We have tried ALL of their other South Florida locations several times and have had wonderful meals and service. Today, in anticipation of another great dining experience, we arrived only to find out after parking and entering, that they were hosting an event and could not serve us. There was no mention on line, nor notice posted physically at the business that they were closed to the public for the event. Came here to celebrate a special occasion. Spot is on point on decoration. So cute, has the coolest silverware and glassware for tea parties. I got the toast flight, delicious. My favorite was the mexican style (if you can't eat spice, ask for no chili flakes). The sourdough was amazing, crunchyy!! Service was weird? Our order was taken by a blonde server. Our food arrived, we were happy but nobody came and checked on us? We had to ask the barista for another dish because we didn't know where our server was? We got the food. I was visiting town for work and was looking for a place to get a Matcha latte. This place was close by and had high ratings on yelp so I decided to give it a try. I walked in and it was buzzing. They asked if I wanted to dine in or take out. If I wasn't going to meet a friend for lunch, I would've totally dined in. I ordered my Matcha latte with coconut milk and it was tasty. Very cool, eclectic spot with great coffee. Service was quick for a Sunday brunch. The tiramisu latte was incredible, from the smoothness of the mascarpone cold foam to the perfectly balanced syrup. This place was super cute. Like being in Alice in Wonderland! Do be forewarned that they don't have a liquor license which is a bummer because champagne would be a killer option here. The drink menu is long and robust though for n not having any ETOH. Recommend the tea flight and really any of the blended coffee drinks. The turkey pesto sandwich was finger licking good and the only thing of a flatbread with fruit and maple syrup was a drizzle of syrup on the board. My friend wanted to come here. I've been to the Deerfield location and when they were located in Delray Market a few times. The Avocado Toast, pastries, and coffees are all fabulous. It's been awhile since my last visit and this was a total wow. We were getting our order to go but the ambience and seating looks so inviting we decided we need to come back. Service is super friendly. We ordered the Avocado Toast Flight and a Joburg Jam. All of the avocado toasts were great. I had only had the Modern Avocado Toast before but now I think my favorite is the Venetian or Just Keep Swimming. The Joburg Jam was yummy however the croissant was a tad burnt. We got Almond Joy and Bumblebee Lattes. I thought the Almond Joy was too sweet but the Bumblebee was perfect. The only downside here is the parking. The lot is small and certain spots are reserved for other stores there. If we are lucky enough to get parking we will be back to enjoy sitting inside. read more

i hate to give unstellar reviews but this is the second time we have been there and i left this time feeling simularly; meh. The ambience is charming; flowers teacups little bags everywhere. i liked our server even though she was new: she really tried to accommodate. i got the smoked salmon on ezekiel bread and i was promised onion which never came. for some reason they had some onion but couldn't use them. our server even said how can you have salmon without it. My husband didn't like the food last year and i thought we'd try again. if you like a teatime atmosphere and don't emphasize the food you may want to go. i will visit other places. read more

My wife and I walked in with zero expectations, and suddenly we're sitting there at brunch like, "Wait... why is everything hitting this hard?" The coffee flight? A whole journey. The avocado toast? Celebrity behavior. The sandwiches? Gone before we even realized we started eating. We left full, yet somehow craving more -- which feels medically questionable but spiritually correct. Inside, the vibe is cool, trendy, and low‑key Instagram‑bait. Service? On point from start to finish. The only downside is the parking, which is basically a myth. You'll be circling the neighborhood like you're in a live‑action scavenger hunt. But once you're inside, you forget all about the parking trauma. Bottom line: must‑do spot. I had requested almond milk in my coffee but it turned out it was oat milk but it was good. On most given weekday mornings you will find a line outside The Modern Rose, leading one to believe this place must have phenomenal food. The reality is this is what happens when there are really limited options for an actual brunch in a tourist mecca. The restaurant itself is a cute as can be. And I really do think they try. But every time I have gone there has always been something not correct with my order. It's the reason I've avoided writing a review up until now. I keep hoping/wanting/wishing for it to get better. Today the issue was that (1) I ordered avocado toasts SANS the everything bagel seasoning and it came with the seasoning. (2) I asked for my eggs to be soft; they weren't. (3) My friend tried ordering an omelet and for some reason while they could make eggs, they could not make an omelet. The waiter suggested scrambled so she ordered that with cheese and it came with no cheese. Never once were we asked if we wanted more coffee or tea. The food itself was fine. Just fine. Personally, while I'm not generally a huge fan of The Office in Delray Beach, they do a killer avocado toast, and I'll just be sticking with that in the future. read more

