Yesterday was my first time coming to Milleridge Inn and it was amazing. The Easter event is phenomenal and the food was amazing. I had no reservations but arrived very early and was greeted by Freddy the manager who kindly was willing to seat us. I was so thankful my son who is one was able to have a memorable Easter. Once we were seated our server Thalia was super sweet and helpful in assisting my elderly parents understand the menu. Thalia had the patience to explain what was included in The Easter menu and was very kind. I will definitely be coming back here and requesting Thalia as my server. I love when servers are happy to see children at their tables, I've had experiences where kids are not welcome. I had the prime rib and it was perfect! Ordered medium rare and served perfect. This review is for special event catering only. I can only hope that their regular service and brunch are far better. We came for a friends special event that was held in the Quaker Room. The Inn is spacious but a tad old (maybe it's intentional to catch the old world charm but it kind of smelled old too). Decor is really old and dated and at least for me, it wasn't working. The offerings were a set menu - pasta for appetizer, salad and choice of protein (skirt steak, mahi mahi or chicken). The food overall was quite frankly pretty terrible. The steak was cooked unevenly (some parts rare, some parts well done), the mahi mahi was dry to the point of being inedible, salad way overdressed (and it looked like it came out of a bag). The penne was salvageable but the best item on the table was the kid's french fries. Service here was also off. This hopefully can be accounted for by the place having a few events going on at the same time but it was subpar. Servers were nowhere to be found when guests needed things, they took orders incredibly slowly and the food just came out in spurts. Some tables got their food 10 minutes before others. What made things worse was that the kids meals came out all at different times and nothing is worse than having hungry toddlers. Overall, it wasn't a great dining experience but I would be willing to come back to try their brunch which I hear is far better. read more

This is an update, since 2018. We selected this old fashioned American heritage restaurant, where we used to take our parents and families, partially because: (a) there's another rising surge of COVID in Nassau County (Omicron) and we hoped for seating in a corner that might be 6 feet away from other diners; and (b) one of us has a hearing problem, despite the latest, cellphone operated hearing aids, and needed to be away from ambient noise or wouldn't be able hear us speaking. Our reservation hostess over the phone suggested the Copper Room, and I requested a quiet corner. While she said she couldn't guarantee seating preferences, we booked it anyway. She asked for my phone number, I have her my cell, and a minute later Open Table confirmed our basic reservation without our two special requests (a corner table in a quiet room). Turns out that at 6:00 PM there was almost no one there on this Sunday night ... almost empty. When we left at 8:00 PM, ours were about the last two cars in the vast parking lot. What was sweet, however, was that we saw three peacocks roaming the parking lot and squawking, and a sign by the exit stop sign with a peacock picture that said "Peacock Crossing." In the distance, we also saw what might've been a white swan. Anyway, every room of the restaurant had rock and roll musak, 70s and 80s, so there were no really "quiet rooms" and they didn't turn down the music, despite our request. However, we did sit in a corner of the Copper Room under a portrait of George Washington by Gabler, which didn't look like any others I've seen of this founding father. I ordered the all-American turkey dinner with stuffing, mashed potatoes and turkey giblet gravy. The two wives ordered Long Island duckling with Brussell sprouts, and my buddy ordered the meatloaf. My wife thought the duck was good, my buddy and I thought our dishes were decent. My turkey dinner was on the fixed price menu, so it came with a house salad, that was also "decent." My fixed price dinner also came with dessert, so I ordered the apple strudel. While it came warm, it had a thick glazed sugar crust, sprinkled confectioners sugar on top of that, with whipped cream on the side and what looked like drizzled, butterscotch syrup. I didn't ask for any toppings, but here, as elsewhere, even bakeries, they assume you want all that sugar added to your pastries. As to ice cream, all they have to offer is chocolate and vanilla. As to cappuccino, it is no longer offered because, we were told, the espresso machine busted a few months ago and has yet to be repaired. As to tea, the choices are regular and decaf, but there are no other varieties (neither jasmine, green nor herbal). The Milleridge Inn is not what it used to be and feels like it's on its way out. I used to come here for Easter all the time when my grandparents lived right behind the Whole Foods. Loved waking through the village and then having a great meal. We had a 5 PM reservation. The food was awful! Like disgusting tasting and cold. It was not like it used to be and to charge that much money for such a tasteless meal, is awful. I attended an event here, so I did not pay for my meal. Our event was at noon. When we arrived there were pastries on every table. I'm not sure if that is a standard thing that this place does or if the host picked it as part of their menu. I'm not sure why we needed pastries before our meal, but whatever. We also had dishes with butter in them but no bread. No bread was served at the meal either. The staff picked up the butter before cake was served. We had a choice of 3 entrees. Everyone at my table picked a different one and each was pretty bad. Mine appeared to have been rewarmed more than once as the edges were quite hard from being cooked a few times. This places needs a remodel badly. It is about 45 years past it's prime. When I came here in my teens this place was so elegant and classy. I would not waste the money on an event here. read more

