    32. Tofu Pho

It's impossible to find parking in Ballard on a Friday night, but Monkey Bridge has its own parking lot. I got there at 6:30 PM on Friday night, their last seating is at 7:30 PM, and the place sure filled up after I got there. I got an absolutely delightful tofu pho which came out quickly. When they wrapped up my leftovers to go, they thoughtfully separated the broth from the noodles so that the noodles wouldn't absorb all the broth overnight. Nice touch!

Amazing pho! We went at noon on Sunday with no wait, but the restaurant was packed by 1. I will say the inside is small and was FREEZING, but I assume it got warmer as the day went on. The beef pho was incredibly flavorful and the tofu pho broth was delicious- sweet onion. The best umami and sweet broth's. The waiters were super nice and quick. I recommend for a warm, cozy, quality meal.

Nice staff, easy to get a seat on a Saturday evening. Great bun bo hue with good meat - not rubbery or dry.

Amazing service and great portion sizes!! My partner wanted to try something new and loved the catfish rice dish! I got the large beef pho and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff packed up our leftovers and even offered fresh bean sprouts to go.

The vegetarian pho was very very good. The broth was flavorful, which is not always the case with veggie pho. The crispy fried tofu was also excellent. The service was a bit slow for the number of people but we weren't in a hurry and the food came out really quick all together. The ambiance was soothing with a little fountain in the front and some nice windows and plants. Would def come back for the veggie pho and my friend liked her beef pho a lot.

Great little spot! Decided to dine in tonight since it was freezing out and we were feeling some hot soup. We got the Monkey Noodle Soup, pork banh mi, and traditional cabbage salad. All were excellent and service was quick. The egg noodles in the soup were maybe the best I've had! You have a choice of egg noodle or rice noodle and our server recommended the egg. The pork in the banh mi was flavorful and a little saucy which was nice. Cabbage salad was very filling and the cabbage was finely shredded. Better than I expected! Also got a glass of wine which was a large pour. Both hubby and I were impressed (he's hard to please lol) and we devoured the food. Definitely recommend if you're looking for Vietnamese food in Ballard.

Delicious; so much more than pho

Delicious: so much more than pho. Subtle layers of flavor. Good portions and nice ambience

Food was great! Quite an experience, actually. Very unique, flavorful, super fresh, quickly delivered, a large amount of sides. The four stars because the whole place was freezing cold! We had to keep are coats on. That made the whole staying there and enjoying the meal less of a pleasure. Parking is ok. Position is quite central, so, you may have to walk a bit. Service was great. Did not get tons of attention, but we didn't miss anything while dining in. Great Thai option!

    Tofu pho (large; vegan)

Perfectly serviceable vegetarian pho but pretty middle-of-the-road with nothing to set it apart. I stopped in looking for a filling meal, as I saw they had some vegan options. They have a tofu pho ($14.75 for a small; $15.75 for a large, plus tax). I got the large, which came out in under 10 minutes. You get a massive bowl, with plenty of well-cooked thin rice noodles, lots of fried tofu, and veggies (broccoli, bok choy, green cabbage, onion). The broth is onion-based and pretty good -- not too salty or oily, with moderate depth/complexity. It is amped up nicely by their homemade chili oil. Nothing special, but perfectly fine. Filling, well-priced and good service. Probably a slight step above nearby Than Brothers in terms of the veggie pho. Decent spot for Vietnamese in Ballard.

I have to say I am super disappointed after eating here! Just moved to the neighborhood and am on a mission to find the best pho spot. I had a few folks recommend this spot and am wondering if they have new management or something? Getting right to the point- the BROTH. Zero flavor. As a weekly pho eater, I was so sad eating this. Secondly- they don't offer tendon. That's an immediate no from me- I need a spot that has all of the fixings. Overall, this spot is way overpriced and not worth going to if you want flavorful and authentic pho options. I want to come back and try other offerings to see if they have a superpower elsewhere. I will say the service was great and the ladies were kind and attentive!

The pork Banh mi was 10/10 very good. The meat is on the sweeter side if you enjoy that (I do) I would definitely come back for it. You should get that if you come here. It also comes with some tasty cháo (viet congee) The pho broth was quite bland (imo), I couldn't taste any beef, no aromatics, and it was too sweet. In fact, im impressed. I've never had pho be too sweet in my life and I have gained a new life experience today. still it had good meat and good portions though. BF was ok with it though, described it "light and sweet" The iced viet coffee was absolutely terrible tho, 10/10 do not recommend. It was very creamy which I enjoy but the coffee tasted not as strong as I would expect for viet coffee and it was so sweet neither me nor my bf could drink more than 2 sips. (Sry for the half eaten photo)

One of the best banh mis I've had in Seattle! Ordered a pork banh mi to go & I loved the meant, the sauce and the bread - it was delicious! The only complaint I have is that the pork wasn't charcoal grilled, but it's still so yummy. The staff was nice but since I only got takeouts, I can't comment on the dine in experience - although id say I like the set up of the restaurant.

My girlfriend and I were just walking along the strip on Market Street and this quaint restaurant caught our attention with it's imaginative name. We decided we had to give it a try! I fully admit that one of the aspects catching my attention was simply .. real menus. Going to a restaurant is more than just the food, it's about the collective experience. I loved having the feel of actual quality menus in my hand instead of the paper or bar code menus provided during these covid times. This coupled with an absolutely adorable ambiance really added to the experience. I feel like they could have added just a touch more by piping in some asian themed music (there was no music playing at all) but that's just my $.02 worth. The sauce for the spring roll *really* popped, so good! We both also appreciated the ease of finding delicious vegan choices. This restaurant was a total *win* and we'd happily go back again when in the area.

Each visit left me feeling like I had wasted both my time and money. I've had both the Pho Dac Biet and Pho Saté, and each broth fell short for different reasons. The noodles were oddly overcooked and clumped together in both bowls. While the presentation is appealing, the flavors lack depth and both dishes were noticeably oily. The meat portions were sparse, and the pricing does not justify the quality or quantity of the food. There are simply too many better pho options in the area at this price point.

We got the banh uot tower with heo quay, banh khot, banh mi chao, and com tam. I see the appeal of the eye catching banh uot tower, but unfortunately I felt like it was very mediocre. I felt like the portion of veggie and meat wasn't enough for all the rice rolls, plus the actual heo quay was dry with barely any crispy skin. I think they also forgot to give us the heo quay because we had to ask for it much after the banh uot came out. I would skip this next time. I would also skip the banh khot as it was on the softer, chewier side when my personal preference is light and crispy. Those who do like it soft will definitely enjoy it though. As for flavor, it had an extremely prominent coconut taste- it usually isn't so strong in banh khot so I wasn't so fond of this. My family did really enjoy the com tam and banh mi chao. I only had one bite of each, but I would get these items again. Their drinks on the other hand, were delightful. I got the tamarind black tea and my step dad got the lychee green tea. Both were super refreshing and even addicting. I think they tend to do sweet items better, including their rice crispy treats that they sell on the front counter. Service: (4/5) The service here didn't really stand out much but I didn't pay much mind to it. They were very nice but there was a sense of disorganization, mostly due to us not being acknowledged when we first walked in and having some of our food forgotten about.
