before getting way too excited I realize that this might be an acrylic or plastic tub. I asked the server and they told me it was ceramic my excitement level rose again. Then I asked do I have to buy the sugary glow cube rubber, ducky beverage or can I swap it out for another beverage. The news was even better. I didn't need to buy the beverage at all. I could buy the bathtub for 10 bucks. So yes, I ordered the bathtub and I also ordered a margarita on the side I managed to swipe a bite of my husband's food. What more do I need? This is a Happy Hour review for BJ's. Recommendation: YES ! I was seeking a margarita and some HH food, and BJ's did it for me. My order of a Happy Hour Brewhouse Margarita ($6) arrived in a large simple glass, salted rim, too much ice, a slice of lime and orange, and some margarita mix, which was a bit light on alcoholic content. I found to be just right, all things considered. My solid food order was Happy Hour Chips & Dips ($4) which was a large tray supporting containers of good guacamole and tasty salsa, accompanied by a generous amount of fresh, warm corn chips. We were seated by Hanna and the seat was still wet. My wife asked if she can wipe it down and she stated that it will still look like that. That comment ruined our evening. We came on a Thursday night, and there were hardly any people, so we had no trouble finding parking or getting seated. However, we came back on a Tuesday, and it was a completely different experience. The parking lot was packed, and we ended up waiting about 30 minutes for a table. If you're visiting on another weekday, though, you likely won't have much of a wait. The main reason my boyfriend and I came was for their $13 Pizookie Meal Deal, which is such an amazing value. It includes an entrée of your choice and a mini Pizookie, making it perfect if you're craving both dinner and dessert. I ordered the Double Smash Burger with fries and upgraded my dessert to the S'mores Pizookie. Oh my gosh, the S'mores Pizookie was one of the best desserts I've ever had. It was cooked to perfection, perfectly gooey, sweet, and absolutely delicious. I loved it so much that I came back again just for it. It's honestly something I've been dreaming about ever since. The Double Smash Burger was also really good, with fresh, crispy fries on the side. My boyfriend ordered the chicken sandwich, and I actually thought it was even juicier and more flavorful than my burger. That being said, I still really enjoyed my meal and would happily order it again. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere with plenty of indoor seating, and they also offer outdoor seating if you prefer eating outside. 06.14.2026 Sunday Went here to celebrate my daughter's post college graduation ceremony. Party of 20+. We made reservations a month in advance for 430-5pm time frame. BJ's kept my reservation. As we arrived we were greeted by the host and immediately sat us down. My party ordered drinks and appetizers. All were being delivered as other people were arriving and ordering. I was happy about our waiter/waitress taking the initiative to handle orders. I wish I knew their names, they were doing a fantastic job! Appetizers, main entrees, pizza, and beverages were all arriving promptly. The quality of food was fantastic. All was delicious. The ambiance was great. We sat at the outdoor patio area. It was a hot day, by 5pm we were feeling the ocean breeze. It was not packed as I expected which came to a big surprise. That made the vibe even better. Clean restrooms is a plus. Plenty of parking, but all is pending on the day of time. We happen to get lucky with available parking. Since it is close to UCSD, this is definitely a spot to host any event. Stopped for a quick or what we thought was going to be lunch. We were greeted right away but the food took such a long time to come out. We asked for some ketchup which never arrived until we were almost done with our meal. They had one server for a lunch rush and the restaurant was not full so I'm not sure if it was a delay in service or the kitchen. We were never asked if we wanted another soup or salad for the lunch meal we had. Other customers were getting irritated and were asking to close out their bill and cancel their dessert orders. I have been wanting to try this place for a while, and I recently got the opportunity to go with a group of people! I tried the lucky ducky cocktail and the Korean sweet & spicy chicken sandwich. The cocktail came in a fun, bathtub-shaped container, filled with a plastic duck and decorative ice cubes that lit up. It tasted sweet with a hint of coconut after each sip, and I loved the display, but I felt that it was a bit pricey. We came here for an office lunch with a fairly large group of about 10 people and were seated on the