There are traditions you keep with your family year in and year out, especially around the holidays. For me, The Milleridge Inn has been a Christmas season tradition for over 25 years. I have glowing memories of dining in each room, hearing carolers belt out songs, walking through the village, and spending time with loved ones a few weeks before December 25th. And this year was no different in those general aspects of Milleridge. But diving below that, the details have changed, and the jury is out on whether it's for the better, or if it will continue to alter those childhood images. The evening began this past Saturday with a 5:30 reservation. Driving into the Inn area, we immediately noticed an uptick in X-Mas lights. It honestly wasn't tacky and gave more life to an old building. We checked in with the hostess in that same waiting area I've stepped into all my life. Compared to last year, this was a packed room of parties. Oddly, names were being shouted out by a few voice-strained employees. We stuck close by to ensure we heard their yelps (mild pun) as this seemed like an outdated way of doing things, especially with a paging system they had used once upon a time that went throughout the grounds. Once our party was called, we entered into the main dining room and were given a table directly in front of the hustle and bustle of everyone and everything that goes on. So, we asked for a different table just to give us a little more privacy away from the center of the masses. We ended up in a half booth/table near the main room which was definitely a better swing for us. Upon sitting, we received our cinnamon bread and water from a bus boy, and began to look over the menu. But, this wasn't that old 8 selections on a Saturday night menu. This was a full-fledged à la carte menu of great choices. The prix fixe was still an option which made for a nice balance between trying something new and sticking with classics. After sitting for at least 20 minutes, we noticed that we seemed rather invisible to the wait staff. It was getting a little alarming until my sister stopped a waitress to ask the million dollar question: "Who is our waitress?" Off she went to find out. We couldn't help but notice her talking to other waitresses and staff and looking in our direction. Apparently, no one was our waitress as they couldn't figure it out, but she was nice enough to take on our table. That moment put us all on red alert for anything else that might seem out of sorts. When finally ordering, 4/5 of our group were creatures of habit and went for the prix fixe. My father was the black sheep and chose the sirloin burger and a side of lobster mac & cheese. With our fixes, we all got soup and salad with my mother choosing chopped liver instead of the aforementioned French onion choice. These were delivered by the kitchen...and all at the same time. There was no staggering of dishes and we were also missing a salad and the liver. We informed the waitress, who dealt with a little blowback from the kitchen, but got us our missing items. When the main meal arrived, everything went smoothly for a bit. Our dishes of the fixe (2 pot roasts and 2 chicken Milleridge) came out nicely in presentation and flavor. The burger looked good, though my father never touched it (we took it home) because he filled up on the large, delicious mac & cheese. We ordered coffee and dessert (peppermint ice cream for most and a seven layer cake), and began to notice a lack of something amongst the place: carolers. Okay, there were 3 carolers rotating around, offering a table side carol, but the usual groups were nowhere to be found. What also was nowhere to be found was the coffee as the waitress brought our dessert and then had to go back and brew the beverage herself. That put a final note on the evening, or rather a moral: A server can only do so much and is only as good as the staff and management around them. True, it was a Saturday evening 2 weeks before Christmas, but that initial server mixup shouldn't happen on any night. Beyond that, if you didn't know (and actually read this far!), Milleridge is under new ownership, and it shows. The added lights and new menu are wonderful upgrades, but things seem to be amiss. Yes, the building is the same and you'll still hear some caroling and get your popovers (don't worry), and feel the Christmas spirit, but if this isn't your first time here, you'll notice the differences, and you may not like it. Overall, Milleridge isn't what it used to be, and in a way that's a good thing. But the hope is that they can work out the kinks that knocked this experience down from 4 stars to 3 and return itself to the glory days it once held. As per tradition, I won't be back until next Christmas, but I'll be coming with a little trepidation. In the meantime, come for yourself and hopefully you'll recant experiences on Yelp that let me know The Milleridge Inn is still capable of making joyous holiday memories. read more

