Make sure to get something with a tomato soup. I was also pretty happy with the milkshake. It was filled all the way up into the domed lid of the cup. Love to see that. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you're in the area.

Food was tasty! Shake is thick and creamy. I don't know why I thought the green specs on the fries was seaweed so I got excited but when we got them it turned out to be parsley which was okay but I was slightly disappointed was looking forward to tasting seaweed fries

We're going five stars for the patties and fries. My oldest son is a fan of five guys and in & out, so we haven't tried this spot even though we walk by it almost weekly. We decided to give it a shot after a late soccer practice -- they are open very late! My son got a double smashed and I went with the BBQ & bacon. The quality of the meat was definitely noticeable. A good char, juicy inside, and lots of flavor. I prefer a medium rare but most of these places cook their burgers to medium or medium well and you can't adjust. The garlic fries were My son thought they give five guys (his favorite fry in town, after a thorough research project) a run for their money and surpass with the garlic. There is plenty of indoor seating and a few tables outside. The service was professional. Not as friendly as some places, but definitely appreciated.

All around pretty clean execution on a gorgeously juicy burger. Painless ordering process with plenty of peeps up front, online orders, or touchscreen ordering. Staff even brought the whole thing out for you if you dine in, so pretty on top of things for what's basically fast-food. MickyDs eat your heart out, this is serious competition. The burger can get a tad messy, but it is so decadently constructed all is forgiven. Just be ready for that before you start though, so napkins at hand and all. A single is definitely enough for most peeps, with a double burger for the extra hungry.

Ordered our food to go. Got the double mushroom burger added an extra egg and tomatoes, it was big and delicious just needed some ketchup, . It comes with a side of a large pickle, you take a bite of your burger and then a bite of your pickle. The next order was the mac & cheese with bacon and chicken. The portion size is big and worth the money. It was really good.

Didn't expect service at all instead what a great service, easy to order whether you want to self serve or at the cashier. The place is well lit and clean and service was good. We ordered garlic fries, cheese with bacon, grill chicken with mushrooms, and mushroom melt burgers, all were grilled with garlic flakes, melted cheese, added fresh spinach, not your typical lettuces and tomatoes. Milk shakes were freshly made. Wait, did I mention great service? The cashier went around and ask everyone inside if their burgers were made ok, if we needed anything else or anything missing, we got the # buzzer to go get our food instead he helped my son to bring our food to the table. The only thing my wife didn't like was both burgers and fries were a bit salty which for guys that's a plus!! Great to go with a beer! Cheers!

I'm not a huge burger person, but occasionally I do crave one, and the other day, this place hit the spot! I think this was great for a line order burger restaurant. I ordered the Spicy Mission Meltburger and my boyfriend ordered the BBQ Bacon Meltburger. These were large, juicy patties that covered the whole area of the bun without being so big that it's difficult to actually eat the burger. I enjoyed the Spicy Mission combination with pepper jack, jalapeños, avocado and spicy sauce, as it had a kick but was well balanced overall. We also ordered sweet potato fries, which were just the right level of crispy and soft. Will definitely come back to try a melt classic or crispy chicken sandwich, as well as some mac n cheese!

I had the pleasure of interacting with Laura. She was unbelievably sweet and helpful with my indecision decisions about my meal. I ended up getting the steak melt, it's so delicious. The ambience here is unmatched. They have a welcoming team , uphold cleanliness, and are super attentive. I would definitely come here again!

There is plenty of parking in the area primarily in the garage area. There's outdoor and indoor seating. You order through the kiosk. The food didn't take too long to come out. The interior is spacious and modern. Their chocolate milkshake was enjoyable. Their melted classics are delicious and flavorful. My favorites are the patty melt and steak & cheese. The tomato soup went well with it.

