I went in and the nice technician started removing my gel, at the end of removing my gel she asked 'do you want me to cut your cuticles for you?' And I said 'if you don't mind that would be appreciated!' She cut my cuticles and I went to wash my hands and was ready to pay. However when I went to pay, the receptionist told me it would be $45, I asked to confirm the price because all I got was my gel removed and she told me because I agreed to having my cuticles cut, it was now considered a manicure and 'she did the service so I need to pay it.' To which I asked for clarification because she did not paint my nails, do a clear coat, soak my nails, or any of the other services that come with a manicure. She said I could get a polish if I wanted to and I considered it but then I asked again is there no way to pay a little more than the gel removal fee because yes she did cut my cuticles but it feels unfair that since they did not communicate that uncharge to me that I would be expected to pay for a service I simply did not get. She said I should have asked for the prices when she offered to cut my cuticles and I said that doesn't feel fair because I've gotten gel removed before where they just cut my cuticles without asking so why would I have assumed it would be a $35 add on to my $10 service. The receptionist then told me to leave and she would rather me not pay than argue with her. I explained I was not arguing and I do want to pay, $45 for a service I did not receive feels unfair but I would not be leaving without paying. I took a $20 out of my wallet and put it on the technicians table and left. I paid double what I would have paid for the service alone, I will not let someone think I'm trying to not pay service workers, she deserves to be paid, however, I am not okay with trying to be scammed out of $35 for a up-charge that was not communicated properly. I do not recommend this shady behavior in an establishment, sorry for the miscommunication but this could have been handled so much better than it was.

NOTE: The amount of hypocrisy in the messages they respond to reviews on here is incredible. They consistently use the terminology that they "value loyalty" - yet again, if you dare to cancel an appointment (respectfully, with communication), their way of handling, it will be to punish you. So no amount of polite "up speak" or other comments can make up for the fact that this is how they actually handle loyal customers. For some reason, the ownership, which is a partnership between Patti, and her male counterpart, believe that you've committed some horrible offense if you dare to reschedule your appointment. They're one of 1000 manicure salons in Los Angeles, and they happen to be right down the street from some major Studios, so how insane is it that they find it offensive that busy folk in the entertainment industry might need to occasionally reschedule their appointment??! I've been a loyal customer for over five months, having put up with some of the rudeness and entitlement, because there was one Manicurist, who always did a decent job. I even on one occasion them brought them expensive smoothies because I happen to be grabbing one for myself... But did it stop them from being rude when three months later I needed to reschedule an appointment?! No. In fact, they acted as if I wasn't a loyal customer, and as if I had done something atrocious, like missed an appointment, without bothering to request the appropriate change. My reason for cancellation? I had had a serious medical situation come up. I even offered to pay for my missed appointment, but all I got back was that I was no longer welcome to schedule with that particular Manicurist, because her time and schedule is very important. They also then told me the only way that I could book in a future appointment would be online- so I was being punished for having a medical emergency and having the audacity to actually try to reschedule a manicure appointment! I have all the texts to prove this, if annyone out there wishes proof of this. Additionally, they lied, and said that "due to my several cancellations" - when I literally had only had ONE cancellation, five months, previous, again to due to illness. I don't know if this cruel and vindictive behavior that does not value, loyalty and kindness is because the owners are just unkind human beings, or if they're just so overwhelmed with always being shortstaffed that they've decided the only way to handle their personal upset is to take it out on loyal customers. Doesn't matter. I immediately rescheduled with an outstanding manicure salon that just opened literally five minutes from them, and so far those two appointments have been outstanding. Bel-Air Nails. But really, as we all know, there's thousands of good nail salons in Los Angeles, this is definitely not one of them. Thank you. - Kathryn B.