So disappointed; Came here for Valentine's Day cookie decorating with the kids. It took them an hour to bring out "kitchen sink" looking meat loaf dish... I had requested well done on the French dip, which I thought was the reason it took so long. Nope it came out rare and bloody. The 2 kids grilled cheese where half decent but even that was meh. We ( the adults) didn't eat, my boyfriend took one bite out of the meat loaf and it was awful and the Brussels sprouts looked like they were scrapped off the floor. I attempted to send back my French dip but it came back done just bloody on the bread. Needless to say- I couldn't even take a bite. So the kids were so famished at this point they hesitantly downed half of the grilled cheese, but no one seemed to care. We had to get up twice to ask for service and finally the check. It all took so long we didn't get to decorate the cookies; had to take them home. They hesitantly "comped" the food but charged me 50$! For two grilled cheese. I kid you not. It was a pretty bad experience all around; will never come back here again. We came to the village to ride the train, precooked online, it was broken. They didn't care. We still tried to make the best of it, bough the kids some snacks and the nicest people were the ladies at the bakery that offered us two free cookies. The rest was below subpar. I understand everyone is trying to survive but the lack of customer service was pretty bad. I would give zero stars. I spent about 125... and had to stop at Wendy's on the way home. read more

I'm writing this review as we're waiting for the bill to be adjusted. Absolutely Brutal food. Horrendous. The place is beautifully decorated for the holidays. We came here for my birthday lunch with the kids. The food is horrific, I wasn't aware of a salt shortage on Long Island. We ordered 3 skirt steaks and none of them were seasoned and all very tough. Had to send them back. My daughter ended up getting chicken fingers and wouldn't even wrap them. Our waiter avoided us like the plague, most likely due to embarrassment of working here and the food they turn out. I will never come here ever again read more

Came for the Christmas village. We made reservations online for late in the day but arrived a little early. I think this worked best for us as we were the first group to come in and had the first spot to see Santa. The Staff did a great job enforcing the covid guidelines as I heard one of them nicely ask a guest to stop smoking and to wear their face mask. There are plenty of hand sanitizer stations too. The village itself is cute with lots of photo opportunities for the whole family. Kids are given a ticket for a free cup of hot cocoa. Our crew also hopped on for a train ride. It's a good covid friendly activity for the family. We didn't do some of the other things they had (escape room, etc) so we were completed within an hour. The layout was a little confusing and you need to remember to bring cash. Anything you do, you'll need to use the Milleridge cash. I guess it's simpler for them to have one cash spot. read more

This was our 5th year going back for Thanksgiving. We should have learned last year after it was lackluster. Yes the inn is lovely and the decorations are beautiful, but that's it. You pay a fortune for subpar food and terrible service. Our waiter was barely present and the orders were mixed up between our table and the one next to us. No cranberry sauce for thanksgiving, food delivered at different times and turkey that looked like canned chicken. We will never return and do not recommend spending your hard earned money on a place that has lost its worthiness and overall respect for paying customers. read more

