Decided that we needed to remove the stump ASAP because we had to get our fence repaired. On a Friday morning a couple weeks ago, I called Glenn who went over the process. Then Jose Luis called within 30 minutes to schedule a time to provide an estimate. He said that Paul, the operations guy, was actually in DC and could do the job in the afternoon if everything worked out. Paul stopped by and while we all agreed on the price, he couldn't do the work because being in DC we had to ask our neighbors to move their cars. Then the next day, Saturday morning at 9 AM Paul and his partner were at the house. Their machine is like Tesla's Model X of grinders. In 1.5 hours, they got rid of a tree stump that had a circumference of 81 inches. Additionally, Jose Luis stopped by to see how everything was going. I also appreciated Paul's concern for the environment, as we talked about options for replacing the tree that was originally there. 3/9/22 Called on 2/17/22 and left a message for getting a free estimate on a tree and stump removal at 10:15am. I look forward to hearing back from Glenn. Guess what?! I back from Glenn and the conversation went very well. The ambience from the conversation seemed like we have spoken before...possible?, maybe?, but I don't think so. Nevertheless, our first meeting went well with a Mr. Jose coming by to give us an estimate on the cost of a tree removal. "The game is a foot"...well Holmes, the wheels are certainly in motion, but the foot or tree so to speak will be...needs to be amputated and grounded down to fine powder. In the meantime, we will see what or how our meeting goes with Jose. Well meeting Jose went well. Upon seeing the tree, Jose informed me the cost would be $700. Okay cool. We talked about getting the work done the next day, but I need to notify some of my neighbors about moving their cars. We set a date for February 26 or onMarch 5th if the weather is bad. Jose said he would call on Monday and let us know, but we did not hear back from him on Monday. While waiting for his call, we will check out other places as well. The price of 700 sounds good. We have a large, old, and beautiful maple and a few old oaks that create a canopy around our house here in Arlington. The maple tree hadn't seen any love in nearly its entire existence, and a portion of the roots were under a concrete driveway from the previous owners. After freeing the tree, we needed and wanted to get this old maple in better shape. Glenn responded within minutes of my email and had a crew out to examine the tree within a day. The quote was very reasonable, and the crew was quite specific on what they would do, how they would do it, and how much it would cost - at the house, so I didn't need to wait for a response. The actual tree cutting was world class. The team arrived promptly at the time they specified (it is insane how important and respectful this is, as I've had many experiences of businesses saying they would arrive at a particular time, only to get called a day later apologizing they missed the date). The team setup shop, was super respectful about distancing due to Coronavirus, and got to work immediately. They took a HUGE amount of debris down from the tree and left it looking beautiful. They also examined the tree for health issues and alerted me to a hole to watch every year. Afterwards, the crew cleaned up after the mess created by the tree and even told me that if things didn't look perfect, to just call them back and they'd come out again. I needed a holly tree (and stump) removed whose roots were getting into the foundation of my home and also had 2 stumps removed from 2 oak trees I had removed years ago). We had several dead and dying trees removed, some of which were close to our house and fences. They cut down and removed the branches and trunks, then ground the remaining stumps until nothing was left but sawdust (which they also removed).
