One of our favorite Sunday lunch places for a number of years with old and new management. Saw they had a loaded baked potato with BBQ on the "Specials" board, but no price listed. Ordered it and a small side Caesar salad. The potato was small with very little BBQ on it. In the end, the potato was $15.99. lol. Horrible experience. Came in on a 90 degree day with my mom and siblings, my mamaw asked for a cool place to sit since we had been playing putt putt before. There was about 3 other tables including one at the bar, 5-6 waitresses just standing around. A waitress sat us down and we waited 10 minutes until a couple came in and sat down, they were given water and drinks ordered as we didn't. We sat for another 10 minutes until we left and had a waitress with the audacity to tell us to have a good night. We didn't even receive a "it'll be just a moment" let alone any water. I'm glad they didn't fry any mudpuppies here! I enjoyed the atmosphere, eating right on the dock with the water below us, surrounded by the marina on all sides. The food was average unfortunately. I ordered the firecracker shrimp tacos, and while the spicy sauce drizzled on made for a good flavor, I was disappointed that one of the tacos only had two small pieces of fried shrimp. For the price, you should do better than that. My friend's flatbread was totally burned though the toppings looked okay. Not something I would risk ordering. I understand not having glass at the marina but buying expensive alcohol in a plastic cup seems like something a tourist trap bar in downtown Nashville would do, not a local hotspot in Vonore. read more

My experience at this establishment was very disappointing. Me and my family decided to try this place as it's new in rebranded because we hadn't been there in a while. Let's just say not much changed. I remember when this place was called Sequoia Marina and I remember one of the last times we went there it was packed. They were understaffed and I waited an actual 3 1/2 hours for chicken tenders that never came because I decided to leave all I'm going to say is not much has changed. When our party arrived, we ordered drinks and an appetizer. I can't speak for everybody else, but I ordered an Arnold Palmer, which if you don't know what that is, it's tea and lemonade, and I ordered it with unsweet tea because I find that if a restaurant uses sweet tea, it's too sweet in this one was OK wasn't the best but I've definitely had worse when our appetizer arrived. The table was pleased. They were these street corn ribs and they were very good. They were very hot and fresh and I definitely recommend them now when we ordered there was two of the same burger two pasta dishes, a chicken sandwich and an order of fried catfish. It took a little while to come out, but it wasn't unbearable, around a half hour. All but two of the dishes came out at the same time. The other ones we had to wait about two minutes for not bad but when I was served mine, I was confused. I ordered a pesto, Caprese pasta with linguine and chicken. I was served a creamy Cajun pasta with what looked to be thinly sliced sausage similar to one you would use in a dish like jambalaya and I will say it was good. I had a bite of it but then. got the attention of my server to let her know that this was the wrong dish and she took it back and said we'll get the right one for you. I had to wait around 10 to 15 minutes for the stitch to come out and my server was not the one bringing us the food, but she came over to me after around 10 minutes and asked if they had brought it out to me yet to which I said no, I then had to wait a few more minutes to finally bring it out now it was OK that's the best I can say the pasta was fine. The sauce was definitely from a jar very green and I do love pesto pasta, but this was quite disappointing. I don't recommend it now. the chicken was in all seriousness some of the worst chicken I've ever had. It had a little flavor. It was almost crumbly like the feta cheese they put on my pasta. it was extremely dry and I would never order it again. As I was waiting for my real dish to come out, I was trying bits and pieces of everybody else's meals that they offered me. I'll try the fries. They were fine. I tried the burger. It was disgusting. They claim they use Wagyu beef I can see where all the budget went. And I've personally never tried Wagyu beef but if that's what it tastes like it looks like I'll be saving a lot of money in the long run though this burger had some sort of jam on top and cheese and then a piece of lettuce and it was the mud puppy signature burger. It was nothing to sign off about it was extremely greasy. The cheese was rubbery. The jam didn't work with it. The lettuce tasted like it had been left out in the sun for a few hours both the people that Got the burger didn't even finish half of it. Another person in our party order a chicken sandwich it was just about the same as the burger greasy disgusting dry chicken rubbery cheese I was extremely disappointed since I personally love chicken sandwiches now the highlight of all the dishes was the fried catfish this particular night was my first time having catfish and I would like to say I was thrilled. It was hot fresh juicy flavorful and was not what some people were describe "muddy" it was almost like chicken tenders with the texture of fish. I would absolutely order it from this place. The second pasta dish I did not try but it looked good and I imagine it was good because it's hard to mess up pasta except somehow this place knows how to. Deposit dishes also came with garlic bread one glance at it could tell you it came straight from the freezer aisle at Kroger and you can already imagine what