The pub "the carriage house " is to put it nicely, was a horrible experience. The food took forever and to be completely honest, was NOT worth the wait. The food was overpriced and there was nothing special about it. The sandwiches were mostly bread, with a small amount of meat. Our waiter was polite but wasn't very attentive. For it not being busy at all, the food should not have taken two hour to be delivered to our table ( not everyone even ordered a meal.) Rating is zero stars (but system does not allow it so I had to put 1) because aside from the inedible food, the awful service, the dirty space, this was an incredible GOUGE. We came as a family for brunch with Santa. Given the overpriced cost ($3-400?) we expected warm food, lots or options, and incredible service. Gross. They ran out of the slimy cold eggs. Offered cereal and cheap pastries and a dried out brown fruit salad. When the kitchen was advised on food that was empty, it took forever to replenish and even then, options seemed less scant. Service was awful. Not giving drinks and the dining room was disgusting and disorganized. Not sure why they required strict seating and reservations when it seemed like a free for all. No food guards on any of the food so kids were grabbing items with bare hands as other adults coughed on the food. Pancakes seemed like frozen junk and the french toast was stale and over cooked. We should have gotten a full refund for this charade. Not sure how they stay in business with overpriced, inedible food. This is a CAN and SHOULD miss place and experience. Ihop would have been better. Oh let's not forget there was a no refund policy for any reason and they expected payment in full for the reso. SO disappointed! My family has been coming here every year since the 20s and several family weddings in the cottage over the years. This and Jericho Cider Mill are two places our family enjoyed every year. The building is the same but the food, service and pricing all made us all realize we are changing our pre-holiday outing to another location. As children we always did our Christmas shopping in the little shoppes. Our parents would give us money and we would run from shop to shop to get our little gifts for each other while the parents, grandparents, Aunts and Uncles relaxed with a drink, then we all enjoyed a wonderful meal, popovers, and Christmas carolers and beautiful decorations. No more! Two shoppes were opened the general store and the bakery, so the promised shopping for the lil ones was a bust. We really wanted to continue to pass down this generational tradition, but it was ruined by the updates. Why are only two shoppes open during high season? We arrived an hour before dinner just so we could visit the shoppes. Also new, you need to leave a $100 deposit to make a reservation, we didn't mind this but the reservationists was rude in explaining the new policy and actually hung up on my sister for asking what happens if someone has COVID but we canceled days in advance. She couldn't answer the question so hung up? Strange customer service. Still after taking a $100 deposit and us making a 4pm seating, to avoid the crowds, our table was not ready until 4:20. We went to the bar where we paid $12 for a shot and $15 per drink!! Fine, we don't mind spending the money because this is tradition after all and we are going to get the same meals we have been getting our whole lives, wrong! They did away with or changed almost all the classic dishes from the past, no chicken livers, they still had the sauerbraten but it was NOT the traditional ginger snap gravy and the potato dumplings were gummy and tasteless, the gravy tasted like they mixed Worcestershire sauce with water, three of four orders went back, the same with the classic pot roast, tasteless and the chicken pot pie, the popovers tasted like they had no eggs or salt, simply tasteless even with loads of butter and they were clearly reheated not fresh though they weren't busy as in years past. They added things like burrata, Caesar salad and skirt steak to the menu, WHY?! If people wanted that standard fare we can get that anyplace. While visiting family, to celebrate our mother's 83rd birthday, we decided on the Milleridge Inn. Past experiences enjoyed wonderful memories and on this special occasion we anticipated another enjoyable memory. Unfortunately, it didn't take long for disappointment to set in. Our waiter reached across in front of guests to serve others seated next to them. He forgot to bring requested items and when it came time for dessert he didn't bother to ask if we'd like beverages. We finally had to gain his attention and request the coffee/tea. He just seemed indifferent and his service was subpar. The food was also disappointing. The pot roast was dry and the accompanying gravy was a bit salty. The famous meatloaf was very salty and the accompanying brussel sprouts were over-cooked, dry and inedible. The short rib appetizer had hardly any meat on it and the accompanying French fries were partly burnt. The sauerbraten was ok at best. The bread was right on target. It is doubtful that any never of the family will return and that may extend to friends of the family as well. Very disappointing... read more

