It's sad having to explain this being that I work across the street from here and used to come here every day but... EXTREMELY RUDE AND RACIST STAFF ! I'm usually the only black guy there when ordering, I'm the only customer who isn't handed their food in their hand, instead it's passed down from the chef to the counter... yesterday was the one time they actually gave me my food in my hand to go pay for it at the register, GREAT ! I get to the register the cashier ask me "what do you have" I reply "bacon egg and cheese" Cashier: "one or two eggs" ME: one .. Then he rudely asks the chef in front of me to confirm I wasn't lying ... idk why but I came back again for lunch... Different staff but sadly the same results, this time i ordered pizza. Again I'm surprised that I revived my food in my hand twice in one day ,this time I have my buffalo chicken pizza ready to pay. I highly recommend The Mill!! I am a frequent customer who gets breakfast there every single morning! It's always quite delicious and I just love the customer service. I'm a creature of habit and really appreciate that the staff remembers my order which is (a) very impressive and (b) makes me feel like I'm valued as a customer. They even take a moment and ask about my day and/or weekend. You don't get that in many places. I've even been for lunch a few times and have enjoyed the vast selections of pastas, salads, sandwiches, entrees and pizza. Horrible food. The "cook" has no idea how to prepare eggs over medium. He's too busy taking orders and pushing food through "the mill" to pay attention to the quality of the food he's preparing.. I frequent this area. If you're looking for a solid place for a quick lunch or breakfast, this place is pretty good. Its nothing fancy, but they have good smoothies, panninis, sandwiches, and salads. Bought a bagel here and it was trash. They spread the créame cheese as if it was butter. Barely anything. Bagels also taste generic and not fresh. I picked this place to eat because of excellent reviews and price for NYC. Thoroughly impressed with the food, service and price. There's not too many places in NYC where you can feed a family of three for $20.00. My wife had pancakes and turkey bacon, daughter had a bagel with bacon and cream cheese, and I had two eggs scrambled with bacon on a bun and we all had drinks. The 2 stars is only for affordable food price. Customer Service, food prep and cashier sometimes are just rude and unprofessional. I get it, its a fast paced environment, get in and out quick. I used to come during peak times with long lines and at least four times did not make my order until I reminded them, my order is simple just 3 ingredients!! Started coming after peak time with one or two people in front of me but still take forever to start my order. They even served 2 customers after me who paid and left with more complicated choices, I wonder why?? Especially when I'm not rude to them and try to smile. They have also overcharged me once. Quality of food is spotty especially the eggs and bacon. Not coming back here unless someone else is paying for my food. read more

I go here every day for breakfast for a reason. They don't say they're fast for nothing. They really are fast, which is why I come here every day to pick up my breakfast rather than pay less next door. Quickness is important when you are in a rush to get to work on time. This place just opened up recently on Lexington Ave. The front end staff of the restaurant are quite pleasant, agreeable and polite. The front end is clean and bright, very welcoming. However, the back end - where one goes for breakfast, is quite a different experience. Very rude and nasty staff. It's like 2 different restaurants under one roof. One will experience a longer wait time in the back as opposed to the front, in fact, prepare to be ignored. I arrived at 7:30 in the morning - only 2 other customers present, yet I still had to wait even though there were 5 staff behind the counter. Asked for a basic bacon, egg and cheese on WHITE toast, received a grunt as a reply, overcooked bacon on burnt wheat bread. There was no reason to get order confused or rush, as I ensured to be quite clear in my selection, and there were no other patrons waiting. Burnt bread nonetheless. They literally make 10 eggs at a time, hoping the next person will order eggs. Either your eggs will be mushy or over cooked and burnt. They literally throw your food on the sandwich, 0 assembling skills. Such a sloppy careless job. ive seen then slab a whole chunk of cream cheese and not even spread it to the point that you know some of that bread will be dry. it takes 1 second to mush and spread the cream cheese. They cannot cook an egg. Ask for a medium done egg, or easy over, you are wasting your time. Because you will get the egg anyway it comes out or they decided to cook it. They rush you and are rude. "YES WHAT DO YOU WANT"Barely making eye contact with you, and always mess up somehow. This place is so unprofessional and the girls at the front take their job as even more of a joke. A couple of years ago this place used to be my go to with kind staff. Now I to just about any other place because this deli is inconsistent and sloppy with a new horrible cashier. Sometimes for breakfast you get a perfect fried egg and other times you get an under cooked egg with runny egg whites and yolk that you didn't ask for. Even if you can cope with a surprise breakfast sandwich, you still have to deal with the snobby cashier always looking to charge you more. She'll ask "anything else" you say "no that's all", she ask at least two more times saying "are you sure no cheese, or anything". This is so frustrating time and time again when you just want to get your simple 1 egg sandwich and go! And you know she remembers your order she is just being a pest by being accusatory and showing that she doesn't believe you. Then when you get inpatient after the 3rd time of her asking she throws your card at you and ignores you when you ask for the receipt. I've had enough! Lunch is not of good quality either. Just find one of the many other delis in the area with better food and who treats you like a normal customer without the hassle or disrespect. read more

I did not have a good experience here. I went in for breakfast. I told the worker that I wanted a one egg sandwich with veggies on a bagel. He was very busy and was not listening well. I saw the bagel being toasted, but in the chaos of the kitchen area, I also saw it being buttered and wrapped as if it was a separate order. By that time I realized that the worker had not heard me correctly and that there was poor communication amongst the staff. He ended up making a 3 egg omelette. When I complained, he opened up the buttered bagel and slid the eggs into it to turn it into a sandwich. It wasn't exactly what I wanted because I didn't want that many eggs nor did I want it in buttered bread. They also overcharged me. Overall it was not a positive customer experience. I felt rushed, frustrated, and not happy about eating the end product. Because of these negative feelings, I will not return. There are many other places to eat. read more
