All organic and great food! I visited the Campbell location Friday for lunch. I had the special "breaded chicken, shrimps on top, mashed potatoes and a wasabi gravy." Sorry I forgot the fancy name. But it was very good and just the right amount not too much not to less. Aqui is also famous for the industrial strength margarita. Which is a slurpy for adults. Don't get me wrong, the food is good. However, when you order it and ask for it to be ready at a specific time, we found out that it was actually made nearly an hour before and just sitting there. Not even under any heating lamps. Thus, the food was cold. :-( Unless you're eating in the restaurant, I do not recommend ordering it ahead of time at all! Very disappointing! Why even have the ability to pick a time to have it ready if they're just gonna make it when you originally order anyway. Had a good experience at Aqui Cal Mex! Came here on a Saturday around 12:45pm and it was fairly busy, but still lots of seating available inside. It's all self serve so once you order at the front, you'll be given a buzzer to notify you when your food is ready. I got the California Enchiladas and my friend got the Chicken Taquitos and our order was ready within 10 minutes. The salsa bar was amazing! There was sour cream, pico de gallo, firecracker sauce, etc and I loaded up my plate with everything California Enchiladas (5/5): Thoroughly enjoyed this! Usually not a potato fan but the mashed potato inside the enchilada worked well. The sauces from the salsa bar really enhanced the flavors of the dish! Aqui is our go to whenever we are in the mood for Mexican food in the South Bay. I have been known to drive to South Bay just to eat at Aqui. They deliver on taste, presentation, innovation and quality. I love the vegetarian options and just found my new love in their bowls. The Thai peanut bowl is so delicious if you don't want the usual Mexican dishes at Aqui. This time I ordered ahead of time and just picked up my order before a hike. Can I say my hike was better because of my yummy lunch. Service is never lacking. Day time the restaurant is quieter, but does get busy and a lot of life in the evenings. I came here with 9 coworkers, took a minute to order behind a line of 10 people but it was also because we were deciding. This time I tried a new Swirl Flavor, the Hennessy Blackberry Swirl -- wow it was amazing! I will definitely get that flavor again. Food - I had the "Crabcake and Chicken enchiladas" main entree. Large helping, I finished half and my husband took care of the rest. Large crab cake on top with tomatoes, zucchinis and a really good sauce over the chicken enchiladas. My son had the Adobo Chicken Fajitas which he said were delicious. My husband had the Grilled Shrimp Supreme bowl which I tasted, very yummy with cilantro rice, pinto beans, avocado and salsa. He also always gets an Aqua Fresca there. Service - this is not table service, you order at the counter and get a buzzer. Usually food is ready in less than 15 minutes. When you order a swirl, they will ask for an I.D., and you can order two drinks max at a time. They have their usual swirls, but they add new swirls during different seasons as a limited-time addition. I've had this in my 20's when I wanted to rage, but now that I'm in my late 30's, I don't even drink these anymore because I find them too sweet now. For the food, don't expect authentic Mexican. This is why sometimes people rate their food low. It's Mexican American but with high-quality ingredients. My go-to order is their Southwest Caesar, but I substitute the grilled salmon with blackened salmon. The salmon can sometimes be dry, but I like the flavor profile. Also, their crab cakes are delicious. Avoid their chips! Their tortilla chips are not good. They taste dry and stale, similar to those big-bagged tortilla chips at Costco. Trust me, I'm a tortilla chip lover and very picky when it comes to tortilla chips. This place has a salsa bar, which is a huge plus. If you like spicy food, get habanero salsa (orange). Their firecracker sauce is good, too, which goes more with seafood. It's the one that looks like Thousand Island dressing. read more

PARKING There was an abundance of space in a private lot, which made it convenient for us. SERVICE When it came to service, we noticed that it was a walk-up-to-order, pay, and find a seat type of place. Although it was a little busy at the front, the staff eventually acknowledged us and walked us over to the pick-up/to-go order counter to place our orders. The staff was friendly and accommodating. FOOD For our meal, we both decided to go with salads. The portion sizes were generous, and the salad greens were crisp and fresh. However, the salmon in the salad was served slightly colder than we would have preferred, which was a bit disappointing. On the positive side, we liked that the restaurant offered self-serve drinks and utensils, and we were pleased that our food was ready as soon as our buzzer went off. I want to give Chicken burrito 5 stars. The Chicken is real good, like big chunks of juicy Chicken Breast. The thing that makes the burrito less good is the Rice is never Soft. I guess most people like firm Rice, but I cannot like the Rice here ( if it is Firm rice). I prefer rice from either Chipotle (Saratoga Ave makes best rice) or YoshiNoya makes the Soft Rice always. So 5 star Chicken but burrito has Firm Rice. The Sweet potatoes are good tho. The strange thing is that when I decide to try kids burrito, I did not have Rice problem. Maybe there was less rice ( so i cannot complain about how Firm it was) but the Chicken kids burrito seem to taste better as maybe the rice was softer on that day. Or just that too much rice in adult burrito and I dont like Aqui's Firm rice. Either way, the Chicken in the burritos are real good. Better than Las Palmas ( the only reason to go Las Palmas is they give way too much meat there but meat better at Aqui, just hard rice). I do hope Aqui improves its boiled beans. The boiled beans seem to need a little bit of Onion powder or just any type of seasoning. I guess it might be hard to make Refried beans but add some Fat ( either pork or just cooking oil) to make beans have flavour. Maybe I need to try their refried beans. I think I got boiled beans in my meal. My Dad said his Tofu special was real good that day. Before, Dad ordered Salmon salad and complain about the Chips getting in the way of eating his salad. They put delicious fresh fried tortillas chips but he should have requested it on the side. Dad always try to order the most expensive meal as he wants Huge Quantity. But this time, they had a Huge Tofu display in the front and Dad thought it look Huge and was very cheap price. Since Dad wants to order the most expensive dish ( usually), I suggest that Aqui has some type of Rice or Potato dish which includes both Salad and Carbs. So it would be nice for Dad to order a complete dinner with Protein, Carbs ( like potato or Rice), and Salad all in one meal. Because if he tries to order the most expensive dish I am not sure if it comes with both Rice & Salad. Dad never complains about their rice ( maybe because he ususally tries their salad or once they had some seafood special and he liked it). I know this is long winded but one more thing to improve. When I point to the menu the Burrito said 12.29? but cashier tried to be nice by only charge 11.29 ? Or maybe he was new and did not know how to charge 12.29. When I got the Chicken burrito, it look small so I complain to the girl at the serving station that I wanted to pay 12.29 but cashier guy only charge 11.29. So I ask her if she could add the boil bean ( or black bean) on the side so that I at least get extra bean as there was more Rice in my burrito than bean ( there were big chunks of chicken but not that much). Anyhow, girl explain to me that the 12.29 price would have included a tiny salad, but I dont want salad, I just want more bean so she gave me boiled beans on the side so I was happy. But boil black beans had zero flavour but I put sour cream from salad bar and it was fine. Im just saying that if you charge me 12.29 I would have been happy but just put more beans on side if the burrito looks small. My fiance got the pork carnitas bowl and I got the chicken taquitos. They were both ok but nothing that exciting and kind of lacking in flavor. It was so crowded that we didn't even see the salsa bar until we left as it's positioned kind of near the door, not really near where you pick up your food. Probably would have been better with some salsa. It was also tough to get water. The glasses are where the employees are so you have to ask for one from them but they're all busy and won't look at you, so not the easiest experience.
