In 1996, I was making $4.75/hour California minimum wage. In 2026, its now $17, or even $20 for fast food workings. The fresh, hot, crispy, and toasted sandwiches are always a "Delite"! Prices have increased over the years, but not offensively. My recent Assorted Delite "half" sandwich was $11.50 but still as big and ginormous as I last remembered and plenty of food for one big person like myself. The fresh rolls is toasted perfectly, not burnt, the inner white bread stays fluffy and doughy. There is enough ham, pastrami, and salami proteins to keep you satisfied, and just the right amount lettuce, tomato, and onion. The ingredients are nothing exotic, but somehow this magical delicious combination can't seem to be replicated anywhere else in the world except humble, dull, sleepy Novato California. Why? $11.50 might be seem pricy...but in 1996, I was making $4.75/hour California minimum wage. In 2026, its now $17, or even $20 for fast food workings. 11.50/17 = .67 $4.75 X .67 = $3.18 would be the 1996 inflation adjusted price. I would've found that a fair price back then, and today.

I enjoyed the turkey one, the meatball one, and the cheesesteak one (I order that one too many times) If your sandwich isn't toasted, it's a really different experience. Get it toasted. Trust. The portions are huge. Two people can eat a full size and be pretty content if you aren't a big eater Straightforward sandwiches, fair price, nice small business, what more can you want? OMG there was this crazy post on Reddit about an "overpriced" sandwich shop in Marin that pretty much expedited their closure. That's sad. I love small businesses. Get your sandwich here and not that five dollar foot long corporate ripoff or overpriced places. It works. I like what works.

This is a counter service place and the line can sometimes can take a lot during busy days. They have a lot of great options here for food and a good size kids menu! My wife and I opted for salads on this visit. The cost feels a bit high, but the salads are huge and feel well worth the cost. I had the Thai Chicken salad. I love the dressing on the salad and the crunch from the peanuts and crispy wontons is so good! The chili lime chicken has a nice tangy flavor and the veggies all give a nice, herby flavor. My wife had the Tostada salad, which has a delicious, smoky and sweet flavored dressing. My daughter had their chicken tenders and fries, which she enjoyed. This is a great place for larger groups, and its location on Grant Ave is brings a lot of excitement to this downtown Novato neighborhood.

When I picked up the sandwiches, they were leaking through the bag. Correction. Mine was leaking through the bag. The staff member put it in a plastic bag. I took it home, opened up the wrap and it was completely soaked in oil. Through the paper. The sandwich roll was covered in it. Picking it up and eating it was a challenge because it was so oily. There was balsamic vinegar on it as well. I could have eaten it and pushed aside the mistake if it wasn't such a mess. My husband had the hot salami and it didn't have oil on the bun at all. Weird. It won't keep me from coming again, but I will definitely have them repeat "no oil" twice.

Chunks of tender and crispy potatos with and chunks of corned beef..topped with sautéed red peppers and onions. I loved the chunkines...I want to be able to bite into the hunks of unshredded beef and potatoes. Roasted Brussels Sprouts $16.00. This is a winner!! The Sprouts are over roasted on a iron skillet. You can taste a bit of crispy char. There are soft caramelized onions and real bacon bits added. All is tossed with balsamic vinegar. And its good vinegar... real good balance of sweetness and tart... then you bite into a bacon bit...now its sweet, tart and salty...so wrong in a really good way. 1 order of Ruben Rolls $10.
