The worst diner I've ever been to..... Ever thought it was possible but yes... It is! The waitress had no idea about what was in the foods, healthy vs unhealthy... She just took orders... The place was ran down! The tables were faded and worn. Juke boxes at ever table. Wood, ripped Cushion seats... I ordered a French onion because there was wayyyy too much gibberish in the menu. I feel bad for this place. The outside looks so awesome but once you eat the food you change your mind. We were only hoping for diner fare. The menu is so big it's crazy. They are way too ambitious here. I would suggest they stick to REAL diner food, it may save them. Otherwise they are going to continue to receive these crappy reviews from people like me. I was the only smart one at my table. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries. And a coke. How can you go wrong? They even asked me how I wanted it cooked (always medium rare!) and they got it RIGHT! Like I said, they'd be fine if my review stopped there. But no, they have to offer beef dips and mussels with pasta. And some people are going to be crazy enough to order them. Don't do it!! The beef dip was dry, icky, and the bread just so-so. The mussels were weird, pasta was icky, sauce was tasteless. My side order of coleslaw was fantastic though. See how that goes?? Recently paid a 2nd visit after a disappointing prior visit 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately this time around (and my last) was worse than expected. The service was very slow and definitely not what you would expect at a diner. There was no smile, warm feeling, or pep in the step of the waitresses working there. The general menu is endless and the Black Board Dinner menu adds to the options and decision making. We ordered 1 dinner special off the Black Board menu, a simple chicken dish, along with a Quesadilla and Fires, and a Chicken finger basket and fries. It took 20 Minutes to receive the relatively simple orders, while we watched 3 other tables come in after us and be served before us. Our food was very bland, dry, and even the salad was lousy. How can you screw up a side salad?? It was not fresh and the dressing was a cheap thick glob that was probably some cheap dressing sold in a drum. Fries were cold, and the chicken fingers were like the ones you get at a carnival or amusement park. None of us finished our meal, and we should've taken notice from the 3 or 4 other tables who ordered pancakes, burgers or a sandwich. There service was faster and it looks like the simple food options may have been slightly better. We have been here before years ago and have had much better experiences. Not sure if the ownership or cooks have changed, but I will not be returning. Even the cheesecake dessert was not fresh and had a refrigerated taste to it. We used to come here just for the cheesecake at one point. I can definitely spend the steep $100 these 3 simple meals without alcohol or appetizers cost me. And with the 1 dessert which should have been free, there was no value to this experience or meal. Skip this location and go to either Hauppauge or Lake Grove for the quality and experience you would expect from a Long Island Diner. It bothers me to write this review but felt it was necessary. How could such a nice exterior have such poor service and mediocre food? Prices are a bit steeper than most diners around. (2 eggs check: somewhere around $5.40.) The food was OK: sweet potato fries, excellent; vegetable panini, blah; eggplant parm, OK (according to fiancee). After we were finished with our food, it took the waitress almost 30 min to come over and check on us. Plus we finished our water twice and had to wait a while to be refilled. Awful Awful Awful! The worst diner I've ever been to. I stopped coming here for years and decided to give it a try again...bad decision. I ordered an omelette and found a long, stringy, black hair in the middle. When I brought it to the attention to my server he questioned where the hair was...it was right in the middle of my eggs! When we asked for the check as my party and I were disgusted, he didn't even apologize or take it off the bill. The manager couldn't of cared less and when I told him I wasn't paying for my food he also didn't apologize and replied with "I heard about the hair." I Highly recommend the specials at the millennium diner. Make sure you come hungry ! In addition to great food the service was fantastic The special gives you your choice of stuffed mushrooms or clams, salad or soup, your main dish, potato, veggie, glass of wine, and dessert. I went to eat lunch with four members of my family and nobody liked their food as It was all tasteless and sub par. I hate this diner. I have never had a good dish from here and it is completely over priced. I have gone here after sport matches with my team and the wait staff is ridiculously rude. It is understandable that we may be a handful, but we would never stiff our waitress of a tip or cause a disturbance. Standard diner experience, filled with let down hopes served with broken dreams when the jukebox stole our money and didn't play any cool tunes. Alas, service was pretty speedy (it was a Monday night around 9pm) and my chicken melt wasn't half bad. The waitress was definitely training a new person, which was cool. Overall the selection was pretty good but the dinner specials were expensive. This place has a typical old school feel, including the decor. The employees are very polite and helpful. Service is a bit slow. The menu is varied with many selections. The food was average. Chicken was dry and the salad was wilting. They do make excellent mixed drinks. The restroom was dirty with toilet tissue strewn about. Fairly convenient location. Parking lot is small but well lit. Visiting a friend in Smithtown, we went to eat there yesterday. I'm from Bensonhurst, where years ago, everyone had a favorite diner, Vegas, Del Rio, Richelieu, etc., but they're all gone. Going to the Millennium was like going back in time. The place is huge, big crowd, large menu. The service was great, the cheese burger deluxe was perfect, the cashier, a sweetheart. The Millennium Diner has been a landmark in Smithtown for almost 15 years! I've eaten here since day one of this diner being open and I've never had a complaint. The food is always excellent, the servers are friendly, outgoing and helpful! The owners are always present and welcome you like family! The food is DELICIOUS! The chicken souvlaki, Italian omelet and Millennium Deluxe are my ultimate favorites. Price? Exactly as it should be and as it would be anywhere else...I don't understand these bad reviews but if you want a REAL diner experience, come to the Millennium! Our go to Saturday morning breakfast spot. We used to come a few times a week but having 2 children under the age of three limits us. The staff is always super friendly and know my kids by name. It was hard and not good. 5:15 came no meal. 5:30 no meal we asked what was taking so long. The server said chef is backed up. 5:45 PM we asked manager what was taking so long he did not seem to care and said 2 chefs are backed up place is busy. We got there 4:45PM not busy at all. I paid for the salads and left at 5:45PM. Place still not busy. Manager could not give us time our food would come out. Not going to wait for one hour 30 min or more for Fish. Not a fancy dish. You would think manager would apologize or give us the salads we offered to pay for free. Nope. Also there was a family with 2 kids. Kids at least 5 or 6 maybe older. I just had dinner with my wife. It's New Year's Day and the place was pretty empty. Many of the customers seem to be regulars. The service was good and the food was not bad. Typical diner fare. I ordered a slice of cheesecake but had it wrapped to go. Got it home and I swear that it must have been a wax display that was put in the bag by mistake. Holy sh*t. I could not eat it. It was the worse dried out, rubberized piece of crap that I was ever served. No exaggeration. It must have been two weeks old. Just received my order from this diner. For starters judging on the freshness of the food I think the health department would probably shut them down!!! The chicken walnut spinach salad well the chicken was raw and the blue cheese was cooked to a soup my gag reflex acted immediately!!! The Texas style deluxe was basically cardboard chicken again uncooked American cheese rocks for bacon and NO BBQ SAUCE!!!! The banana cream pie well we all know bananas oxidize BUT THEY WERE BLACK AND SOUR!!!!! Me and my family could not finish our dinner which ran me over $100 and decided to give it to our dogs so at least someone would eat it AND THEY REFUSED TO EAT IT!!!! And they will eat there own poop once in a blue moon!!!!!!!! Fantastic place. I'm there every Friday night and always greeted with a warm welcome!. The staff especially Susan and Jovana are always courteous and friendly to me.
