Service (4/5): Understanding that the restaurant was extremely busy this day, we did not get the best service. They forgot to give us the table bread which we had to ask for after our appetizers came. They knew we were sharing everything so it was nice that they had pre-sliced everything and provided us sharing plates during the meal. Food (4/5): This is review is specific for their Mother's Day fixed prix menu ($125/pp which btw is $115 for Father's day 2026). Sad to say overall, the price point was not worth the food we received, as it was way overpriced. Potato bread (6/5): This is one of the best table bread I've ever had--the softness and flavors are so good that I would sacrifice stomach space for 5 servings of this! Use the leftover butter for your steaks! Blue Point Oysters (5/5): Super fresh! Delicious Lobster shrimp wontons (4/5): Wonderful presentation just okay on flavor. Lukewarm upon serving. Red Roof Roll (4/5): The portion of fish was pretty generous! Tasted fresh as well. They were out of the 38oz porterhouse for 2 by 7p. New York Strip Steak (4/5): Cooked as requested, however not enough fat to make it melt in your mouth as the cuts were a bit too tough. The dry aged taste was great. Filet Mignon (4/5): I don't think this piece was as good as I remember. It needed their house steak sauce to give the dish any flavor. Pork Tenderloin with Carrot Puree sauce (2/5): Each piece was tough, not much flavor to it, carrot sauce did not give it any more flavor. Scottish Salmon (5/5): This was my favorite dish of the 4; it was juicy and had lots of flavor to the butter sauce. Crème Brule and cheesecake were wonderful. Amazing views. Great staff. Delicious food. What more can you ask for? I absolutely loved this restaurant but I love any location on the water. The food was really good, everything from their sushi rolls, to entrees, appetizers and sides. We did skip on dessert because we were absolutely stuffed but I am sure it would have been great. I highly recommend sitting outside if the weather allows it because it made the experience that much better. 10/10 and I will be back here the next time I am in NY. read more

Had a disappointing experience at Prime for lunch. My wife ordered her steak medium well and it came out burnt. It was so beyond well done that it was inedible. It took the waiter 20 minutes to come by after we got our meal to check in on us, so by the time we were able to say anything we had to go and couldn't stay for the steak to be redone. Then after mentioning we had to go because we were late for an appointment, the waiter still took 10 minutes to bring the check. We ended up having to go up to the front to pay the bill. The manager took the steak off the check after seeing it, but for an $80 filet, the steak should be cooked to the proper temperature the first time. Also, I would have ordered another drink with my meal if I had the chance, but the waiter didn't come by and ask until well after I finished my meal. read more

The service is always fantastic (9.8/10), the staff is very attentive and friendly. The view is lovely (9.5/10) as the restaurant sits on the sound with lots of boats that dock in this area. The food was okay (7.5/10) I had the iceberg wedge as my starter (9/10), next we shared a porterhouse for 2 (6/10) which could have used a bit more seasoning, thank goodness it came with a house made steak sauce which was DELICIOUS (I hated to use it because the meat's flavor should stand alone). I also had asparagus that was over cooked (5/10) and Mac n cheese that was very creamy (8/10). We ended dinner with the 7-layer chocolate cake from Juniors (10/10). read more

Had a delicious Monday night dinner for Long Island restaurant week. We were sat near a beautiful fireplace. The ambience was amazing and it must be a great spot in the summer. My boyfriend ordered the spicy roll, filet mignon, and creme brulee. He said everything was good, but the steak had too much peppercorn seasoning on the outside which made it tough to enjoy the flavor. I got the gnocchi, a vegetarian butternut squash entree and a pear apple crumble. I enjoyed the gnocchi immensely as well as the crumble. Stopped going to this place years ago since the service and food was not at all worth the price. Decided to give it another chance for our anniversary and sadly nothing has changed. Steak was burnt literally to a crisp with charcoaled edges when ordered medium well. We used to love Prime but after 2 disappointing dinners, we are never going back. My husband ordered a rib-eye--Rare. It came medium well and the waiter tried to convince him that it really was rare--there was no pink. Finally, a manager came over and agreed so they cooked him another steak. We had a reservation at 9:30 on New Year's Eve. We waited about a half hour before we were seated. We were seated out back in the glass room. It looks like this room would be open doors in the nicer weather. The outside was lit up very nicely and everyone was very friendly. The wait staff was amazing and very accommodating. There was a big thunder and lightning storm with torrential rain. The room started to leak from the doors across the floors. There were also a number of leaks coming from the ceiling. The table next to us got soaked due to a leak right over their table. The food was good. The ambiance was nice until the water started rushing in from the floors and the ceiling. For the amount of money charged for this night, we thought we would at the very least be dry. We would like to try it again another time of year and with no rain. Came for lunch with 3 of us. Two meals were fine, but the 3rd steak was ordered Medium Rare and was very well done. The waiter was very good, noticed and apologized immediately and offered to replace it or change the entree out. We declined, as it had taken nearly 40 minutes to get our lunch at that point. The manager then came out and said she wished we had sent it back earlier. It was sent back immediately after the waiter dropped and came back to check on us; my fellow diner had eaten a piece or so, I was two bites into my burger. When we explained it had gone back immediately, she said there were only 4 pieces of steak left. At that point, I was surprised she could stand there, with her pants aflame, like that. If her pants had actually been on fire, instead of only metaphorically, I don't know that I'd have gone out of my way to procure water. Unnecessarily rude, and wildly inappropriate at this price point. Didn't complain about it at the time, but the table was also dirty; shoe print on my tablecloth, not super appetizing. This was my second and final visit. Hard pass. Lots of other better choices in the area. read more

