Just moved here not too long ago and was very excited to see a bubble tea place! I have honestly been craving it for a while now. Inside is very clean and has the menu right next to the register. There are seats with tables and a nice, quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The man behind the register was very patient with my partner and I as we read the menu and decided on what to order. I chose the honeydew with mochi and he chose blueberry with the tapioca balls. The drinks were delicious and the bubbles were also so good. Much better than most of the chain bubble tea/boba places I've tried elsewhere. Bonus, the lids had super cute faces on them. My only thing was that the mochi was slightly too big for the straw, I had to finish my drink then eat the mochi after. But they also tasted delicious so it wasn't a big deal. I will definitely come back, this is my new favorite bubble tea place! I'll also try some of the other teas next time. read more

My husband & I are in town visiting family and we would've never thought we'd find a boba place in Juneau. My husband got the taro with boba (right) and I got the matcha coconut with lychee jelly (left). The taro was SO good!!!! It tasted just like Magnolia ube ice cream!!! We originally had just ordered those two drinks but went back in before leaving the lot to buy another taro and avocado for family. The interior was super cute and cozy as well! There's a large table, a comfortable couch and some books and board games to play. Don't miss visiting this place if you're local or just visiting! read more

This is a fun little shop with great ambiance, board games, upbeat music, and a wide assortment of teas. You can get hot, iced, fruit, creamy, or milk teas, and you can add boba, fruit jellies, etc. to some of the options! I love the variety, and in addition to teas, a food and sweet dessert is offered each day. Both times I've been here, the food was a turkey croissant with a salad, which I'm sure is delicious but it's unfortunate the food option isn't vegetarian friendly. We tried both the chocolate cupcake and the carrot cake, and both were light yet decadent. Based on these two experiences I'd highly recommend the desserts! I've definitely had much better bubble tea elsewhere, so going forward I'd likely get an iced or hot tea instead after trying both the taro and vanilla rooibos bubble teas. Despite the "just ok" bubble tea, the staff is super friendly and helpful, the vibe is perfect, and the options are plentiful. I'd frequent this spot if I lived locally, even if only for a piece of cake and a nice space to play games :) read more

Been to both locations. Loved each. Both had a different and distinct vibe and space. Liked that the downtown location featured local artists and their work in this sliver of a space. The valley location had a comfy vibe and you could see their all the teas they had to offer and any of the extras, such as tea cups, pots and bags. read more

Came for the Final Friday bubble tea bar. Cozy shop and plenty of coconut flavors (coconut matcha, coconut rooibos). I wasn't quite sure how the bubble tea bar worked, but he woman behind the counter was happy to explain to me (fill up your cup with the various add-ons and they'll add them to your cup. I got the boba, mochi rice balls, and coconut lychee jelly. They have various flavors of both fruit and milk teas. I got a blend of the strawberry fruit tea and the coconut milk tea. I was told that the coconut would curdle when mixed with other teas, but that there's nothing wrong with it- just the appearance. It wasn't until she started making it that I realized that they also had coconut and almond milks (which I prefer mostly for flavor). Oh well, something to keep in mind for next time. I had thought it was half off teas for happy hour, but I guess those are on other days and this was just for the bubble tea. It was the normal $5.25 for a 16 oz small with tax, but with unlimited toppings (unlike the usual 75 cents per toppings). Good flavor combination and reminded me of the boba I would get years ago. My new favorite place in Juneau! Exhaustive list of quality teas. I love greens but today I ordered a personal pot of Iron Goddess of Mercy Oolong. My favorite part of this tea experience was getting to pick out a tea pot to use for the service and then a cup. The gentleman who served me was so kind and helpful. The tea was served in the tea pot I chose on a cool green tray. I also bought biscuits to eat with my eat. The groovy music and eclectic furniture made me wish there was a yoga studio next door so that I could have a yoga/tea day. I spent over an hour hanging out and reading a book called "Green Tea" from the Book Shelf. Part way through flowers from a nearby business were delivered to celebrate Final Friday. Over all a super groovy and unrushed tea experience. I had a second pour for my tea that was more delicious than the first and tasty English muffins to go with. In a town where you can't even find a decent café, it seems improbable that you would have an artisan tea house, built with love, run with care...but that's exactly what this place is. I am delighted to have found it, and I am eager to share my discovery with all of my friends and the world. They know their subject well; their teas are sourced with care, and they brew them with an expert hand. Whether you want a delicate oolong, an aged Pu-erh, a smoky lapsang-based Russian tea, or just a staple cup of an Ceylon/Assam blend, they will handle it with the care it deserves, steeping it at the proper temperature and providing all of the essentials. The staff was friendly and they knew there teas. I really liked the fact they had a "testing wall" where you could smell and see all the teas they have in the shop. This is the most perfect place. The people are very nice, the tea selection is vast and they know a lot about every one of them. If you want an in-house hot tea, you pick your own teapot and cup. It's a perfect cozy place to stay. They also have a rewards system - every once in a while it was nice to be surprised with a totally free pot of tea! I'm very picky about tea however this quaint little tea shop welcomed me with the aroma of dozens of different teas and freshly baked snickerdoodles, the ambient music was Gotan Project and a few other related artists. I enjoyed a soy milk (I've forgotten the name of the brand) tea. I got to chose the pot and cup of my choice for having it brewed in the shop. I put my baggage down and enjoyed the company of a photo book of the Magellan straits. The staff are friendly and knowledgable. The shop is clean as is the bathroom, the furniture is comfortable too. I don't see how I could've gone wrong with any of the teas on selection. read more

I LOVE Northern Tea House. So many cool little details here make it an oasis of calm. The people are friendly, the seating comfortable. They have predesigned, sweet drinks like London fogs and matcha lattes as well as loose leaf tea for more advanced tea drinkers. They also have nice little tea-appropriate snacks. I took my daughter and niece to the Northern Tea House and it was by far the best tea place we've ever been to. We would definitely go there again. We started off by smelling tea samples and that was how we chose our tea. My daughter ordered Lavender Sunset, an excellent choice, my niece ordered Coconut Rooibos, also very good, and I ordered Pineapple something. The man who helped us was extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our visit to the Tea House, and are planning to go there again soon. They also have a private room that is inexpensive to rent for parties. I would highly recommend this place! read more

This is a wonderful tea house! They have a great atmosphere and the owners are wonderful people. They have a huge variety of teas that I heard are going to be expanded to over 100 different kinds. They have green teas, black teas, rooibis, chai, medicinal herbal teas, and so many more. You can read the detailed descriptions to find the tea that is right for you or go to their wall of tea and smell the different kinds to pick out one.