It took us a while to discover The Melt in Sunnyvale, despite going to downtown Sunnyvale often. We just never walked down that part of McKinley. We only noticed it when there was an outdoor event where they closed off the block to set up booths. We strolled down the block to look at the booths for the event and discovered The Melt (and Urban Plates) near the end of that block, then made a note to come back another time. We were excited to check out The Melt. The burgers looked delicious and we had high expectations. Unfortunately, our first time trying The Melt left us disappointed. We ordered 2 burgers (the BBQ Bacon and the Shroom burgers) plus a Cookies & Cream milk shake. When we got home and opened the lids, we discovered that the BBQ Bacon burger was missing its top bun (see photo). How does this even happen? The person who closed the lid and packaged everything into the take out bag did not even notice that the burger had a missing bun?! Talk about lack of attention to details. We did not order the burger "without a bun". The label on top of the lid does not even say "no bun" (see photo). This is a pretty big quality control issue. That said, the rest of the BBQ Bacon burger was yummy. We were still disappointed that we got "less" than what we ordered. The Shroom burger was also delicious. I would get this again. Someday. Or maybe never. I dunno. I am not yet ready to give The Melt a second try when there are so many other burger restaurants that have never made such a huge error on my orders. Our Cookies & Cream milk shake was pretty good. I loved how they have a drink carrier that keeps it upright in the bag when you take it home (see photo). I like how they have a covered outdoor seating area in front of the restaurant. Sometimes it's nice to be outside while not having the hot sun beating down on you. There's inside seating, a few regular tables and a high table. Parking in the area is pretty easy. There's some street parking, and also nearby garages.

I always wanted to try this place. I came here for a lunch date. The service was really good, it's located in a business center with plenty of free parking. We ordered on the kiosk, but the person at the counter was hella nice and helpful. I just got a single burger, the ratio was actually hella good. We also ordered the mac and cheese, I think it's a lowkey sleeper hit. HELLA good especially for the price. The drinks were good as well. I have no complaints, I would come here again.

I have to write something that doesn't seem right. The picture on the kiosk doesn't sell. The sweet potatoes fries look so greasy and old. The chicken sandwich so greasy and fatty. I order both because I was hungry. I don't like greasy food but whatever. When I saw the fries, it looks so fresh and yummy. When I bite into it, crunchy and delicious. The chicken sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I ever had. It looks so refreshing. I couldn't take any pictures, I ate it so fast. My only complaint is look at your kiosk pictures, replace it with how the food looks. Food is excellent, picture not so much. read more

The food was good, I got the western bacon burger and sampled my son's Mac & cheese, but I was disappointed that fries didn't come with the burgers. You have to order them separately. Came here for the community day. It's a very nice location with inside and outside dining areas. The employees are friendly and although it was busy my order was ready within a few minutes. Had a great lunch at The Melt today! The staff is welcoming and helpful. I had the Italian Job sandwich (cheese with grilled mushrooms on spicy garlic bread) and french fries. Sandwich had gooey cheese and lots of grilled mushrooms. I can't say I tasted a lot of garlic on the bread, but it was perfectly toasted. Fries are delicious, too, - thin, nicely spiced. The outdoor eating space is perfect -- fully covered so you are sheltered from hot sun or rain. What a wonderful addition to downtown Sunnyvale! read more

One of the best tasting hamburgers I have ever had in my life! I have tried their salads, sandwiches, and macaroni. They all pass the taste test. You can immediately tell that the ingredients in the food are top quality. My go to is the Spicy Mission Melt Burger with a fried egg. When I went there lately, I had the BBQ bacon burger, and it was amazing! The burger had a wonderful BBQ sauce on top, which enhanced its flavor, and it was expertly grilled and juicy. The friendly cashier, Lee greeted me and was very helpful in suggesting sides to go with my meal. Overall, a wonderful burger and outstanding service. I usually wait after a few times of trying out a new spot to leave a review just to see if the service and quality are consistent and this place definitely meets the mark! The quality of the Mac and cheese and burgers is top tier. I enjoyed their milkshakes as well. The customer service is above and beyond as well. They're always efficient, helpful and courteous! Eureka! We finally found a burger near us worthy of taking the time to review it! This burger is delicious! From the first bite to the last licked finger delicious! Honestly one of the best places to hit up for lunch or dinner, even later at night since they stayed open till 12. The service is always friendly and fast. The cashier who greeted me was Lee and he took my order with a friendly and efficient attitude. I will definitely be coming back. There was a spice center with different spices, green onions, & sauces. It is one pound minimum for $14.99 lb. I was super full. Next time, I would take half of it home. Service was great. We walked up to sign in and they asked how many and gave us a table. We filled our bowls and someone was sitting at the assigned table. The cashier had someone move them so we were all good. The place is actually clean considering all the different bowls of raw ingredients to choose from. Tables were white with plastic orange/black bowls, chopsticks, and orange plastic spoons. It took less than 10 minutes for our bowls. Everything was hot & heated thru. They also refilled water. Employees weren't overly talkative but they were polite.

