This place didn't do it for me! My butter masala was overpowered with cardamom and clove and didn't really taste anything like butter chicken. One piece was pretty chewy and I had to spit it out. We also had a poor experience with ordering drinks. They had the breakfast drink menu out on every table (I guess a breakfast place takes over in the morning). I asked if they had a dinner menu and she walked me over to their bar and asked what I wanted from there. I got served what I wanted. When my sister in law got there and tried to over something, she only saw the breakfast bar menu and tried to order a screwdriver. The waitress said we don't have that. There were beers listed on the bottom, so she asked for a blue moon. The waitress said they only have bud light, so she just skipped all together. I did not expect what a gem this place is. It's become highly recommended from one visit, yes one visit, for many reasons. We came for the Indian fusion foods (amazing) but were introduced to the essence of small business pride with the owner giving a personal touch to all his guests. His story, if he shares it, inspires having a dream and bringing it to fruition from hard work and not compromising. I love establishments like this!!!!! The foodies here are cook to order, teas are made fresh as well! We ordered a variety of appetizers, entrees at various degrees of spicy and every single thing was packed with unique flavor explosions. There will be an entree for anyone's taste. Unfortunately, our experience at Monk's Indian Fusion Cuisine & Bar was disappointing. We ordered Tandoori Chicken and Hakka Noodles as our entrées, along with Samosa and Pakora as appetizers. About 12 minutes after placing our order, the waitress informed us that they were out of Tandoori Chicken, which is one of their signature menu items. I had to choose a replacement entrée instead. The service issues continued from there. After waiting 15 minutes, only the Samosa arrived; the Pakora was missing. Another 15 minutes passed before the Pakora finally came out. When the entrées arrived, only my replacement dish was served. The Hakka Noodles never came. We waited and waited, and the noodles were finally brought to the table after we had already finished our meal. What made the experience more frustrating was that the restaurant was not busy at all. Including our table, there were only about three tables occupied. My wife mentioned that she had a similar experience during a previous visit with friends, where there was only one waitress handling the entire dining room, and it appeared to be the same situation this time. The food itself was okay, but the poor service and lack of coordination made it difficult to enjoy the meal. On our way out, we noticed two DoorDash drivers who had been waiting around 30 minutes for their pickup orders. Overall, the restaurant seems understaffed and disorganized. Another interesting restaurant. We were greeted immediately when we arrived by a smiling hostess. You can choose their buffet or order from the menu. We chose the buffet. The buffet is a little clunky, but very easy to read the dishes in the bright light. A few dishes I tried: Goat Biryon, Chicken Vindaloo, Chili Garlic Noodles, Goat Chettinad. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Chicken Butter Masala off the extensive menu. Both were delicious but could have benefitted from more Chicken as it was pretty sparse. We also had the garlic naan and the butter naan which were both perfectly crispy and flavorful. The menu features both Indian and Chinese cuisine - sense the "Fusion" in their name. The food was excellent and the menu was large. There were a lot of unique and interesting options to choose from. The ingredients tasted really fresh. We tried the veggie samosas, chicken momos tandoori style, butter masala, and spicy masala noodles. The noodle portion was GIANT. I would say the butter masala portion was more normal size. The restaurant is well lit and spacious with lots of seating. My one complaint is that while we were seated quickly, had our order taken quickly, and had our food arrive quickly after ordering.... We were stuck waiting for the check and boxes for a long time and ran out of water during the meal but no one came by to refill it. Stopped by here on a whim since we noticed it was new in the area. The food was outstanding with familiar flavors that had a creative twist. The wok-tossed Hakka noodles, in particular, stood out. Not your typical noodle dish, but in the best way. The texture, the seasoning, the overall presentation--it was all just done differently in a way that totally worked. My sister and I drove a ways to try Monk's and it was well worth the gas mileage. Not wanting overordering (which is both my sister and I's toxic trait), we solicited some advice from our waitress, Siri. She was more than enthusiastic about sharing her recommendations. We ordered the Goat Vindaloo with buttered tandoori rotti and garlic naan. For drinks, we got their mango lassi and Masala chai (iced). We enjoyed the Masala chai so much, we ordered another one hot---no sugar needed since the flavors were so good. Being that this was out first real meal of the day, we also ordered the druns of heaven and HAD to stop ourselves from eating the whole appetizer so we can make room for the entré. In the end, with Yukta's recommendation, my sister and I finished up with the Shahi Tukda. Everything was so delicious! The one star missing was for their lassi. Mother's Day Disaster - Bait-and-Switch Scam Artists This place should be ashamed of how they treat customers. We called ahead to confirm their Mother's Day buffet, and were told no reservation necessary -- plenty of space, buffet running until 2:30 PM. Based on that, my family and I drove 30 minutes to get there, excited to celebrate. We walked in at 2:15 PM and were coldly and unapologetically told that the buffet was done and only à la carte was available. There was no explanation, no empathy, no attempt to make it right--just a deadpan, take-it-or-leave-it attitude. This was a textbook bait-and-switch. They knew what they advertised. They knew what we called about. And they still intentionally misled us to get us in the door, then pulled the rug out. Not only was our time wasted, but they managed to completely sour what should have been a joyful Mother's Day meal. There's no excuse for this kind of behavior. It's dishonest, disgraceful, and frankly, disgusting. If you value honest service, don't give these people a single cent. Was looking for something different and this is certainly that. The ambiance is welcoming with upbeat music and naturescapes on the TV's. The food was phenomenal, with some of the best Naan I have had and entirely manageable spice at their medium level. The chicken was well cooked and filled with delicious spices. This review is based on the last two visits. First visit: Greeted quickly and seated promptly, a nicely decorated and clean restaurant. I got a noodle dish based on recommendations which was delicious. Although I wouldn't say it's any game changing dish, it felt a little too close to fast food feel. Still, it was a very large portion size. Didn't seem there was much protein however. Was also annoyed at the luke warm water they served and had to ask for ice to get filled. Overall would put it at 3-4/5. Second visit: They mentioned they had a buffet, however it seemed everything was empty. Was able to get some small bits here and there. They said the buffet is about to be refilled however no indication when that would be. The wait staff seems to not want to put any effort in assurance as I sit awkwardly with an empty plate. No communication furthermore so just had to go at whims to see what they filled. Gave up and just ate some rice and curry. Despite really wanting to try several other options. Two times it looks like naan got refilled, no indication from the staff, and they were quickly depleted by others before I could get a chance. This is almost a schoolyard lunch experience. Unlikely to return here again. Staff needs to work on communication. Also got Luke warm water again, couldn't bother to ask them to ice it since they seem keen on avoiding communication. $18 to eat a buffet with no options in a near empty restaurant! read more

Although not a name where Indian Restaurant immediately comes to mind this turned out to be great Indian food. I can't recall what my wife had, but I had a Spinach Lentil dish that was fantastic.