He was professional, knew his job well and was extremely meticulous about his work. They have 4 chairs to do their manicure, and 5 massage chairs to do their pedicure. Thankfully, the TV was on and it was not the depressing, sad, violent news. They were showing Americas got Talent. Also, soft music would have been nice to listen too. After he was done with my pedicure Jamy, took me inside their room where they do waxing. I needed to wax my under arms, and eye brows. She did a great job; and for both services they charged me $58.00. Even though they are the business owners, I still tipped them well. Place was super clean, with cute decor here and there. Parking shared with other businesses, and one gender neutral restroom also very clean. She even gave me a $2.00 off for my waxing. My only critique is that the massage that Nick did on my legs/feet was too short. Didn't even last 3 minutes. I also like the pressure to be medium to medium hard. He hand strong hands, but didn't deliver. I will definitely visit this salon when I am in the area. Highly recommend to others. I had hard Gel on my nails from my old place. Not chips or cracks! I was asking for my nails to be cut all the way down and hard gel again. Ben was the tech, he used a dremel to grind off what was on my nails and to cut down the length. I first had to keep telling him to go shorter and shorter. He then used the nail file and it still wasn't getting them short enough and they were extremely crooked. I had to point out about 8 of the 10 nails one by one that need to be leveled out. He then did his thing painting them. I got no lotion, no cuticle cutting, no hand message. Just the Dremel, file, paint, light and oil. About 3 hrs later 1 nail chipped. I went back and Rose tried to corrected it. She removed everything off the nail again. Placed some type of liquid hardener, cure it, but did not smooth it out so after it was painted it looked rippled. By that night a 2nd nail cracked, by morning a 3rd nail chipped. I wasn't doing any house work or anything to cause it. By day day 3, I have 3 chipped and 1 cracked nail and that's not mentioning the one they corrected. $50 for Hard Gel and 2 Visit, tipping both visits. Gone! Update: 7 days later my nails are so messed up. I really wanted to possibly go back and give them one more chance but absolutely not!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH BEING AROUND PETTY, IMMATURE CADDY GIRLS!! I walked in about 10 minutes late because my GPS kept rerouting, the business is tucked away in a little plaza. So... The FIRST THING THE RECEPTIONIST TELLS ME.. we cant do your pedicure package because your 12 minutes late. You can only do the basic pedi now. Let me tell you what's wrong with this: 1. She is basically refusing my business and downgrading my package bringing LESS money to the business. 2. SHE DIDNT CONSULT with my nail tech before she denied my service 3. After going back and fourth with me for 5 minutes about what my options were, I told her I am willing to wait and she needs to treat me as a walk in and figure out how I will get the package that I came for. 4. I sat on the waiting couch and instantly the girls in the salon INTENTIONALLY MADE ME FEEL OUT OF PLACE. The receptionist started to text one of the regulars who was getting a pedicure. They begin laughing out loud with each other and looking at each other like we were all in high school. It was crazy BUT IT GETS BETTER! 5. The MANAGER (fat Armenian one) says outloud " I KNOW YOU GUYS ARE TEXTING EACH OTHER RIGHT NOW AND IM MAD IM NOT IN THAT, MAKE A GROUP MESSAGE" - They all start speaking Armenian with each other at this point and reallly put the icing on the cake for IMMATURE, UNPROFESSIONAL AND LAME!! I LAUGH OUT LOUD! Am i really dealing with this right now? THE ONLY REASON I DEALT WITH all of this is because i had a $60 gift card from my boyfriend for Christmas and couldn't go anywhere else. :( thank god!! the two asian ladies were the one's to do my mani & pedi :) they DID AWESOME! but of course, i had to ASK FOR COMPLIMENTARY CHAMPAGNE. This place is like heaven! I am usually such a picky person when it comes to my nails but there are no words to how satisfied and amazed I am with this nail salon. It is such a modern and hip environment. It is like a breath of fresh air when you walk in. The staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. They are so patient and helpful. They have beautiful LED menu's (Just like a real bar) to help pick exactly what you want. They have a huge variety of polishes and brands and their prices are extremely reasonable. I am so happy this place opened up and is so convenient with the location. They serve Champaign and wine along with cupcakes and other treats. It has been the best experience I have had at a nail salon. I went in without an appointment after work on Monday night and it was 15 mins before they closed.. the staff offered to stay late and accommodate my late ( " you drove here to get your nails done we would love to stay and takeschedule unlike other places that would probably pressure me into making an appointment for the next day or turn me away. I am absolutely in love with this nail salon! From the second I walked in to the second I walked out I was treated like royalty. When I walked in I was instantly greeted with a smiling face! The receptionist helped check me in and pick my color. I had an appointment with Diane and was seated right away! They offered me a Mimosa made sure I was comfortable. Diane did an incredibly great job with my full set. I couldn't be happier with the outcome and will definitely be returning. The salon is very inviting and beautifully decorated! I got a chance to speak with the owners while I was there for my service and I have to say how kind and business oriented they are. I noticed that they are so friendly and helpful to their staff. I got a vibe that all the employees are close and helpful towards each other! Unlike other nail salons, this salon was spotless clean and I noticed each pedicure tub was scrubbed down as soon as someone left it! I am VERY impressed with the salon and will definitely be back for more. I definitely recommend this salon to anyone who wants to relax and get pampered in a clean and beautiful environment! NIKI IS LITERALLY THE GODDESS OF NAILS & NAIL ARTS DO YOURSELF A FAVOR & only book with her if you've never been here. Before I booked with her I tried many other nail techs here & they were okay but they did not ever compare to niki. Lauren & Erika are really good at doing pedicure. They work fast clean and efficient. DULCE is the only person I choose to talk too. Trust me I used to call and talk to the other girls and they got my appointments wrong multiple times ... Ask for dulce & you will be treated like a queen from the booking other the phone to the mimosa & Champagne served right to you when you arrive. Dulce has amazing customer service she's always cleaning and making sure everything is perfect and neat. HONESTLY... Niki is the main reason I go here. To the owners and staff at The Nail Bar, Thank you for never disappointing!!!!! Getting pampered at The Nail Bar is by far the best experience I've had with any nail salon EVER!!! This salon has such an amazing atmosphere! It's great to finally find a clean and classy salon with a friendly staff who always makes me feel welcome!! They carry a huge variety of nail polish brands and colors!! The receptionists greet me with a smile and positive energy every single visit!! If I could give this place more stars I would! Been coming here every month for over a year now and I love it. I always go to Debbie. I can rely on her to make sure my nails are on point, if I'm having a shitty day she honestly turns it around. She tends to get booked up fast, which in my opinion is more is amazing because she does such an amazing job people want to go by her. I always make my following appointment before I leave the salon. I just recently had a major event, and of course Debbie did my nails. There would be no way I would let anyone other than her touch my nails either acyclic or gel, this girl is a perfectionist. Being a perfectionist myself I see how she pays attention to all the details. Honestly recommend Debbie for anyone that is picky like me and wants perfection! read more