Came here to celebrate my girlfriend and my bday. We sat outside and the weather was alright. A little muggy / breezy and it rained a bit as well. Def recommend to sit indoors for lunch during the summer and outdoors for dinner. All in all it was a nice romantic vibe. It consisted of crabmeat salad, lobster salad, some home made chips, sides of egg whites, egg yolks, caviar and half a bottle of champagne. I waited a day or two so my review would be more tempered. MY party had 7 people . It was my daughter's college graduation so it's a reason to celebrate Good food and ambiance. Water side view can not be beaten. Food was as expected. We had the lamb, a porterhouse , and some of us had the power lunch special. Crab cake was exceptional. However the service as spotty and often lacking. It's not from a shortage as it was well staffed. Plenty of wait staff running around. At various junctures, the service was no where to be found. No one asked if we wanted more drinks. No one checked how our lamb or steak came out. our table was cleared half way and then the staff disappeared again. We had to physically track down our waiter to get the table cleared so we can order dessert. At this point - we simply surrendered . We just wanted to get out. I will never come back again. The food is not so exceptional that I can't find another Long Island location with a water view. I have had business dinners there before and usually left with a great impression. Decided to check out Prime during lunch and it was fabulous. We chose to sit outside and enjoyed the $29 pre fixe lunch that they offer during the week. Our waiter was attentive and the ambiance was perfect. Was nervous about bringing our kids but they enjoyed themselves and it was a bit more laid back outside (and also not busy). Stopped by prime with my fiancé to tour it as a venue for a wedding reception. Staff was amazing and the venue looks really nice! We decided to stay for dinner. It was a Sunday evening and they were able to accommodate us. We decided to try some of the meals that would be served as the ceremony. The waiter saw us looking through the event menu and he gave us a lot of tips / information. They also gave us complimentary apps to try from the menu. The bread they have? Omg absolutely delicious. We tried their gnocchi and wontons, both very delicious. For meals, we tried the NY strip, and their artic char with sides of mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. They were all so delicious. We had so much food that we had to take some of it home. The food as leftovers? Even better! It's definitely a bit on the pricer side, but as a nice / special date, 10/10 recommend. After having a baby, this was the first time my husband and I decided to go out for a meal together. We chose lunch at Prime because we figured we would get a great meal and it would be empty. It was in fact, very empty when we arrived for our 1:30pm reservation. We placed our order at 1:40pm (looking at my photos for time stamps) and didn't actually receive it until 2:45pm. I ordered a chicken dish and my husband ordered a burger. There was no follow up in that time frame letting us know it would take so long. I still don't understand how what we ordered took a full hour to get to the table. The burger was average and my roasted half chicken dish was just ok. We shared the crème brûlée which was good. My husband had asked for another drink but it never arrived. Overall, just was not impressed or happy with the experience and am pretty disappointed. read more

