Was charged the most ever ($135. and I stupidly tipped another $15) for my 2 year old Goldendoodle grooming by Ashley on Tuesday. Ashley showed little interest in our dog when we met for the first time and I should have read my dog's feelings who usually loves and trusts everyone, did not seem comfortable with her. Everything I asked for was reversed, her eye lashes were cut short, her ears were not, top of the head was trimmed - at home two days later our dog is still flinching with ear damage! How disappointed we are with this business - we will no longer buy dog and cat food- Orijins- from them and do NOT recommend this groomer or this business! read more

Taylor Rae is the best. Our shiba inu does not like people and does the shiva scream normally but he behaved perfect for her from start to finish. Very professional and educated us on our pups needs. Highly recommend this place!! read more

They have the best pet grooming team ever!!! I have two dogs. One is easy and the other is super anxious. I feel so apologetic every time I come to pick him up because he can get nippy. Luckily he doesn't have any front teeth. I'm just so grateful that they are willing to work with his somewhat challenging part of his personality quirks. They always come back looking so beautiful!!! We are way impressed. Plus, they have the dog food we love. It's been wonderful working with this Pet Shoppe. read more

An old-time pet store in my neighborhood. They don't really sell the food that my dog likes but I do appreciate that they have grooming. Their groomers are okay. And I say okay because I have a favorite groomer in Tukwika that is absolutely world class, and who was the only groomer that I ever used in till I moved to the Peninsula side of the sound. So living over here I am now forced to use pet grooming services in Kitsap County for the most part. But I haven't been completely happy with any. However, I will use this groomer in my neighborhood in a pinch. They get my dog clean enough, with a decent poodle puppy cut, but for some reason they do not know how to do the poodle tail. His tail always comes back very long, shaggy, and not in that beautiful ball that it should be. Go here and you'll get a clean and nice smelling dog. The prices the same pretty much across the board they're not too expensive and they're not cheap either. The staff are quick and exude enthusiasm for pets. read more

We have always taken our dogs here for grooming and nail trims. Our original groomer was so wonderful with our adopted pup who was found roaming the streets in California before we made him a member of our family. He has had difficulties and she was so patient with him. But alas she left. Yesterday he went in and I picked him up and heard he was difficult but I thanked the groomer. When we got home his coat was a mess upon examination. I called and complained. The owner offered for me to bring him back in. I said only if another groomer worked on him. She said she only had the one. I declined. As soon as I hung up with her the groomer called me and told me I had a bad and dangerous dog and he wasn't welcome there anymore. Needless to say I did not take kindly to this and that she said owner knew she was calling. All of her employees have left because of the management I have found out. Stay far away from here. Bad business and customer service for sure. read more

My wife and I love dogs, and have been wanting one for a long time. We had kids and had to put the "dog thing" on hold until we thought they were old enough to remember and help. We ended up buying a Daniff from one of our neighbors and came here shortly before picking her up. The woman working gave us lots of great, specific information about how to manage large breeds and assisted us with getting setup for a "new puppy family." They know how to make long-term clients with a small town pet shop feel. We will be back. read more

A "mom and pop shop", this pet store manages to fit a wide variety of animals and supplies into a tiny space. I've seen birds, fish, reptiles, hermit crabs, rodents, bunnies and even kittens there at times. The staff is always cheery and helpful. It's a bit of a drive from where I live and can be a little more pricy than the chain stores which are closer but I am glad to support a local business, especially one which obviously loves what they do so much. read more

Small country store carries top end quality pet food for dogs and cats. Has a little bit of everything you need for all animals, even live crickets for your reptiles. Has a pet bunny and chinchilla for your kids to pet. Staff is friendly and helpful, always & will order what you need if its not in stock. Ordered some chicks from them too. The local Kingston feed store went out of business so now the Country Pet Shoppe has more products than before, I definitely recommend this place. Support your local business! read more

I find it interesting that over 2 months later you respond with all this knowledge of my dog. First she is a she. Second she is an indoor collie. Third my wife brushes her regularly. We took her to a new groomer who had no trouble taking care of her. Your groomer was more interested in his expertise than good customer service. He completely dismissed me as if I was ignorant about my collie. I wish you nothing but good luck. read more

Erica came out of the store and helped me catch him, and then held him in the store and took care of him until we could track down his owner. Very rude. I made an appointment for a self service dog wash and when I drove there I was informed that the appointment was not made for the time I was told and then I was told people make mistakes and told to go to another place. She was belligerent and curt. I rearranged my schedule to accommodate them and then she told me to leave because they were not open yet. Will never return. Overall poor customer service. read more

I have been taking my three rescue dogs to Missi at Country Pet Shoppe for grooming for several years, and my girls have been playing with other dogs at the Kingston K9 playtime on Saturdays in the back yard at the Shoppe since playtime sessions began last year. The Shoppe is an integral part of the main Kingston business core and provides excellent and much needed local services, not only to the Kingston K9 community, but to the wider community as well. They represent the best qualities of a small, independent, community-based business. Whether they are hosting a fundraiser for a local guy injured in a horrific car accident, supporting the Kitsap Humane Society, or spending significant amounts of time looking for special grain free food for my dog with allergies, they are a model of how the dedication and efforts of a small group of people can benefit many more people. If they don't have something I need, they always offer to order it for me, and are always welcoming when I bring my pups into the Shoppe, no matter how much they bark. When Missi gets booked up (which is a good thing), we work out appointment alternatives so I don't have to embarrass my dogs with giving them bad haircuts myself. When one of my dogs died earlier this month, everyone at the Shoppe was very kind and supportive, and you just don't get that from Petco. And because Country Pet Shoppe isn't Petco, thank goodness, I know I can rely on these folks to provide the best customer service around. read more