Update as of 6/15: Again, shocked by the response left by the owner a full week later on my original review. The claim that I'm "hell-bent on damaging their reputation" is so rude that I don't even know where to begin, especially considering that this is the only platform I've ever mentioned a word of this experience on. Even in my response to their email, I only said they should check their cameras, gave them the time/date, told them I didn't appreciate being called a liar and then THANKED them for the refund. I've had zero further correspondence with them, so I'm not sure what they mean by "it seems whatever we do". The story they're trying to spin is ridiculous, and I would be much more gracious if they had just apologized and moved on instead of whatever they've turned this into. read more

Love love love this place. I have to start with mentioning that Debbie is my nail goddess. I don't know what I would do without her.. I've been biting my nails for over 10 years, and putting on acrylics for about three years. With Debbie, we were able to make my real nails grow, and I finally got my first gel manicure set. No more acrylic! . Not only does she do an amazing job while working on nails, but also makes you feel so comfortable while you're sitting there. She'll sit there and talk to you, share fun stories etc..., The nail bar itself is extremely clean and welcoming, I think it's super adorable how they offer drinks while I'm getting my nail done; water, orange juice, or champagne. Great place, can't imagine getting my nails done elsewhere. :) read more

This salon is Amazing! All my family and friends know how picky I am when it comes to my nails and I never like changing salons. I've been at the same place for 7 years now. But after having The Nail Bar experience, I don't think I can ever go back. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The manicurists do an excellent job. I even got complimentary Champaign and deserts while getting my nails done and even though I was a walk in I didn't even have to wait for a minute This place is not like the typical nail salon. It is such a happy and fun environment to be in and the salon is spotless clean. The décor is so beautiful I didn't even want to leave. I am proud to say that I have found my new salon!!!!!!! Nice place but lack of customer service, try not to get Diane to do your nails because thats the worst mistake ever. She is so rude and doesn't care about your personal preference. She doesn't even do a good job I mean how do people keep recommending her. The owner herself said that she is very good try her and then we'll see. Well now I see that she is not what they say. My nails came out horrible, she cut me two times but the only good thing is that they offer beverages to you. Not recommended at all. AVIOD THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. Beautiful & clean salon but do not go see Lauren. She is absolutely terrible! She does not know what she is doing. Honestly, My toes & hands look like my 4 year old daughter did them. I'm very disappointed to say the least! I decided to create a YELP account just to do this review because I do not want anyone to have the same bad experience I had the other day. Waste of $$!! Lauren is very forgetful & apparently has poor vision. I did inform the the girl at the front desk, I am assuming she's the owner, but she was very nonchalant about it. I decided to give this salon another chance. Disappointing experience once again. Gigi is VERY unprofessional, obnoxious, nasty, & super loud!!!!! She absolutely has no respect for herself and those around her. I am sure that every person along with myself who comes to this beautiful establishment wants to relax while getting pampered. On the other hand, Tina, the receptionist is an absolute doll! I hate to leave but I can no longer tolerate Gigi or her loudness anymore and therefore will take my business else where. Teach Gigi some etiquette Nailbar!! She may be a $$ maker for you guys but her lack of class isn't good!! read more

