What's there not to like about Nemo's (except the difficulty of getting a last minute reservation)?

One of the best seafood restaurants in Naples. Must make a reservation to be safe during the season. Highly recommend it.

Dinner was delicious and beautifully prepared. Peter, the bartender, recommended a lovely wine and grilled fish fish that was fantastic.

A Hidden Gem in Downtown Naples -- Don't Sleep on This Place!…read more I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and the place was buzzing -- the outside patio was at full capacity. I asked for a seat at the bar, and even though space is very limited, the staff went above and beyond to find me one. That kind of effort on a packed afternoon says a lot about this team. The bartender was phenomenal -- attentive, warm, and somehow managed to make every single person at that busy bar feel like they were the only guest in the restaurant. The whole staff carried that same energy. They were also wonderfully descriptive about the daily specials and menu offerings, which made ordering a pleasure rather than a guessing game. I decided to try the crab cake, and I'm so glad I did. I grew up on the East Coast eating crab, and I've had my fair share -- I've long held that Phillips in Maryland made the gold standard. I am happy to report that Captain & Crew has dethroned them in my book. This crab cake was pure lump crab meat, not overpowered by fillers or seasoning. You could actually taste the crab. The accompaniments they served alongside it elevated the whole dish even further. Thoroughly impressed. The wine pairings were equally well-curated. I took the staff's recommendations and they absolutely nailed it. A heads-up for first-timers: parking is the one small challenge. There's no convenient lot right there, so you may need to use a parking garage and walk over. Honestly? Embrace it. If you're already in Downtown Naples, it's a beautiful stroll that perfectly sets the mood before you arrive. Captain & Crew is a true hidden gem. Many people come for the fresh seafood market, but don't overlook the restaurant side -- it's absolutely worth your time. Highly recommend.

After sitting down, we started reviewing the menu and saw so many interesting items that it was difficult to choose. Fortunately, our server noticed we were struggling and she offered to help navigate us through our meal. Our goal was to sample a variety of options, but not to over order. And we accomplished just that! We started with some Stone Crabs, then some Peel & Eat Shrimp, then my wife and I shared an entree of Blackened Grouper with sides of fries and coleslaw, where we also added a few scallops. Delicious! We thought we were done, but our server informed us of the excellent Key Lime pie. We had room to share one slice, and we are so happy we did! It was excellent. A great balance of tartness and sweetness. We look forward to returning!

The grouper "balls" were deep fried (not oily) and hot and crunchy with pineapple slaw, candied sesame pecans, steamed rice and creamy-mango sauce (can't wait to go back for lunch and order this dish again). My hubby ordered Nemo's Snapper Fish Tacos (2) priced at $18.95 and served with Caribbean rice, warm tortilla (Wheat or Corn) green cabbage, lime, queso fresco cheese, pickled onion condiments selection and creamy apple salad. His meal was outstanding. Highly recommend for a unique place for lunch.

The lobster soup was ok but portions were tiny compared to the price. Fish tacos were the same. Not enough bang for the buck. The fish special was a crusted grouper over risotto. It tasted ok, but the risotto had pieces of undercooked rice. The place seemed a bit rundown too. Overall, I would not visit again.

We decided to go with the shrimp cocktail and mahi tacos on corn tortillas. There are also plenty of gluten free options which is nice. My new fav vacay alcoholic beverage. This place is lively and lots of TVs to keep up with your fav sport team. It's also a Seminole bar (go gators). I won't hold it against them. Lol. Pretty good burger. For those who like to drink under a thatched roof outside, there is a tikki hut. The establishment's motif is all over the map. But let's just stay with the island theme in Naples, FL. Would I go back again? I don't know, I have had this book marked, and I have eaten at another of their establishments, Sonny's. They do not have the same menu. I like that.

From the moment we walked in, the hostesses and manager made us feel welcome and had us seated right away. Our server, Angel, was fantastic. He walked us through the menu, explained how many of the dishes were prepared, and made thoughtful recommendations without ever feeling pushy. We started with the octopus and fresh focaccia with honey. The octopus was exceptional--easily one of the best I've had and on par with dishes I've enjoyed at Michelin-starred and James Beard-recognized restaurants. We also shared the beet and goat cheese salad, followed by the local snapper and the ribeye cap topped with lobster claw and tail in chimichurri. Every dish was beautifully prepared and showcased the quality of the ingredients. The cocktails were well balanced (not overloaded with ice), and the Thyme on Thyme is an easy recommendation if you're looking for something light and refreshing. The wine list paired nicely with the meal as well. Watching the sunset over the water while listening to music drifting across the park made the evening even more memorable. Thanks to Angel and the kitchen for such an outstanding experience. Seventh South has earned a spot on our regular rotation whenever we're in Naples.

For dinner I had the Chorizo Encrusted Red Snapper and my wife had one of the specials which was the Tripletail. She said it was the best seafood dish she has ever had. For dessert, we split the special Crème Brûlée topped with diced fruit. We enjoyed the dessert so much, we purchased one for a sweet family of four sitting next to us. Our server Mike and the owner, Barry, helped make that happen and we appreciate it.

Definitely not for those with claustrophobia!! We were initially told they don't take reservations, yet several parties arrived claiming they had reservations. We also requested indoor seating, but despite plenty of empty tables inside, the owner insisted we wait for outdoor seating because "more people were coming." Meanwhile, regulars appeared to receive preferential treatment and were seated ahead of others. As for the food, the fried calamari, shrimp, scallops, and smelt were the highlights. All crispy, fresh, and very enjoyable. Unfortunately, the marinara sauce tasted watered down, and while both pasta dishes were cooked perfectly al dente, they lacked seasoning and flavor overall. Bar service limited to beer and wine. Disappointing experience due to the inconsistent service and uneven dining experience.

A little bit of Naples, Italy in Naples, Florida!…read more Parking: we went at 3pm which was in between meal time so parking was easy. We got a spot right in front of the restaurant on 5th Avenue Drinks: it was piping hot outside so we just had water. However they seem to have a pretty extensive wine list!! Food: we had Penne alla Norma and lasagna. Both were great. Actually, the Penne was great because it was in a light tomato sauce that was perfect for a super hot day. Service: we had Derek as our server. Seems like much of the staff are folks from Italy. We exchanged Italy stories with him. He was pleasant, knowledgeable and funny! Atmosphere/vibe: it was pretty empty when we went at 3pm but that was perfect for us. The only downside was when we walked inside to use the restroom. The inside part of the restaurant smells kind of gross, which is concerning. The bathroom smelled better than the restaurant! Pet friendly: yes, very pet friendly in the outdoors. We sat under a covered patio and they welcomed our puppy with open arms! Though they didn't offer him any water. Age group: we saw mainly adults but I'm certain this places sees all ages of customers. Bathroom: clean Return:yes!