it tasted like though. It's not the main meal so it wasn't too bad just a little disappointing on a lighter note our server was very nice and fast and understanding. This restaurant is floating on a lake with a nice view there's many different types of seating from a normal table to a table with higher chairs and a bar. The inside is nice there's a sort of inner and outer part where you can be either closer to the center or closer to the water that's just about all they have to say about this place. The only things that have changed are the name and the menus you would think they could fix this place in a span of four years but I guess not. I hope after this they consider it. The food and service at the mud puppy is excellent. The ambience was fantastic as we were able to sit right on the water on a nice cool fall day. We eat here almost every weekend when we are out on the water. Cannot beat the atmosphere. People complain about the wind... you're outside on the water- it is going to be windy. The food is consistently good. BBQ sandwich and nachos are always good, so are the salads and the buffalo chicken wrap. Drinks are syrupy but okay. Took about 10-15 minutes to be acknowledged because bartenders back was to me talking to customer across the way. Finally, with a smile saying "sorry, i saw you come in and it took a while to get to you". with that apology, you'd think there would be more attentiveness. nope -- never came back to ask if I wanted to order from the menu. Finished the drink, which didn't take long because it was pretty small. Wanted to leave at that point and spend my money elsewhere that cared about customer service -- WOW $14 for a cocktail on their drink specials for the month menu -- with the 'house' liquor -- no upgrading to anything fancy. Best place on Tellico Lake for causal dining. It's literally on the water. The food and Service are good with great view of the lake. We've been coming to this place by water since we got our boat three summers ago. It's been a staple for feeding a boat full of hungry teenage boys. Stopped off yesterday having called ahead of time to make sure they weren't on a long wait (holiday weekend) as we just wanted to grab some quick food and get back to surfing. Were told to come on, that we could be seated quickly. Arrived within 10 minutes and ended up waiting almost 30 for a table for our party of 8. A little annoyed but OK, it is a busy weekend and close to dinner time. Then it took over an hour to get our food. Over an hour!!! And when it finally arrived it was awful. Nothing was hot and fresh, even the "mudpuppies" tasted like they had been under a heat lamp for a while. Such a disappointment. We left half of the food uneaten. Mudpuppy's is unfortunately a huge let down, nearly every aspect of our dining experience was a letdown. We knew we were in trouble when we waited over 5 minutes to be greeted by our server. Then the food was also a big letdown! The warm pretzel we ordered was not warm at all the beer cheese had a skin on it thicker than the crust of the pretzel. The signature Burger was absolutely flavorless although they did cook it to proper temp. And the rice pilaf they are so proud of was just rice no pilaf. Our server unfortunately was absent most of the experience more than once cups were empty as thirst lingered and simply requested were forgotten. My biggest surprise was the absolute lack of management, there was no one there fulfilling that role. in 2024 we loved this place...they did all they could to assure you had great service....HOWEVER, this year we've gone twice and all that...gone...we came in 2025...seating only at the bar..no problem there...sat down ordered a cold beer...got a ..."semi-cool' beer...you know what that's like..right? ick! asked for a cold mug...female bartender...just said "no"...asked for a bucket of ice...same tender said..."no"...so...we left..this lady had a @@!! up...anyway....on the way out, the 'manager' I guess...asked us 'what's wrong'? told her flat out...you have issues with that bartender...she hates that job it appears....so, she saw to it that we got a table....and the waitress had NO PROBLEM bringing us a bucket of ice for the bottle of beers we had...we appreciated the lady manager...and the waitress....but that lady at the bar...got nothing from us....it's too bad to, because you can literally ruin a business even if you have that awesome backdrop of the river going on! a warm/cool beer? ewwwww.....didn't mind the prices too much IF the service/food was excellent....period. so, we went in to eat a month or so later.....seating not a problem....ordered a hamburger...which...um...let's just say, it had been "around a while"....and I've had their hamburgers last year...and they were AWESOME....but this time...something was "off" ...we didn't bother to raise an issue this time, as....seems they will not be making any changes/improvements to their...let's just say..."quality" all around...a shame though. read more

We went there a few times last year trying to give them a chance and we never got good food or service. And it is very pricey. We went this year once, had 6 people, we all got our food separately. One of us had our whole meal ate before they brought any other food. One person's catfish came out cold and raw so they took it back and microwaved it-yuck. They forgot my husbands completely. We ordered more drinks from our waitress and they never came. We tried to ask the owner at the bar if he could get them for us and he said you'll have to wait on your server. Like he didn't even care. While standing at the bar we heard the cook come out and ask the talking servers if they were going to deliver their orders before they got cold.