My mother and I were here today Friday 7/23/2021 around 3:30 pm and we had the prix fixe dinner. For the most part, it was good although my mother didn't care for the meatloaf dinner because it was seasoned with rosemary which she didn't care for very much, therefore, our server Kristen was very nice and she immediately changed my mother's dinner for something that was more to her liking. Kristen was very accommodating and pleasant. A special honorable mention should be paid to a very nice male waiter who wasn't our waiter but he came along and cleared our plates and was very pleasant and friendly. Sadly, I didn't catch his name but he was very young and wore glasses. He even asked us if we needed or wanted anything else. ;) Both were great!. read more

So we spent our 5th and final thanksgiving at this establishment. Every year the service and food have just gone down hill. Even some of our family refused to go this year because last year wasn't good. I guess my memory didn't think it was that bad but after this year I will never come back. We had a reserved seating with was delayed 15 mins after arriving 30 mins early. After being seated there weren't enough chairs at the table. Missing silverware and not enough menus for our table. We had to wait 20 mins for a waiter just to get water and get our drink orders in. So that was just the beginning of the ordeal we had. The food was so bland, only thing that tasted ok was the gravy and cranberry sauce. Don't waste your time or money here it's not with it. There are plenty of other restaurants that take the time and effort to ensure quality with their food and service. read more

This place is a Long Island Staple and I have never been disappointed with any of my visits here, which is usually a couple of times a year for parties. Let restart out by saying the the staff here is nothing less then magnificent. They were so in-tune with the guests and any needs they may have had. ALL he appetizers were terrific, as matter of fact I had so many lamb chop, beef wellingtons, crab cakes, shrimp in bacon, pigs in blanket )(of course,) that when it came time for dinner at the buffet, I just watched. Items were cooked to completion, I had nothing that was dry, undercooked, watery, etc... For dinner I ate the lobster claws and shrimp. Again, all cooked perfectly and all had a great fresh taste. This is definitely a place that I would have host my party or even come for dinner one evening. The grounds are charming and it's just a fun place to walk around and browse the shops. I am certainly looking forward to my next visit here, and if I leave room for dinner, I will give an extensive review of each item ate. read more

My first time to this Long Island landmark.........Had a company "Holiday Dinner" recently........the venue is perfect for the season.......entire place is light up with Christmas theme. History on the joint goes back to 1635; you've got to be kidding me! Anyway; they put the 20 of us in a small cramped room in the main building. Service was professional, but not outstanding. Rumors are the place is up for sale?.........dinner was institutional, salad bland, pasta appetizer nothing special. I had chicken cordon bleu as an entree...meh.....only thing memorable was the popovers they some server handed out out of a ittle red ridding hood basket......... We had a 4 singing carollers come by and belt out couple of Christmas tunes.....they were actually pretty good..... I doubt I would go back for a dinner there until my 80th birthday celebration....... read more