Hidden gem alert! When in Delray Beach, be sure to visit The Modern Rose. We found it by accident when staying at the Coyrtyard Marriott and are we glad we did. The menu is beautiful with coffee, tea and boba flights among other creative hot and cold drinks. They offer fantastic breakfast and brunch items in sweet and savory, and plenty of options for all dietary needs. Very impressed with the variety of avocado toasts. The dining room is beautifully decorated and very Instagram worthy. The service was very good and we left eager to return. My husband is still talking about his warm croissant with brie, blueberries and honey. A magical experience! read more

A wonderful find in the area. Charming Tea Room vibe with a great all day menu. I did have a wonderful salad the first time . The portions are large and everything fresh! The next time we shared a few of the special dishes! The pistachio chocolate Latte was outrageous!! First and foremost I wanted to say I am all about attention to details and this place does not miss. The ambiance is top tier ! This location is less than a month old so and I understand situations and things of that nature so to begin my review I walked in around 1:45 pm late brunch on a Sunday. Never have I been to any other locations so immediately seeing that the atmosphere and decorations and time put into this was very methodical. I thought there is a reason why they are expanding locations...I like the feel of walking into someone's home very similar FEEL to Dada in Delray but way BETTER and in no way am I comparing the settings just the feeling I felt upon entering ! The seating was unique and comfy which is great for brunch and I sat in the far right room in case you were wondering. The food was great and tasted amazing not to mention the presentation was matching the vibesss. The placed was slammed when we first walked in and seems like we entered when the rush was over because after we ordered a lot of people were finishing. For some reason the drinks and food were a bit slower than just expected and we were only a party of 2. The drinks did not come out together and nor did the meals which was odd to us but we understand the place just recently opened. We had 1 server take our order but then what seemed to be a manager was frequently checking on us and assisting the server and finished taking our order. I can say they did a great job of customer service which honestly combated for the slow service but I have faith that this place will only get better and work out these early kinks. read more

Amazing from the first time you walk in the door until you leave! It's my favorite breakfast spot!!!

We were meeting some friends from out of town so I suggested here! I had never been and I wanted to try it. The place is adorable and the food was good but not great. I ended up getting two eggs because every other item was a bit complicated and I didn't want all of the ingredients that were in each item! Someone got the pancakes and loved them; I enjoyed the coffee and the booths were really adorable. Everyone liked their dishes but I think this place is more known for its atmosphere! So I was going up to Delray from Pompano Beach to pick something up. I told my wife we can't go up there to Delray without going to one of their many terrific restaurants. We wanted to go to a place that we don't have in Pompano. We didn't want standard diner, Italian food etc. So I checked Yelp and found The Modern Rose. There is nothing like this place in Southern Florida. Cute,quaint charming eclectic with food you don't see elsewhere. The owner and her daughter were most gracious and accommodating. Very, very pretty decor. Parking is terrible. We arrived at 1:15 PM and waited about one hour to get our meal. I know there was a big party in the back so that might've slowed it down but when the food finally came, it was not hot. we did not send it back because we were hungry and we wanted to eat also when they took our beverage order they wanted to know if we wanted either a small or medium coffee. To me that meant that no refills plus you had to pay for any milk or creamer that you added to the coffee I never ever heard of this. I doubt if we would go back and we were seven women on a birthday celebration. They did provide a piece of cake free of charge for the birthday girl. Decorated in mind for influencers and beautiful photos although the tables could use an upgrade or table cloths to make the amazingly presented food/drinks pop a bit more. The service was very good, the servers were on the move constantly. The avocado toast flight was excellent with an amazing variety of toppings. The boba tea flight was amazing, full of different flavors and pairings. We only wish they had some alcohol offerings. A mimosa would have paired well! Overall I highly recommend trying this restaurant. Parking is a bit of a mess, but we found a lot around the corner for 5$/hour. Wow, I absolutely loved this place! There's parking out front, and if that lot is full, there's a parking lot right next store. This restaurant is decorated so cute. But that isn't anything, the food was just so delicious! Very big menu, tough to choose! Lots of different coffees and teas. I had the tiramisu coffee. I was a little uncertain about it because I'm not crazy about overly sweet coffees, but this was absolutely perfect. Really delicious, not too sweet, just right. Then I got the avocado toast with an egg, bacon and mozzarella cheese. OMG yum!!! Everything about it was perfect. Super fresh, high-quality ingredients. Crispy bacon, perfectly cooked egg. Really just delicious. I got one piece and that was plenty. 2 would've been way too much. I did get a side salad and that was a nice amount. The side salad was also very good quality, tomatoes in there were delicious and the dressing was some kind of strawberry vinaigrette. Very very tasty. Service was very friendly. I will say it took quite a while for my food to come out and it was not very busy, but I guess if you're making quality food it takes a little while. It was also not cheap.
