I've been going there for years and I'm shocked to see so many bad reviews. I've been working in…read moreretail my whole life and I think maybe I just understand how a store works a little better?? I know they're very very understaffed and unlike other retail stores they have the responsibility of taking care of animals on top of stocking shelves and customer service. I also understand that they honestly do the best they human can under the circumstances. sometimes not all of the cages are in perfect condition but they always care and do what they can. I always find what I need and I always get my questions answered expertly. They're a very knowledgeable group who I know don't receive paid training for what they know. It's all sought out on their own time and of their own volition. The groomers are horridly underrated, they punch out high quality grooms for a fraction of the cost of a personal groomer! Try getting that kind of cut at another petco or chain store! they most do shave- downs! These ladies do nothing but the best and treat each dog as if their own. I highly encourage you to go here. They know what they're talking about and have a lot of heart. These are underpaid, caring individuals who suffer the indignities of a gross job because they genuinely want to make a difference in the lives of animals. And i think that's a noble cause.

I've been to several shelters in the past year to adopt and it's been up and down. I went here on a Saturday after work and brought home my fur ever baby girl. I'm a proud happy fur mom . This is the happiest day of my life . I cried so many tears of joy when I was able to adopt my new female dog. I named her Sasha. Previously known as Oldsmobile. Sasha is the absolute sweetest girl ever. Sasha is what my heart needed. As a puppy she is very smart. Introducing to crate has been fairly well. Eating wow this girl can eat, run, do sprints around the house, yard and is super excited. I am too lol. Potty training is going very well in the morning she wakes me up with kisses to say she has to go and stands by door we go out. We have a routine. Totally recommend Homeward Per adoption to everyone. You will never be disappointed. The accept donations from you if your pet has passed away, been surrendered or you just want to donate, food, toys, supplies for dogs and cats. Well, I could continue to give praises all day. Gotta go mommy duty is calling.

Despite being one of the hardest evenings for us, from the moment we walked in, the entire team treated both our cat and our family with extraordinary compassion. They took the time to explain every detail of his condition and carefully walked us through all of our options without ever making us feel rushed or pressured. Even in such an emotional moment, we felt informed, supported, and respected. They cared for our cat with such tenderness and dignity, anticipating our needs, giving us space to grieve, and surrounding us with warmth during a difficult time. They also helped us with next steps, connecting us to cremation and memorial services, and also connecting with our current vet about our loss so we didn't have to. We also received a touching bereavement card signed by the team. No one ever wants to need an emergency vet for a moment like this, but I cannot imagine being in better hands. Their empathy, professionalism, and humanity made an unbearable situation just a little more bearable. We will always be grateful that our beloved cat's final moments were guided by such love and care.

I visited this store over the weekend, really looking forward to adopting a bird. Before driving an…read morehour, I called ahead to confirm if they had birds for adoption or if it was just a supply store, as I was specifically interested in that. The guy I spoke with said yes, they do have birds for adoption, but didn't clarify much beyond that. I assumed it would be like a Petco-style place where you can meet and adopt birds. When I arrived, I was shocked by how dusty the store was and how poorly maintained the cages looked. The birds' habitats seemed depressing and unsuitable -- definitely not the kind of environment where birds should live. When I asked about adopting a bird, I was told flat out, "THEY ARE NOT FOR ADOPTION." I was confused because didn't I call to ask that? And they said yes? Then I asked, "Neither of them?" He said only two types of birds were actually available for adoption, and those were the same birds you can find at Petco. If I had known this, I wouldn't have driven an hour I was specifically interested in African Grey parrots, which they had but not for adoption and since they are not available at Petco, I thought they would have one there for adoption. We were looking at the birds and we were never told "if you are interested in adopting these are available" which I would've appreciated. I decided to go to Petco after which is 5 min away from my house! and got a jenday conure bird there. Anyway, I ended up buying some sunflower seeds for a bird I already have at home, but he wouldn't eat them, which was weird because those are his favorite. It turned out the bag was expired, which explains why. Overall, this place felt really poorly managed, especially regarding the birds' living conditions. They desperately need better habitats that allow the birds space to stretch their wings and have a more natural, healthy environment. I do not recommend this place.