4.5 Stars TLDR; amazing atmosphere and vibes (especially with their outdoor seating at sunset!!), food itself was pretty good but the steaks weren't spectacular, just average if anything. My friends and I came for my birthday dinner on a Saturday night and thankfully I made a reservation cause it was packed! There's a parking lot in front but also more space across the street. The restaurant itself is huge with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. Even with the outdoor seating, there's a portion that's still covered by an awning. We were seated outdoors and I was initially wary cause it was a bit hot but by the time dinner ended, the temperature outside was perfect and we got to see a beautiful sunset while we dined. I was originally intrigued by the restaurant because of its location by the water and the views did not disappoint. As for the food, the waiter asked if we wanted some bread to start, which we had all assumed was complimentary bread but it turned out to be the sesame potato bread from the menu. It came with truffle butter and was warm and delicious but wish it was made clear that we were to pay for it, not that it was a big deal since it was only $5 a loaf. It was also so incredibly fluffy and soft, and the butter spreads on so nicely that I'd still recommend getting it! We ordered several items to share for both appetizers and entrees so going to share my opinions below: Appetizers: - Soft shell crab: such a small piece but it was fried well and had a bit of chili oil around it that added a nice spice. - Crab cocktail: big chunky pieces of crab, light and refreshing. - Tagliatelle: it was advertised as cacio e pepe with truffle. I think we were all shocked that it had corn in it cause I've never had corn in my pastas but it was alright. Portion wasn't big and it had a decent amount of truffle shavings. Flavor didn't really stand out. - Crab cake: good chunks of crabmeat and the top and bottom were seared really well. Probably my favorite appetizer of them all. - We also got the shrimp tornado roll and triple spicy roll. Both were pretty good, not amazing sushi but also not terrible for an American restaurant. Entrees: - Porterhouse for 2: big chunky meats, decently tender but not melt in the mouth. Needed a sprinkle of salt or something, not much flavor to it. - Tellers Ribeye: Also big chunky meats, definitely has more fat as expected. Also not much flavor and not as tender as I expected ribeye to be. This was also supposed to be cooked medium (which yes, people don't usually ask for medium, I know) and it was definitely medium rare. - Wellington: a smaller cut of filet mignon but it was pretty good. It had a bit more flavor considering there were other factors that go into it. I thought beef wellingtons were supposed to have prosciutto? But I guess not all places make it with that. Sides: - Crispy brussels sprouts: I saw lots of pictures of this on Yelp so I had to try it and it was delicious! Loved the sweet chili glaze and the salty parmesan. - Roasted mushrooms: I typically love mushrooms and I wish I liked this more. It was just way too salty. - Creamed spinach: another must order side if it's on the menu for me. It was pretty good here, definitely creamy but also not special. - Mac and cheese: definitely cheesy and loved the cheese crust on top. They also gave a complimentary slice of chocolate cake and that was amazing. Chocolate cakes are my favorite and this was one of the best I've had! It was so rich and decadent, maybe a little too much for some but perfect for my sweet tooth. Wish I had the stomach space to finish it! Overall, I'd definitely recommend Prime for a special occasion. The ambience is so nice and the views are amazing. The service was also great and they gave me a $25 gift card to return. Although their prices are pretty high so that $25 won't cover much haha. The food is pretty good, some items can be touched up a bit. Location, location, location... it's a thing for restaurants to and Prime has it! Located right on the water, with views from just about all of the tables. There is heated patio seating, and tables right on the water when it's warm enough. The staff was super friendly from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. Joe even waited for me outside of the bathrooms to escort me to my party who had moved outside to the fire pit on the patio. I was incredibly impressed by the seafood selections at Prime. Everything tasted so clean and fresh. From raw shrimp and blue crab to the perfectly cooked medium rare petite fillet. Pro tip: get the sesame loaf! It's WELL worth the money. The texture and fluffiness of this bread and the butter it comes with is beyond delicious! I can see why Prime is a favorite of our family that lives in Huntington.. read more

Disappointing. Visited Prime today for wife's birthday dinner. Waited 30 minutes despite having a reservation. Served undercooked bread for $7. The Teller's Ribeye, the 'signature' steak was grizzly and undercooked. The creamed spinach was excellent! But the mashed potatoes and mac and cheese had no seasoning or flavor. The appetizers were good, and so was the service, the ambiance is and remains beautiful. We probably will not return. read more

I had this place on my list for awhile and finally made it there this past weekend for restaurant week. Thought it would be a good time in the off season. During restaurant week, they offer a special pre fixe menu for 3 courses for $46 with the optional $25 add on for a wine pairing with each course which makes sense to do since a glass is about $17. There are also enhancements for an additional cost that you can add to your second course or upgrades for an additional cost for your second course. for I ordered the caesar salad for my first course and my Fiancé got the gnocchi. Both were delicious. My salad was large for a first course, no complaints. The gnocchi was smaller in portion. It was lightly sauced. I upgraded my second course to the petite Filet and got it rare. It was cooked perfect. The Truffle whipped potatoes and carrots were a perfect compliment. My fiance got the roasted half chicken which came with honey cayenne glaze, grits, arugula with a bacon dressing. Definitely had a lot of bacon flavor. For our third courses, I got the creme brulee and my Fiancé got the triple chocolate sundae. The creme brulee was amazing. Perfect cream consistency. My fiance enjoyed his Sundae as well. We had the option of sitting on the covered patio area or inside. We chose the covered patio to have a nice outdoor view. I've dined here a few times and had Sunday brunch on one occasion. I have come to the conclusion that you go here for atmosphere, not the quality of the food. Nobody at our table was thrilled with their meal , and this was on several occasions. I won't go into details, but for what you pay, and for how small the serving is, there are 15 better restaurants in Huntington. Again, on a nice day, sitting by the water is nice, and the place looks great, and the private restrooms are nice and clean, but if you really want a flavorful meal , look elsewhere . Im giving the atmosphere 5 stars and the food 2 stars. The waiter was very good. Not sure if I come back again. Had an early dinner res (before 6p) - requested outdoor seating and it ended up being a 90+ deg day. We were directed to a seat on the water that has full sun and we asked to sit on the shaded patio, instead, but were told that's a diff type of res & fully booked...we settled for indoor. as the evening progressed, every entering party on the patio asked to be seated inside - we left by 730 p and the restaurant (patio and indoor dining room) were nowhere near full. Parked in the adjacent lot b/c we had an early res. There's more parking across the street (maybe valet) Food was good, not particular outstanding. Service was also good, provided the waiter misheard my order of "filet mignon frites" for "filet mignon". He took off our drinks as compensation.