We'll let's start off by saying that I am a singer and I like to always look On point. And my nails are the most important part of my lifestyle. My daughter goes here and gets her nails done all the time. I asked her to book me an appointment and I'm glad she did. My nail technician Lucy was super nice and very precise with her work. She took a great time making sure my nails were on fleek. Plus the people there are super Nice especially the receptionist Elina and Mari.I loved my nails, I get compliments all the time. Mimosas while getting pampered, yes please!!!!! Ownership & the receptionist Dulce are super nice & very attentive !! Dulce is always so sweet and helpful. She makes my mom and I feel at home. Her caring personality and amazing customer service makes each visit soooooo enjoyable and relaxing. Everything runs very smoothly when she is there. The salon has tons of colors both regular and gel to choose from as well. The salon is beautiful inside & most importantly it is kept very very clean. Come visit The Nail Bar. BEAUTIFUL JOB! I gave the Nail Bar a second chance after not having the best first visit. I was really unhappy with the way my nails were done and I didn't plan on returning. The owner, Leidy, reached out to me knowing they could do a better job and she was right. Anna did a full set of Gel-X extensions and they look absolutely amazing. Anna does brilliant work and is very detailed. She did a great job on my gel pedicure as well. She recommended this really cute lilac color and I'm obsessed. I first came here back in 2017 and had Diane do my nails which she did an amazing job. If I can recall she also did my nails for my wedding which was late Oct of 2018. My friend and I have been doing our monthly nail dates since last year and have been very satisfied with the service. A nice way for us to catch up and pamper ourselves while we enjoy some complimentary mimosas Erica and Anna are amazing. Let's not mention the new management, Leidy is amazing, very friendly and easy to talk to. Overall this place is amazing. read more

I went to this salon about a couple of weeks ago and was treated very nicely by the receptionist. Since this was my first time there I didn't know the ladies doing the nails, and choosing a new manicurist can me scary. However, Dolse the receptionist sent me to do my nails with Erika, and it was a match made in heaven. She is very nice and really knows what she is doing. She first asked some questions about what I wanted and she did a great job. She was even able to fix one of my broken nails. read more

I came here a while back and had an ok experience, I Was in the area and decided to try it out again ! The chick in the front was super nice & they also switched up the decor and got a whole set of new polishes ! so I asked why and Apparently its UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT. Liz did My set and it came out just how I expected ,Not to mention I was able to communicate with the whole staff without a language barrier! This Team is great !! I will definitely be coming back . I have been looking for a nail salon like this for a long time and I think I have found it. Everyone that works there is very friendly and fun. I drive from Santa clarita and its worth it. They responded back with great advice & scheduled my appointment for the next following weekend. my appointment came around and i didn't realize how close they are to me until i arrived. they don't have their own parking however their is street parking in the back. As i walk inside i was immediately greeted by a lady with a lovely smile & i told her that i had an appointment for dry pedicure. she got me in right away, no wait & the pedicure tech was setting up the chair. Varduhi is so nice. she introduced herself to me immediately and apologize for her English not being good which was absolutely okay with me because i speak Armenian myself! i didn't know backstage beauty was armenian owned until i arrived at the salon & seen all of the amazing hardworking beautiful woman's. Varduhi continued to make me feel comfortable during my appointment, she reassured me about my toe length & the sensitivity of my cuticles. i really appreciate when techs speak with you. i LOOVEE the complimentary snack & water. it was very sweet & so yummy! the chocolate was delish! I was interested in getting the color yellow for my toes to match my nails and they didn't have a lot of options for the color yellow so I picked a nice yellow not too bright and it came out really subtle & beautiful. i actually really like the color. Varduhi did a beautiful job on my toes! It's actually really amazing for a salon to have multiple services & everyone looks like they love what they do.