We haven't been here in quite awhile. My Mother in law (99 years young) suggested dinner. I made a reservation for 4:30 pm, after the brunch crowd was gone. When we arrived, I had to look for someone to seat us and mark off our reservation. We were seated and our waitress, who was pleasant and attentive seemed to be the only person working. Other guests showed up walking in and looking for someone to seat them too. I felt it was disorganized. We saved our appetite for dinner and unfortunately, it was mediocre. Very disappointing. Booked my reservation back in January through Open table. When we showed to the restaurant today foe Easter Brunch. We we're told all reservations where canceled in March and they notified us. Several people were there with the same situation. I questioned how we were notified the hostess stated open table sent you a message which no one received. The hostess was rude and said there was nothing they can do. I asked for a manager no one ever came. We attended a family member's wedding here on 9/30 and my elderly mom wants to give her thanks to Susan, a staff member who was so kind and attentive to her throughout the evening. My mom uses a walker and Susan made sure she was safe, comfortable and had everything she needed, even helping her get safely into the shuttle at the end of the night. Even though The Milleridge Inn is a true staple of Long Island, it just didn't keep up with times. The rustic look and feel of the place is nice, but some restorations are def needed. My fiancé and I went on a Saturday night 8pm reservation, we were basically the only people there besides an old drunk guy. Our waitress, Jaimi, was phenomenal, very attentive and kind. The food was OK- it wasn't terrible and it wasn't great. The menu is pretty limited, which had me believing anything off it would be out of this world but that wasn't the case at all. I wouldn't go back for dinner unless it was Christmas time because the way they do decorations is literally breath taking. Christmas at the Milleridge brings a tear to my eye every year. read more

We attended Breakfast with Santa for a second time this past Sunday. There were 6 of us including my two grandchildren now 4 and 8. We arrived almost an hour early since the traffic was light. They were able to accommodate us and set us in the circular dining room as I had requested. The day was sunny and the room is full of light and has a view of the garden and roaming peacocks. It is such a nice place to sit. The buffet was similar to last year. Plenty of food and absolutely no waiting. The food is pretty standard but is fine for this kind of event. There was no wait to see Santa. The kids went twice. The balloon making had a reasonable wait. No face painting this year which is just as well since that took forever. Our severer was very efficient and friendly. I still think they should be clear that tips are not included. I see many people leaving without tipping. After breakfast we went to the Christmas Village. Nice shops and plenty of photo opportunities. We come out from Manhattan and it's worth it. read more

We arrived really early for our reseveration and they seated us in just a few minutes. The restaraunt was decorated beautifully for the holidays . The lobster tacos and gorgonzola bread were delicous. The crab cakes were awful. The french onion could have used some more cheese but the broth was perfect. My daughter and I got the skirt steak. It was truly disgusting. The creamed spinach that came with it was very good but it was soup In fact had I purchased as a bowl of cream of spinach soup I would have written that a rave review. My husband had the short ribs. They were ok nothing spectacular. My daughter and I got the layer cake for dessert. It tasted like sugar. My husband got hte cheesecake. It was ok. I never expect an extraordinary dining experince at Milleridge but this time was the worst ever. My family and I visited on the 26th of June for Sunday brunch. The food was good, and our table was toward the back in an well air conditioned room. Where the brunch buffet was located however, was in a large room toward the front of the building. On a day when it was 88 degrees, there was no air what's so ever, and the doors were open to let the hot heat in. During one of our trips into this room, the manager or supervisor or whatever she is was having a heated conversation with some of the young female staff that was serving the brunch. I overheard the conversation, and heard the young waitresses claiming that the supervisor wanted them to take their break and eat their food in the basement....which the girls were claiming was even hotter then the room they were currently in. Which by the way, the thermostat on the wall in the room read 91 degrees.....are you kidding? The staff was dressed in long black attire form head to toe. The supervisor remarked that if the staff had a grievance they wish to air out, they could call and talk to someone else about it. To which a member of the staff responded with asking for the number, before the supervisor decided to storm out of the room. I didn't see the supervisor again for another 15 to 20 minutes, until she decided to air out yet another grievance, this time with another customer, maybe 15 feet from the table where me and my family were eating. This customer was having an issue with the way he was charged. His wife was celebrating her bridal shower in the front room, while him and his guy friends celebrated in the back room. A.k.a., offering this place a ton of business. My one star is dedicated to the amazing waitress Marianne, that waited on our table. She was extremely helpful, nice, considerate, and fast when waiting on my family's table. She too however, was not safe from the wrath of this so-called supervisor. While dealing with a second grievance of the customer with a pricing issue, Marianne attempted to step in to help resolve the situation considering she was doing most of the talking with the customer. The supervisor shot Marianne an extremely dirty look and told her she didn't need her help. The intended purpose of paying $70 per person for a Sunday brunch, was not to be within earshot and witness an HR disaster unfolding before our very eyes. I'm not sure if the owners, or those in charge of this establishment ever take the time to look at their yelp reviews. It is the cutest village all year round. They decorate seasonally. Absolutely beautiful each season specially during the holidays. During the summer they have car shows on Wednesdays. The bakery is simple but delicious. The cafe across now has an expanded menu too. read more

