I was a new client looking for hard gel fill and gel pedi that would be less than 2 hours. So I just asked for a manicure only. Just the manicure took 2.5 hours. They pride themselves on detailed quality work but behind my nails were not cleaned properly. The one nail that was repaired did not get polished behind so now there is a ledge where food and grime is getting stuck. Also their credit card machine didn't work. And the owner didn't trust her own technician with pricing so she had to come over and confirm they charged me for gel removal and buff/shine with additional fees. I did end up getting the manicure and pedicure, which totaled over $200. I would not recommend this salon unless you have 3 hours to spend on slightly better than average nail work and want to over pay. I also don't think the owner understands customer service especially for a new client. I won't be returning. read more

I have always loved the salon and I went back after having to go somewhere else because I couldn't get an appointment. And even though I had had many pedicures and manicures at this place they wanted me to charge 15 extra dollars to take off my pedicure because I had had it somewhere else. Even though I've never got charged by anyone else for taking off the pedicures they've done with me. So instead of giving me a pedicure, they sent the person home. So they lost the business and also lost my business forever. Not to mention that their nail price was way more expensive than what I could get for as similar somewhere else. read more

You knew exactly what you were doing. Again nobody was pressed for your friendship. I studied psychology, non verbal communication and patterns of human behavior in undergrad. Your behavior towards me became increasingly malignant the longer I remained a client. I learned a hard lesson simply trying to help a fellow woman of color who constantly complained of financial difficulties with other clients and how expensive her shop is to maintain. Never again. I pay a bit more for a much more professional experience. My nails last the entire 4 to 5 weeks. None of them lift. My new tech cleans behind the nail so it's not thick and gunky. And she always checks in on my comfort. Sona would roll her eyes when I would complain and continue doing what she was doing. Her client that spoke up was a KAREN. Sona herself had to tell this woman to be quiet because the individual did what Karens do and disturbed a normal volumed conversation that had nothing to do with her. If we can't speak up for ourselves in the salon, where shall we do it? In our heads and hearts? Mind you, I've already addressed how I asked her to be more gentle multiple times, she ignored me and carried on. I did the right thing. There are so many places to get your nails done in LA. Money is tight for everyone. Sona knows this and employs what I feel are passive aggressive, manipulative tactics like, "friendship" to keep the client. Mind you I've been to her home and she asked about my life for her book. I don't like passive aggressive people that hurt me and I'm always going to address it. I addressed it professionally to you as a client. Which is more than I can say for your behavior. read more
