This is my 2nd time going here, I got the mug breakfast platter with choice of meat . I got the hash , over easy eggs and sourdough toast. And I asked for onions and cheese on my hash . Well the hash alone was the star of the plate , looks home made and not out of a can like most places , the portion was a little small. My mom would tell me when I was a kid, that I won the clean plate award or it was so clean you could just put it back on the shelf it's so clean , well I won it today , looks like I licked the plate clean , and I was surprised they charged me $1.75 for onions , look at the picture , $2.00 for a slice of cheese and .50 up charge for the hash . News to me . So my 11.00 breakfast with a coke turned into $20 in a heartbeat , watch out for the add ons like buying a car . Everything else was good , service was great . Absolutely awful experience. We waited over 40 minutes for breakfast, only to be told they had forgotten to even give our order to the kitchen. During that entire wait, no one offered me a refill on my water despite me finishing it right after we sat down. When they finally admitted the mistake, they said it would be at least another 5 minutes before we'd get our food. We decided to just pay for the coffee and leave. Hadn't been here in quite a while, but a friend suggested we 'get the gang together'. Glad we did. I usually cook my own breakfast ok, but never pancakes. These were a treat. For our first visit, it was a losing proposition from the get go. This is apparently a local fave with a full house of customers coming and going. It looked like three working in the kitchen and four servicing the tables. The good-great homemade onion rings and fries. (Fish was fresh, not frozen) The homemade tartar sauce was nice. The bad-torn and sagging vinyl on the bench seats. The egg salad sandwich finally came it revealed a long hair after the first bite. The fish sandwich had rotten and soggy leaf lettuce. No, the lettuce was not softened from the heat of the fish, this was bottom of box lettuce snot. $16. Not priced on the menu so it was shock to find it on the bill. 4 percent add on for credit card. 35 minute wait (yes it was busy) until order was received and a coffee refills had to be asked for and given. Found this place with a buddy of mine after the place we were looking for was closed and I'm glad that it was. This place is great, easy in and easy out with plenty of parking. The waitress we had was marvelous all the way around. The food was great and came out super fast. I had a tuna melt with curly fries that was delicious and the fries were wicked crispy, which I love. My bud had a hungry man breakfast which he couldn't finish because it was huge. Definitely worth a revisit. read more

Had a "Build Your Own" omelet. This was a two egg omelet with kielbasa, broccoli, mushrooms and cheddar cheese. The omelet was perfectly cooked (no browning of the egg). The home fries were quite tasty and marbled rye toast. Everything was delicious. Very pleased (and I'm hard to please with omelets). It's a small, place but don't let that fool ya. We were on our way back home from doing our taxes which are never fun lol and we were so hungry I yelped for a spot to eat that wasn't the delicious Monson pizza. Came across the mug n muffin & cake inside to a quaint and homey location. Definition of a mom and pop spot! The menu had a bunch of options from soup and salad, breakfast, wraps, sandwiches, mug n muffins & more! I'm not usually the type to order Mexican food ever but I saw chicken quesadillas on the menu and thought eh why not? The waitress was very nice & helpful & gave suggestions to my fiancé to try the burgers! There aren't many words I can say about how good the food was but it was delicious! Curly fries were so good and seasoned well along with the impressive seasoning of the quesadilla. Filled with Monterey Jack and cheddar cheeses YUM! My fiancé thought his burger was just the right amount of juice, crunch & overall flavor. Order it pink & it's pink like he likes! The portions are tiny. The homemade corned beef hash was bland. They charge 50 cents more for it and only give you 2 teaspoons of it. $2.50 for a 6oz glass of milk for a large and they told me a Small is a shot glass for $1.50. The interior is country quaint, clean and well cared for. The Mug'n Muffin is breakfast and lunch only except on Friday nights, the only night they serve dinner. Service is prompt, friendly and the food arrives quickly from the kitchen. What struck me is the food quality and the way my breakfast had been prepared, every restaurant makes western omelets not every restaurant does it well. This omelet was light, fluffy, flavorful and cooked on the griddle at the proper low temperature for eggs. It was the the way the onions, green peppers and ham was prepped that maximized the flavor of all three omelet components. I'm not going to tell you what and how they did it, I am just going tell you go and see if you don't agree that this local breakfast nook isn't something very special! read more

We stumbled upon this quaint little restaurant on a mid-Saturday morning. The parking lot was full, but we figured we would give it a shot, and I am so glad that we did. The waitstaff were all very friendly, and super fast to get us coffee. The food was very good overall, and the refills of the coffee were quick. All good points in my book. The only thing that was a little off was their homemade corn beef hash. It was way over seasoned with spices. There was also a lot of potatoes in it, so it had a mash potato taste and texture. Not only are portions great because it's a lot to fill you but not enough to make you roll out the door wishing you hadn't eaten anything ever. But the prices are awesome and the actual food itself is AMAZING. Eggs done just how you like, hash on point and pancakes the size of your face. Seriously you can't go wrong. And they open at 6am so if you're an early riser then no problem. Plus is like breakfast time so it makes sense, they close at 2pm so if you want it you're gonna have to work for it lol. The place has a pretty good breakfast and a decent decor for a diner. The service is frequently lacking and very rushed but the food is good. I've had some great service but there are 1 or 2 old timers that sling the passive aggressiveness faster than flap jacks during rush hour. Can get quite busy as it's a local favorite but there is typically at least a couple of tables open. I'd give this place four stars if I didn't get attitude and a rushed feel more than half the time i go there. Beth's in town gives this place a run for their money. read more

We ate here after camping and oh my word, what can I say? Service - awesome! Food - awesome! Price - awesome! Atmosphere - awesome! (cute, quaint country feel) And the coffee was fantastic! Fresh, strong, yummy. We have a kid with a severe dairy allergy and so it's not always easy for us to eat while out on the road. They could not have been any sweeter or more accomodating. I was hoping to find a local joint for those weekends you want a big breakfast without having to cook. However, this isn't going to be it. We waited in the doorway for 10-15 minutes with other customers waiting on a table without anyone speaking to us. So we were left to observe the other diners to figure out when a table might open. When we were sat, a waitress was fairly quick and friendly to get drinks for us. We ordered the hungry man breakfasts. The coffee was good but the food could've been much better. Even though they offer to customize your homefries (onion, peppers, cheese) it's irrelevant, due to the base potatoes, small cubed brown potatoes with no taste. I got 1 piece of "Texas" French toast... one more fraud to add to the list. It's not the least bit thicker than standard bread. Recently ate here and I would not reccomend it to anyone. I should have left the second we walked in the door. There was news papers ans trash in the entry way on the floor. When we sat at our table the benches were so uncomfortable and our table reeked of bleach. I had asked my husband if we can leave and go to friendly but he was embarrassed because we had ordered our drinks already. The kitchen is so messy and over stalked I cant imagine the it is very clean and sterile. Its disgusting and super unclean. I think the health department needs to get in there.