Don't know what happened but not the Milleridge inn I remember. First we made a reservation for 6 people on the 27th of December, when we wanted to make it 7 they said we can't add 1 more seat sorry booked solid, well we get there and half the tables are empty and they never filled up. Then we wait nearly 20 minutes for a server. Next we are about to order and she says well we're out of Steaks, meatloaf and a few other entrees. It gets worse no bread have to call the girl with popovers to give us some and wait another 35 minutes for dinner, and it's cold. The worst food and service we've ever seen from them. Disappointed. I went to the inn for Sunday brunch a few years ago and remembered it being so much better. I recall there being more selection of food including lobster tails and others options the last time. Being it's a buffet I would recommend going early when food is fresh and hot. The later seating not a good option. Food is subpar. This place still and always will have the history and "charm". read more

Just back from Christmas dinner. Place is beautiful and that's the sell. We're here three years ago and seemed much better back then. Place was so hot. Begging the waitress to do anything but nothing. Almost unbearable. Had to flag waitress for water refills or they would never have come by. Food was ok at best. My pork buried in sauce. Steak was ok at best. Beautiful place but don't come for food or service. Many better options. Very disappointed. read more

Went to The Milleridge Inn today for a business Holiday Luncheon. As always, the inn was decorated so pretty for the Christmas holiday. The food was great. Went into the Milleridge Village after, just as festive. Had to take home a loaf of their famous Cinnamon Rolls from their bakery. Highly recommend going there, especially for a family or holiday gathering. read more

Wow the food and service has gone from ok 5 years ago to just really bad at this point. dont eat here . The margarita i ordered was clearly from a cheap mix. The pot roast was dry and tasteless. the sauerbr aten was also dry and tasted like it was left out too long. Then to top off the horrible meal the bill got screwed up and my card was mis charged. after many calls to the milleridge inn and their parent company with no calls returned i got no help . Terrible experience. 1) Wait Time- had a 3:45 reservation, I didn't get seated until 4:15. Hostess said she called us but she didnt. We were standing in front and they knew we were there. 2) Food A- We ordered food and in less than 4 minutes, our food was on the table. Clearly it is not made to order. 3) Food B- The salmon looked like it was deep fried numerous times. Hard on the outside and dry on the inside. Had to send it back. Sauerbraten was decent, but not hot. Probably because they have it already made and it's sitting in the kitchen. Getting cold. 4) Atmosphere- We heard it was fun during the holidays and the carolers were a nice touch, but a family next to us was causing a scene. A family of 5 with two young kids were dressed in PJs and Slippers during dinner. The kids were sitting on the floor opening gifts. Not only did they open the gifts, but they were playing with cars and dolls IN THE MIDDLE of the restaurant. Customers were looking, whispering and clearly annoyed. 1 table said something to waiter, but the restaurant did nothing. After 30+ years of patronizing this place, we are DONE! Planned a surprise birthday party for my wife, paid a $500 deposit, as expected. However, we ran into a serious problem that resulted in us having to cancel. I explained this to the planner, acknowledging the contract stipulations. She dragged her feet in responding for weeks, but FINALLY acknowledged me and said she would inform Accounting. They then dragged their feet for almost a month, causing me to escalate this to the owners at DOVER BEVERAGE SERVICES, INC. The FINALLY responded to let me know that I am basically screwed out of our $500!!! Done with this place for good and not a huge loss as the service and quality has tanked anyway!