When they still had the tablets at the table, I remember ringing for a waiter/waitress to bring my mother a takeout container and I could hear the bell ringing in the kitchen. It was very quickly shut off, a sign that maybe someone would come shortly, but nope. I waited for 5-7 minutes and rang a second time and AGAIN they quickly turned it off with no one coming. I was tempted to grab the to-go box myself, but didn't want to risk being told not to do that and just wait for an employee... Finally, after what felt like at least 10-12 minutes, someone gave us a box! As for the cleanliness, when I was served my meal once, there was old food still stuck to my tray. While it was only the tray the dishes were served on, it made me question how clean the other dinnerware was. So, while I love the Miso Katsu, the past few experiences do not make this dish worth revisiting Yayoi. Honestly, the service has been so sub-par that I really don't know why I bothered coming back. Every time I go, I wonder how disappointing the service is going to be. So, try it if you must, but be proactive in making sure your server is attentive!

Do yourself a favor by getting the garlic parmesan fries and adding an egg to your burger. They have their own fountain sodas, which are made with cane sugar, and there are plenty of flavors so you can't go wrong. I tried a chocolate chip cookie and it was so warm and gooey that I was going to get one to go, but saw someone order a shake and knew I had to have one. The vibe inside was great, the whole crew was a pleasure to interact with, everything was nice and modern, and when I went to wash up, the bathroom was clean. The place was constantly busy but there really wasn't a wait. Outdoor seating was cozy with to T.V to enjoy, dinning room was spotless! Was greeted with the warmest welcome anyone could have received, I believe his name was Lee. Gave me some sounding recommendations and I have to say Lee Loves what he does. He suggested an Egg in a hole and add bacon with a tomato soup on the side, just amazing 10/10. Lee went the extra mile and handed out small desserts to finished off the meal. I got a personal root beer float just perfect ratio of ice cream to soda pop. The menu is extensive but I quickly settled on the salad bowl with spicy chicken. Didn't take long and my name was called and my to-go order was bagged and on the counter. Not being a rookie at this, I checked for utensils and napkins (to go, you know!). Bummer - a miss on both counts. Napkins - easy. Fork/spork/chop sticks - not so. I had to spin around a few times like a dog show pup before determining there are none available to the public. Like a restroom in the middle of nowhere, you have to ask. But - there's no one to ask. They're all busy putting together the next hot orders. Fortunately, someone else had food ordered so I grabbed someone's attention and quickly got my utensil. I waved at my friends and out the door I went. The salad was amazing. Loved the crispy chicken, veggies, and nicely balanced amount of dressing. And the portions - plenty! I made two meals out of it and wasn't disappointed. I'll be back.

Take a moment to check out the shadowbox wall display of the new owner's Silicon Valley roots, his old tech artifacts/knickknacks, as you walk to the register. Plenty of parking at this Dick's Sporting Goods/Sprouts shopping center. But if you're turning left from El Camino Real into the parking lot, watch out for front bumper scraping on the driveway ramp, especially if you come in a little fast.

The service was also good since it's such a big menu, the cashier helped us pick and explain what was good and preferred. Big place and lots of room!! I've been coming to St. John's for years. I lived nearby from 1998 to 2010 and used to eat there…read morealmost every week for their specials. I live in San Jose now, so I don't make it over as often, but I've always considered it one of my favorite places for a great burger. In fact, I was just telling a coworker this week how good their burgers were, which is what convinced me to stop in for lunch today. Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment. I ordered a burger, my wife had the chicken tenders, and we shared an order of cheese fries. The burger arrived completely undercooked. The pictures don't even do it justice--it wasn't just rare, it was raw. After a few bites I realized the meat wasn't even warm in the center. Since they use pre-formed patties, I'd think cooking them consistently would be one of the easier things to get right. By the time I realized how raw it was, I'd already eaten a few bites, and the meal was ruined. We ended up spending about $50 on a lunch that was essentially inedible. It was also 1:00 p.m. on a Saturday, and the restaurant was surprisingly empty. Maybe that's a sign that things have changed, but it's sad to see. As a longtime customer, this wasn't the experience I expected from a place I used to recommend without hesitation.
