Oasis has been around since I was a teen and I'm really glad that it's still chugging along, serving desserts and coffee to the next generation of patrons in the Bayside area. Long ago, it was THE place after hours for everyone to go to grab a snack after a long night of partying and it looks like things haven't changed. The venue has really changed for the better since my younger years. Back in the day, it was a bunch of tables and a nice outdoor garden. The interior has since been renovated to include an elegant dining area and bar which really ups the atmosphere. The menu here has tons of sweets and drinks, you really can't go wrong. They range from the traditional (tiramisu, chocolate cake) to Greek (baklava, galaktobureko) and they're all winners in my book. The menu also has cooked food but the main reason I like to come here is to grab a snack in a nice setting. Service here is really good and they take the safety precautions during pandemic really seriously. Prices are low IMHO and the quality is excellent. The Oasis Cafe has been around for awhile and I don't know why it took so long for me to discover this place! The Oasis Cafe has its own outdoor backyard essentially. There's a huge backyard that is hidden away from public eye. I came during COVID and they did a great job ensuring that all staff was wearing masks. The tables were also a good distance from each other. We came on the weekend around 7:30PM which seemed to just beat the rush of people. We ordered a few drinks and had a really great time. When it gets darker outside, the lights turn on and it creates a very nice summertime vibe in Bayside. The drinks were honestly bomb. We ordered a good mix of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as some of the desserts. I would say that drinks pricing are very typical of what you would normally get in Bayside. I also recommend that if you're coming with a big group (as we were), you try to beat the post dinner time rush especially on the weekends because it definitely gets busy. When we left, there seemed to be masses of people waiting for a table even during the height of coronavirus! Service was also wonderful. There was only one waitress covering the entire cafe, so service was a bit slow. She was apologetic and very sweet, but it was fine since it gave me more time to catch up with my friends. We had cappuccino, milkshakes, tiramisu, Napoleon cake, and the baklava cheesecake. The kids loved their milkshakes and the desserts were delicious. Tiramisu had a good kick of liquor and the napoleon was perfect. The baklava cheese cake was amazing. I probably should have turned it on it's side so the cheesecake didn't squeeze out when I cut into it with a fork. Overall, a nice casual place for coffee and dessert. I was really excited for the pasta and pizza, but most of the menu items that they showcased online were missing, and when I asked if it was because of covid-19, they said they simply don't serve it. Didn't have to wait for a table, but they didn't tell us they would seat us in the smoking section until I smelled the smoke mid way through my meal. At the end of my meal I even smelled weed! Let me just start off by stating I've never physically been to this location. I've always ordered dessert to be delivered to my home. Even though it is a little pricey, there hasn't been one dessert I've ordered from here that has been disappointing. This time around we ordered the spinach pie and the ham and Swiss. The spinach one was very filling but in my opinion lacked flavor. The ham and Swiss was delicious as per my daughter. The desserts were very moist and fresh per usual. Came here on a Saturday evening with a group of 7. The place was packed but luckily we got seated in about 10 minutes. Firstly they have a really nice outdoor space with lights which created a nice ambienance. My friends and I only got drinks and dessert so I can't say too much about the food but when I was walking by people eating the food looked pretty good. I ordered the tiramisu cheesecake and a frappe. The cake was good, but in my opinion just tasted like cheesecake and I didn't really get any tiramisu flavor. I'm not a big coffee drinker but the frappe was ok. Just tasted like normal coffee that had a lot of cream on top of it which I personally am not a huge fan of. I would probably give this place 3 stars based on what I ordered, but I enjoyed the ambience and since I didn't try the food I don't want to be too judgemental on the quality of their menu. However the annoying part is that the employees here are just hanging around doing nothing. It's not just one time.