outdoor patio. Unfortunately, the service was pretty slow from the start. It took quite a while for someone to come take our orders, and we waited even longer just to get water for the table. As a vegetarian, I found the menu pretty limited when it came to main dishes. I ended up ordering the Protein Bowl without any meat. Nothing on the plate was warm, and several of the ingredients, especially the corn and beans, tasted like they came straight from a can. Ordered 11 items through the BJ's app the night before for an 11:45 AM pickup the next day, Tuesday, September 22. Plenty of lead time. This wasn't a rush order. I showed up at 11:39A, early. Just wanted them to know I was there and ready to take the food as soon as it was ready. Was told it would be another 10 minutes. Came back at 11:52, still nothing. The hostesses were doing their best and kept checking for me, that's not on them. What's on the restaurant is that a small pickup order placed with over 14 hours notice somehow wasn't ready 20 minutes past the pickup time. The guy who turned out to be the executive manager (and a shareholder, per his business card) walked past me carrying soda bottles, asked if I needed help, said he'd check, and vanished. Never came back. I had to ask a hostess to physically go get him from his office. Food finally showed up at 12:05, 20 minutes late. Two orders of fries had spilled loose into the takeout bag instead of staying in their containers. I had a meeting starting at noon half a mile away and now I was walking in late holding a bag of soggy fries. When the manager finally reappeared, I asked what happened in the kitchen. He wouldn't answer. Just said they were understaffed. I asked if he ran the place. He said yes. A Tuesday lunch with one guy at the bar and maybe six other people in the whole restaurant, and they still couldn't execute an 11-item pickup order on time. If you're a shareholder and you can't staff your own restaurant to handle a slow Tuesday, you don't get to shrug and blame "understaffed" like it's weather. He asked what he could do to "make it right". I said that he couldn't make it right because getting it to me on time was what could have made it right. 20 years in La Jolla, used this location for convenience a handful of times. Never again. This time I got the cookie butter, dubai chocolate, and strawberry shortcake pizookies. All of them were amazing, I couldn't pick a favorite. BJ's is always open late and we came here just for that since we arrived in LaJolla late in the evening and was hungry. We also have this in the Bay Area and it's pretty slow service though. This place is a little faster service. Food is good. Good for groups or just to hang out at the bar to watch sports. We shared their BJ's personal pizza and new sampler platter. The sampler had bbq tri-tip sliders, mozzarella sticks, chicken wings and spinach queso dip. Everything was good but I really liked their pizza and chicken wings the best. My group and I had a wonderful experience at this BJ's location a few nights ago! The food was wonderful, as it is at most locations. The atmosphere is typically with you would expect from this chain, although the bathrooms were specifically well kept and had a nice cool ambience to them that I particularly like with restrooms; when the lights are too bright, and when the vibe is off in the restroom, that's something I take note of, and this was the opposite in all the best ways. What really sit out was the service: our server, Jasmine, did a phenomenal job. She was extremely friendly, made excellent suggestions, and she earned compliments and appreciation from the entire table. I want to make sure that she gets the recognition that she has more than earned. In short, we all had a great time and we would be down to visit this location again. read more

The pizookie is just a brownie with some pistachio spread and knafeh. However I feel like I was kinda underwhelmed because there wasn't enough pistachio and I felt like I was just eating a brownie with knafeh. Monkey bread pizookie (8.7/10): Wow, the first couple of bites I didn't care for this but the more I ate, the more hooked I got. My husband and I came in from out-of-town Saturday evening, and wanted to come here for dinner. We knew it would probably be a bit of a wait given the world cup showing, but when we arrived, the hostess quoted us 10-15 minutes. 30 minutes later, we checked to see where we were only for the hostess to say that reservations were now coming in and they wouldn't be able to seat us for "a really long time". When we asked about how much longer, she said she couldn't tell and that it would "probably be really long." She never asked if I wanted more of anything. When it came to dessert, I had to remind her that mine came with a pizookie.
